Every aspect was phenomenal . The food, the wait staff, the host, the venue. Will definitely return
Our server was very sweet and had good recommendations on the menu. He was attentive without being annoying. The entree's were good, but nothing special (excpet for the arugula side salad - amazing dressing). The desserts, however, were so good!
Hands down one of the best dining experiences I have ever had. Would definitely come here again. Shoutout to Arnie for making the most AMAZING cocktails and firing them off continuously. Have been recommending this place since we left for the night and will continuously recommend Larchmont and Arnie to everyone I meet. Thank you again for such a wonderful experience. Definitely made my fiance's Quarter Century one to remember.
Pleasant cozy atmosphere in a converted older home. The noise level was very comfortable with room between tables. The food was presented nicely with a friendly helpful waiter.
Lovely place. Great patio. Food was good but service wasn't so great. Very timid waiter. The Brie omelette was made with goat cheese. It was tasty but not what I expected. Presentation on food was very nice.
For us the best feature of The Larchmont is the ambiance and moderate noise level, it's the main reason we go there, a very comfortable place to actually talk to your friends and hear them without screaming, without hearing the conversation at the next table. It's very comfortable, like a cozy living room in pretty house. You don't hear that loud noise level which is very popular now. Definitely a place for adults, not a scene to show off your date. Most diners seem to be from the neighborhood and near by Hancock Park. Staff is attentive and professional, great waiter, but perhaps he has too many tables.
We have dined there for 2 years+, would say that the menu could use some updates and changes, especially the desert choices, not so good.
Ate early and ate well! There's an advantage to coming in early-more attention and less noise. Waiter had lots of information to share and was tres knowledgeable on wines and beers. Delightful evening!
They had a big giant party upstairs .. Trainee for our server helper 😜. Big lag times for drinks .. I love it here they were super nice and gave us free drinks .. Very very accommodating .. Lovely atmosphere .. Love it here love the food . All tasteful and flavorful. We hit a cuckoo night but they certainly made up for it.
My "chicken under brick" was delicious. My wife enjoyed the bass. My Moscow Mule was super cold and delicious. Of course we will be back soon.
I thought it would be decorative which would add to the atmosphere. The brunch/lunch menu is limited but good choices nonetheless. I expected alot more from the poppyseed cake, not impressed, wish they had variety of desserts. Very original Margarita, and Sunday street parking is good.
Great ambiance and AMAZING customer service. Our bartender and waiter were stellar.
The food is consistently delicious and the service is fantastic.
Love this comfortable cozy restaurant that serves excellent food and drink.
The Larchmont was disappointing. It was definitely over hyped. The dishes are very uninteresting, not of a high quality and not overly tasty. Everything was good, but I expected great based on the location and the hype.
The food was great !
The Larchmont is one of my very favorite restaurants. Located in a vintage craftsman bungalow on Melrose in the Larchmont neighborhood, it is tastefully and attractively furnished, with white tablecloths and period decor. The service is always gracious and friendly, and the cuisine consistently superior. My friend had Chicken Under a Brick, and it was perfectly moist and tender with a seasoned crispy skin. I had wonderfully flavorful and rich Lamb Shoulder on pureed parsnips. We shared a wonderful Hamachi Crudo with avocado for starters. Elegant without being stuffy. Always a treat.
This charming old house-become-restaurant is a perfect place for a special lunch or dinner. Despite the service being a bit slow, we had a great time. Cocktails are good; food is inventive; setting is charming, both inside and out on the extended deck.
Chicken and fish were excellent the lamb dry. Loved the bib lettuce salad.
Great service, food, and quite ambiance. A real pleasure. We will be back.
Second time visiting this restaurant and it remains one of my favs in LA for an intimate meal. New chef this time, but the food is every bit as good.
Awesome please! Amazing food and drinks! Service awesome
Well, as promised (to myself) I branched out and tried something different on the menu. I chose the Salmon With Lentils -- superb! The flavors were subtle and fresh and the salmon was cooked to absolute perfection. It was a satisfying, wholesome dish that left me feeling good about myself. My friend had the Burger with the optional Pork Belly Something-Or-Other (WTF?). Anyway, dude says it might well be the best burger he's ever had in his life!!! I said that was a big statement, but he happily stood by it. All the staff were great, and we especially appreciated Luis, our charming, gracious, and knowledgeable server.
Excellent food and service. James and the entire group take great care of their guests.
Good service. Patio lights did not come on, and so entire patio had to be reseated indoors. Staff made it as smooth as possible, and all the food was delicious -- once we could see it!
The food is phenomenal!
This place is a hidden treasure for sure! It had great reviews so I decided to try it! I'm extremely happy I did! The service was amazing from the moment I walked into the front door! Drinks from the bar so tasty and all made fresh! Food was amazing as while we finished everything on our plates! I had the fish of the day which was Sea Bass with clams OMG!! Also had the beignets with three different dipping sauces raspberry, chocolate and vanilla! I will be returning to enjoy this place again!! Side not there's valet in the front or there's street parking if you come early enough! All in all this place is awesome!!
Our main server, Louis (?), was wonderful! Very knowledgeable, generous, and personable. My friend and I had gone there specifically for our fave, the Strozzapreti, so we were disappointed to find that it was no longer on the menu. The "replacement" was a gnocci dish that, frankly, made me miss their Strozzapreti. On the other hand, my dining partner said he enjoyed the gnocci even more. Different strokes, I guess. Anyway, we really like going there. So for me, it'll be a cue to branch out and finally try other menu items -- and there are definitely many that look inviting.
The service, food and the evening were just splendid. Chris Kramer really has made a positive impact on the restaurant in the past year.
Our guy Ryan (sorry if he calls Brian?) was very knowledgeable about the menu and the wine list.
He was very pleasant and nice.
The chef did an excellent job on every meal!!!
The menu is pretty limited (the main reason for giving only a "good" rating for the food). We had the Sunday special of half a fried chicken with sides -- just the right amount for sharing between the two of us. The beignets for dessert were excellent.
I go here a lot since it is around the block from my office and on my way home, for dinner. The service is generally slow for lunch, when time is limited. Their salads are ridiculously small for the price point, usually $17-20 for an entree type salad. When you ask to add chicken to the salad, it's dry and looks as though it's been sitting around since morning (not 1 time but 3 times). The food is good but they need to be more generous. They also need to get a better wait staff. Atmosphere is lovely, so if they can fix a few things, as these problems have been plaguing them for months, then they can be more successful than the last 3 restaurants in that space.
The Lunch menu is condensed but everything we order was good and cooked to perfection. Service was ok, slow to process payment via open table.
The staff were warm and wonderful!
The food was very good and it is a lovely patio.
But the entire staff were charming.
Great food. Service slow but not the usual for this place. They made up for it with some extras!
Everything perfect. One of our best Brunch in life!
Our party of 3 (parents and 14 year old boy) looked for a place to eat on a Saturday night after a movie and found The Larchmont on Open Table. The menu looked good and the rating was high.
Our waiter didn't make it to our table for at least 10 minutes. A simple meal - apps and burgers - took over an hour to arrive, overcooked, over-seasoned. I would have sent back my burger, but since it took so long to arrive, I didn't want to wait another 40 minutes.
When we asked for a check, the waiter took his time, taking orders, chatting with another table.
We dined on the second-floor veranda and despite being alone up there (we went early) our service was attentive and knowledgeable. The entree (braised lamb shoulder in a glorious sauce) and the gazpacho and the salad were well made, imaginative and very flavorful. We'll be back for more!
Very slow service and mix-ups on our orders
A home turned restaurant, this jewel in Larchmont Village is a local hideaway. Nothing says LA more then a craftsman home towering like a historic figure from the flapper years. This home has been meticulously brought up to speed to sit in a wonderful median between cozy and contemporary. The menu brings about all the right protein served to perfection with wonderful salad options. Having my Tab open with them also added a great easy way to impress my date-no hassling over who puts their card down. I will definitely be returning.
overall excellent, but the wine pours are stingy and a very long wait for dessert. Also dessert list too short, just three, two being chocolate. No fruit. Come to think of it, entree list could be longer, too.
Salads and vegetables outstanding!
