Much, much too loud. Table was not available upon our arrival. People still seated there. Waitress was super busy so we had to wait to even get her to stop by. Actually had to request our bill from another staff member. Will never visit again in the evenings. Great place for a drink or two but not to share a meal with good friends who want to talk.
Little loud (and intimate, unless you get the right table) for a business lunch, but otherwise great!
Sat outside. Wonderful food, scallops and Ahi tuna. Nice size portions. Good service
The Lawrence is an excellent restaurant . The server and other staff people were very kind. It's not tops on atmosphere, but if you're just looking for good food, it works well.
Food was average. Service was ok. I expected more from the restaurant
A great spot for a casual dinner. A great outdoor patio.
We had a great evening. Loved the food and the service and the ambience. The noise level was a little high for us. The scallops were sensational. My steak frites were quite good. I could have gone more stars, but I reserve those for only a few crazy experiences. Nicole, our waitperson was great. She gave us great advice, was efficient and fun. Here too, I might have gone higher in praise, but it is tough to be perfect in such a jolly fun-filled place. Reservations are helpful if you don't want to be at the popping high-energy bar. It is a fairly small space, so our reserved seats still allowed us to take in all the action. The scene was eclectic with gay and straight youguns, a table of mature black women, Asian folks... I just adore such a customer salad. I wish I could have tried more dishes.
Great time all around. Excellent food and even better service!!
Hope it was an off night with recovery from the kitchen fire. Service slow. Timing of courses off. Many items not available.
Went on a Sunday evening. Had to wait 30 minutes to get seated due to mismanagement by one of the hostesses. Mussels and part of meal was lukewarm. Usually everything thing is great. Will give them another try at time other than Sunday evening.
The bar is excellent. Dining room is open and trendy. I go to the Lawerence whenever I have the chance.
Costeel was amazing! Great atmosphere and the food was superb. Will definitely be back!
Fish and Crab and rice dish was just amazing! Truly a nice flavor!
Cool Joint. Good Food. Great place if in Mid-Town and want to grab a drink or a meal.
Food was excellent, and our server Nicki was attentive and pleasant. Overall, great experience!
Waiter seemed high and told us at the beginning of our meal he was “a bit out of it” and that we should bear with him. Brought the wrong cocktail. Food was mediocre. We won’t be back.
Cocktails are exceptional. Servers are very courteous and know their menus.
Great little place, but VERY loud.
Tasty inventive food, nice interior and pleasant cocktails. The Lawrence has all that going for it as well as a great location. But it is one of the loudest interiors around, which is a drawback for many people. And the service was quite uneven. I'm not sure if our primary server was having an off night, as he did say his brain wasn't working that night, but that lack of attention can add stress to your evening, especially when trying to relax with friends. I'd be more likely to try again on a less busy night.
We went on a Thursday night and it was packed. We had reservations and got seated quickly. This is a VERY LOUD restaurant. So if you're expecting to have an intimate dinner go elsewhere. We had to yell to hear each other speak across the table. The food was very good. The service was not. Our server was working 3 tables and we had to keep waiting on things. It took about 15 mins to get our first drinks. A food runner brought our appetizer which was the salmon. Delicious. We kept waiting for our server to return so we could order our wine to accompany the steak and it took her so long to return that the steak was brought out (by another food runner) and our wine didn't come until the steak was cold. It was very disappointing. Also, the bathrooms were very nasty and there was only one bathroom in service. So expect a waiting line for the bathroom. We had high expectations but were disappointed.
Lovely menu that catered to everyone's preferences, which was great. It had a very trendy vibe and we especially enjoyed the cocktails.
Very enjoyable business meal. Waiter is consistently one of the best in town. Food was good as expected. Great wine list and waiter is knowledgeable.
Loved everything about our experience except how tight the seating is. If you have trouble w sitting close to strangers this isn’t the place for you! Otherwise food and service on point!
Out of every bottle of wine selected. New server who was nice but not knowledgeable enough to help manage wine expectations/selections. Server should have had someone who was more seasoned to back him up if even a manager to touch the table to assist when challenges were presented.
Food was good but not great. I can get better portion size for same price at other places in Atlanta. The only thing unique is the drink menu options. I will come there again for sure for drinks and apps. Not for dinner food.
We had an 8:00pm reservation and got sat at 8:30pm.
The valet is top notch here, it really takes the trip to the restaurant to the next level! Then the food is always amazing, and I've tried a lot on the menu. The cocktails are seasonal, unique and delicious! Servers have always been pleasant and efficient. I keep coming back, never had a bad experience!!
The food was delicious! We had the salmon chips and then shared the steak and red snapper. Everything was delicious! Pricey and wine is not a generous pour but that's midtown. The biggest problem is the noise level. We were there at 6:15 on a Friday night and sat in a booth. I couldn't hear what the person across the table from me was saying. May be best to sit outside! The complimentary valet is great and we left the car there and Ubered to the Fox. Saved money and headache trying to park near the Fox.
Great service, delicious food, and a fun vibe makes The Lawrence a treat.
Food and drinks were excellent. Loved the burger and ricotta bolognese. Great recommendations from our friendly waiter. We enjoyed the atmosphere and can't wait to go back. Prices were really fair considering how high quality the food and drinks were.
I had dinner here twice this week, both times with reservations. My first dinner was on Tuesday with a former co-worker to catchup. At 8pm the restaurant was very busy and loud. I was seated promptly and the hostess was very nice. Our table was very close to the door and another high top table. Since it was quite chilly the combination of the door being very near and opening frequently made that table less than ideal. The dinner menu here is not massive but has some nice selections. We started with the diver scallop which had some fiery peppers on it and some herbs. I didn’t love the dish because there was little flavor beyond the pepper. I ordered the pappardelle bolognese and they were out. My second choice was the shrimp and grits, which my dining partner also ordered. She really enjoyed it, I thought it was just ok in comparison to the shrimp and grits I’ve had at other restaurants in the same area. The grits were lacking in texture, the whole dish was heavily salted. Our server was attentive but not overly so. My second dinner here this week was a group of 4. We were seated promptly at a large table in the back. Also, an 8 pm reservation and it was very loud in the restaurant. However, being seated in the back instead of in the middle of the the restaurant floor decreases the noise tremendously. We would have sat outside if not for the weather. Our server was very outgoing and made the evening fun. We ordered the pimento cheese and the brussel sprouts as a starter. Both were very good and I would highly recommend them. The brussel sprouts really stood out because they were perfectly roasted. The table ordered two “Larry Burgers”, one pasta, and one steak and frites. The pasta was just ok. I’m not sure what it was, it just didn’t have anything special that stood out and the noodles were over cooked, in my opinion. The steak and frites, which my boyfriend shared bites of, were amazing!
Service was willing but green
Food was meh. Fries were soggy , muscles were tiny
Atmosphere was perfect, server was perfect, food was perfect, and we got a little birthday treat as well!
The food was really good! The whole atmosphere was also really nice. The whole space was a little small, but other than that, I will definitely be coming back!
It’s a mixed bag, some of the food is really good some of it is ok. Take the recommendations from the waiter what to order that’ll help. The deviled eggs are amazing. The shrimp and grits was good too. The main issue isn’t the food because the cost is low for the food compared to most of Atlanta. The issue is your scrunched in with other people with no privacy. We had someon actually start taking into our conversation, that’s how close we were sitting. Plus I didn’t like hearing other people’s discussions. The waiter was really good.
Lunch edition to our valentines festivities. Nice and quaint. We enjoyed.
Would not be my first place to recommend. I was able to find it from OpenTable.
Ran out of booze! Otherwise great!
