With our Head Chef, you'll find delicious, classic British and international cuisine, with daily specials chosen from fresh, locally sourced ingredients.

A lovely historic building houses The Fat Badger. It was our 1st visit and The food, ambience and service were good. The decor of the building is lovely with a popular secret garden overlooking the Minister. Would definately return next time in York

Big outdoor courtyard garden for pre-dinner drinks, nice views of the Minster but can’t be seen due to umbrellas. The umbrellas aren’t for the sun, they are to save you from all the bird poo. They are very active! Drinks are on the expensive side. Wouldn’t recommend going for the tapas, all tiny and not worth the money. Have a starter instead. Mains were very nice. Quality of meat was impressive even in the beef burger. Could have been better with nicer chips, it cheapened the experience. Dessert tasty, honeycomb burnt. Would return, overall good-great.

Food and drinks great. Ambience excellent. Stuff very friendly and helpful but it was over an hour wait for our main course. Table next to us ordered after us but had finished their meal before ours arrived. Overall excellent except the wait.

Late dinner with my wife, fantastic meal. Enjoyed a Flat iron steak special, cooked perfectly. Also sampled the Strawberry Crumble, delicious. Can’t wait to return
