Loved the Brussel Sprouts and Garlic Shrimp. Lazy Paella was a bit disappointing as it was just too salty. Our waiter was fabulous and I would still go back regardless of the paella. There are other yummy things on the menu.
NOISY!!
Service not coordinated.
Great food, fantastic view of river, great service.
We really enjoyed our evening. It was raining, so we didn’t get to sit outside as we had hoped, but were seated next to the window with a lovely view of the river and the Peace Center. We shared a number of the small plates and thought everything was great. The brussel sprouts were on point. They were out of the wine we initially ordered, but we found another we liked.
Very good food, unusual spices, tasty. Great view, nice atmosphere.
We love the food the Tapas offering was excellent and the Mussels were so good very authentic Spanish flare. Service was very good the only down side is it is very noisy but we will go back no doubt!!
reat location and view however we were very disappointed in the paella dishes. They were extremely salty, greasy, mushy, and lacked any spices besides just salt. Many other reviewers have said this same thing but I thought they were just being picky... nope, learned the hard way that they were right.
The fried goat cheese bits and olives were good.
Service was ok. No complaints there.
Overall I don't think we will return or if we do we'll get apps only.
The location and views are terrific. One person in our group is vegetarian and was pleased with the options available. Our favorite app was the fried goat cheese with honey & pistachios. Our server was helpful & friendly but a bit slow to serve and close out our table.
It was an awesome experience . The food was delicious and the service was superb. We didn’t have to wait long for our food. It was just the right amount of time. The drinks were delicious as well. We recommend it and would go again if we visit the area.
Place was busy on Saturday night, but we had an 8 PM Reservation and didn’t complete our meal until 10:30 because of how long it took to get each course. They were “sold out” of several key entree’s so the menu was fairly limited.
Amazing dinner, great view of river. 13 anniversary watching someone elses day 1 into marriage was pretty cool too.
Service was terrible.Server took our order and we did not have any contact with him again until I stood to seek the check. Our water glasses needed refills 25 minutes beforehand but there was no server to assist us. It was a bizarre experience. Food was good but the goat cheese had a different taste....more tangy....and the Moroccan lamb did not have the usual rich flavor. Other food was very good.
Consistently excellent food. I had a Spanish Shrimp dish with carrots and beans that was amazing. My husband had a pork dish and ate every bite. We find the Lazy Goat to continue to be one of the best restaurants in Greenville.
We recently dined at the Lazy Goat on a Thursday evening. I liked that the restaurant was not packed as it usually is on weekends. Our server was very nice and personable in the beginning, but lacked that same niceness at the end. And I have no idea why, other than we declined dessert?? She took our credit card, returned with it, and abruptly put it on the table with I think a whispered thank you. I'm so glad the food made up for her lack of personality. I had the
Mediterranean Chicken. It was one of the best meals I've had at this restaurant. So delicious!! I can't wait to return and order it again. I hope this dish permanently remains on the menu.
Food and ambience was great! Staff needs instruction on proper silverware to serve with mussels and desserts!!
Food generally good
Had ravioli with butternut squash. Wow was it salty. When u could taste the ravioli it was good. Way way to much salt in the sauce
Brussels sprouts were excellent As was hummus
Won’t rush back but will go and try something different.
Service very good as was hostesses. Very nice
Our food was delicious.
Service was okay but not exceptional, cheese portions sliced so thinly that daylight could shine through, wine selection good, food was fresh but Paella dish lacked spice and flavor almost bland. Overall a nice place for drinks & appetizers - pass on the entrées.
Dined here as a date with my girlfriend. Went as a suggestion from friends. Their drinks were so good (Texas Mule and Lazy Margarita). Brussel Sprouts were amazing (I’m still thinking about them) as was the Duck, Duck, Goat pizza.
Ambience was really romantic and perfect for a dinner in Greenville.
Service was pretty good. They were quite busy so our server was trying to keep his head above water. He wasn’t unkind he just wasn’t personable. All in all though, I’d eat there again.
What a great experience. The view was amazing. The service exceptional and the meal was very unique. At the end of our weekend trip my wife made the comment that her favorite experience over the 3 days was the goat cheese balls and Sangria at the Lazy Goat. This is big because we visited many different restaurants over the weekend.
Lazy Goat is one of our favorite casual dining experiences. The fried goat cheese balls are second to none! Can’t recommend them more. Can’t decide what to eat? Just pick something randomly because you can’t go wrong with anything.
We really wanted to like the Lazy Goat and chose it based in other reviews. We ordered several items from the menu not knowing that each item would be progressively worse. The charcuterie was warm, warmer than the ambient temperature. The meats and cheeses we had initially chosen were not available. We then ordered the duck pizza, falafel salad as well as the crispy Brussels sprouts. The pizza was greasy topped with room temperature duck and an almost hard boiled egg atop. The salad was the best though the falafel was rock hard. Then the Brussel sprouts were so sweet it was as if they were dusted in confectioners sugar And swimming in maple syrup. To say we were underwhelmed is an understatement. Perhaps this was a bad night, we won’t be back to see if it was.
We thoroughly enjoyed a beautiful night on the patio!
Lazy Goat really under performed this Easter. Many years of dining here and this was cold. Grey, and even looked unsanitary on the Buffett. The meat carver grabbed the meat with his hands and put it on my plate. Horrible meal. We should have left. But it was easter and we were afraid of not getting a table.
Easter brunch
Easter Brunch with the family.
First time dining here. Dined outside. Area was littered with cigarette butts on stairs and blowing debris. Food was very good (paella) to bland (pizza). Service was very good, although majority of staff were distracted by rather large indoor rehearsal party, which we did not know about when making reservations
However small plates were very interesting and flavorful and we would return.
We had great service! Very prompt with bringing over our appetizers. The food was fantastic! Brussel sprouts were the best I’ve ever had, so were the scallops! Delish! Loved the mussels also with the grilled chibatta! Yum! Didn’t love the butternut squash ravioli but everything else was excellent. Would recommend to anyone!
We went at 5pm on a Tuesday and were the first guests. Everyone was friendly and we were seated by a window overlooking the river. Very nice. Food came out fast and delicious. Be aware of the falafel. It was delicious but one went flying off the salad and onto the floor when we tried to cut it in half.
If you even remotely like Brussel sprouts, order them here! You will not regret it...
Wonderful date night spot overlooking the River! Our waiter was wonderful and he was very attentive to us and his other tables! The brussels sprouts were AH-mazing! Definitely a dish to try out!!!!
While visiting Greenville, my family enjoyed a lovely meal here. The tables are well spaced, so you are not sitting on top of your neighbors. The view of the Riverwalk was great. Two of my party are vegetarians and multiple options were available. The kitchen also had flexibility to remove objectionable ingredients. The salads were large and can be shared as a first course. The Brussels sprouts (without the pork at my request ) were excellent. I had the paella which was fantastic. The others shared a pizza and salads which they enjoyed. We will be back.
We came here for my friends bachelorette dinner and enjoyed all the food and drinks, especially the Brussels sprouts. We loved the ambiance and atmosphere- quiet enough to talk, but fun too with a great view! Our server took good care of us too!
Loud. Poor HVAC, blowing on customers. Food not appetizing, just hot.
Everything was okay... service was lacking. We were never told about any specials, we waited 35 minutes for our appetizers.. then food followed quickly after. The mussel appetizer was amazing, by far the best thing about the night. We waited 5 minutes for our drink refills. Then were quickly rushed out. Nothing was outstanding but it wasn’t the worst I’ve ever had. Won’t be running back
Initially I was a bit dismayed with the parking situation as I had dogs in my car, but The Lazy Goat had the answer, their patio is dog friendly, and the patio setting is absolutely gorgeous. It was the perfect setting for a nice lunch on the river. The food was delicious, but how can you go wrong with grilled cheese with pesto? Would love to visit this restaurant again with the dogs and then go for a nice walk along the river after.
Unfortunately the Lazy Goat restaurant did NOT preform as a top eatery. Servers overwhelmed and underperformed. Lamb appetizers came out cold and we waited to long for delivery. Meals were okay, again cold...Fish plate was delicious, but small portions and the eggplant dish was cold, sent back and they did not even top off portion. Service was overall poor! Guess a crazy St. Patty’s at the Goat...improvement needed.
Goat cheese balls with honey and pistachios was extrodinary. We will order it every time.
Great food. Great atmosphere. Service was mediocre at best.
Went there for my parents anniversary - they loved the food and the scenery! Highly recommend
