The Landing at 7 Central is set in an ideal location as the restaurant can be found within a short walking distance of the Singing Beach, MA. It provides proper dine-in services at lunch, dinner, and an exclusive brunch is also offered on Sundays.
Landing at 7 Central has a brightly lit front pub, which looks across Town Hall Common and the Central Street of the city by the harbor. A wide range of appetizers is present, such as meatballs, hand cut fries, shrimp cocktail, smoked mozzarella sticks, and nachos. Grilled flatbreads and other local entrees are also offered. The parmesan & prosciutto stuffed pork loin, Guinness fish fry, pasta du jour, and fried clams are some of the popular menu items at Landing at 7 Central.
This was return dining for us. We love the little town and the restaurant has a cozy setting with good food. The service was pleasant and just right with attention. In addition, the prices are very reasonable.
My husband & I enjoyed a table right next to the lit fireplace which was very nice to be seated near in the month of November. Our waitress was very nice and attentive to our needs and the food was delicious! We will be coming back again in the months ahead!
My husband and I come here frequently.....it is always great....good cocktails, food and service and reasonably priced.
made a reservation for 6 but only 5 of us and felt crowded in booth, server not experienced waitress would try to give you your dinner without clearing the appetizer first,, food was just fair, appetizers not many fired clams maybe 8 at most, plenty of mussels very garlicy, calmari tasteless and also small portion, duck and butternut squash ravoli good, rib eye just ok, small portion of shepard pie and meatloaf just ok
We were disappointed in the overall quality of the food. A good indication of the restaurant's popularity on a beautiful Sat evening was the fact that it was nearly empty at 7 pm and this must be an indication that the food was not great anymore.
We had a very enjoyable dinner with friends. Good food and a friendly efficient staff.
A clean traditional New England tavern, with 2 bars & a dining room that is smartly separated in sections for a quiet, relaxing atmosphere. The food was delicious! A number of VERY fresh salads to choose from ranging from $4-$8. Handmade coconut shrimp w/ a spicy sweet homemade citrus sauce to accompany (5 u8 size shrimp to an order @ $12). Complimentary herb infused olive oil & homemade roll basket. Reasonably priced well rounded wine selection. I had the special for an entrée..prime rib (16oz & hangin' off the plate! & didn't need a knife it was so tender!) baked potato, & fresh local grilled veggies all for just $17! Oh..& if your not familiar, there is a free parking lot across the street by the boat docks!! Enjoy!!
Food and service was good but noise level so high we left as soon as possible.
This was exactly the dining experience we were seeking in the picturesque town of Manchester-by-the-sea. Great access from hiway, parked right in front, seated on the outdoor deck overlooking the water. The fried oyster special was delicious. Additionally, a quick visit in town and harbor were perfect before we attended the Boston Lobsters nearby.
While in the area we were looking for a restaurant with more of a local flair and 7 Central did not disappoint. From the soup to appetizers to the entree, everyone in my group of 4 was very pleased with their meal. So glad we took the advice of other reviewers and gave it a try. You will enjoy it all around!
Just a great experience in every way. Very attentive service and exceptional food. We'll be back!
We visited The Landing at 7 Central while vacationing in the Gloucester area. We found the restaurant quite by accident via internet search for local restaurants. What a pleasant surprise. We were served by two delightful waitresses. Ericka and a second server whose name we forgot (sadly). The food was fabulous. It was, overall, a great experience. We will definitely return on our next visit.
The food was very good here and we were dining at an early hour 6 p.m. The back room near the patio was very warm and inviting with a fireplace. Overall a very pleasant experience.
We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner at the Landing. Great menu. Wonderful fireplace and view of the river in a charming historic building in the center of scenic Manchester-by-the-Sea. Nice having candles on the table and bread/oil served right away. The Caesar dressing was very good, but salad was not evenly dressed. The Chicken Jessica was fabulous. So good we'd have a problem ordering anything else going forward. Amazing sauce! We'll be back.
Great pub atmosphere with live music on Saturdays.
Fish was excellent. Everyone enjoyed their entrees.
The food was excellent, service was fast, and the staff was friendly and knowledgeable. From the minute we walked in the door we were greeted, not by just one person , but by three - a very welcoming atmosphere, we will be going there again soon!
We go to The Landing because we live in town and the food is good, the staff is excellent and the restaurant is lovely. Our last visit was to celebrate a friends birthday. It was somewhat hampered by a group with quite a few very loud children who I am sure disturbed not only our party but others closer to them. These things happen. It will not keep us from returning.
Then only negative about this spot is that the background music is a bit loud and makes for a more difficult time to hear conversation.
The Landing is a great place, with good food. It was the perfect spot for Christmas Eve.
4PM reservation on Sunday afternoon a week or so prior to Christmas. Booth style and table combo seating is very welcoming. Cocktail order prompt. Many 'comfort food' dinner choices for all. Fried clams, beef stew & onion soup. Food was terrific. Service was great as well. Birthday dinner with my (older) parents...no steps! Gentle incline ramp right into main dining room. Perfect. You won't be disappointed.
We tried the landing on a soggy Saturday night and the food was good, we came early and waited for a table. The bartender was very good and very funny. I hear they have live music at night there also. When I say the food was good it was, nothing was bad but it was all very basic and that was just fine. I had the prime rib which was good albeit lots under medium well. My gf had the warm lobster roll which was very good. We also split a spinach salad that we had to share at the table because it was not split like we had asked. The night we went there was a rehearsal dinner going on that monopolized the kitchen. I bet on another night the experience would be better.
Service was slow and they forgot things but food was great.
Our group of 5 went out to celebrate 50 years of being together and had a wonderful time at the landing. the host is very hospitable and friendly.
Been here before, will definately come back.
Clams onion rings were very good. The mussels were OK The sauce could have had more flavor and a little more bite. Service was very good and very helpful. A good night.
The book listed hree parties with reservations this Friday evening yet we were seated to the rear of the dining room in a dark area away from the windows. The set table needed to be cleared and the copper table top cleaned thoroughly; even after, sticky spots remained. The vodka collins was watery. The haddock, if it was really haddock, was light meat not white, much like light chunk tunafish and overcooked; the taste made it barely edible. The server, not the person taking the order, placed the appetizers in front of the wrong patron in this two-person party. The person taking the order could not describe the ingredients of a dessert. Both were, however, courteous and helpful and sought requested information.
Food was tasty and prepared as we requested. Service was pleasant. We had a fairly new waitress and when she couldn't answer a question, she went to the chef and returned with the answer.
My wife end I went to the Landing at 8:30 PM on 7/1/2012 to cap off en evening at the beach. We live an hour away and found this restaurantant on Open Table. When we arrived, an older man, who I guess was the host, told us that we could have a drink at the bar and he would seat us outside "in a minute". At 8:55 we were seated outside, alone, and no waitstaff ever came out with a menu or drink request. At 9:15, alone with the mosquitos, we left with no none caring, even though the restaurant was half empty. We couldn't tell you if the food was good or not and never will go back. We ended up at Burton's Grill in Burlington, which served us home made crab cakes and a salad. Plus, the waitstaff was pleasant and attentive.
Visited this restaurant on a quiet Sunday afternoon. We got seated without any waiting. Food and service were both good. If it had been just a bit warmer, it would have been very nice to sit outside on the deck.
Great value, good portions, tasty, well prepared food, good drinks, great beer selection.
Lots of great "comfort" food, delicious salads, and apps. A new outside bar is in the process of opening soon... can't wait to try that out.
What a great surprise! We regularly dine out most every weekend somewhere from Newburyport to Yarmouth. I'd put our experience at the Landing in our top 5 restaurants. Manchester is not regularly on our pathway but recently while in town we noticed the outward appeal of the restaurant and thought we should check it out. I'm glad we did. Fantastic food and great atmosphere. Look forward to returning very soon!
It would have been nice to know that the maon dining room was not open st lunch. The pub was not the atmospherthat we wanted.
