The Lakehouse - Mandeville
Beautiful view of the lake, and the staff were amazing!
Sunday Brunch is the Best on the Northshore! The Prime Rib carving station was absolutely worth the trip from any part of the parish. Bottomless Mimosas is exactly that. Our waitress Cailla was spot on with service, as was her supporting staff Cameron and Nick. 👍🍾🥂
Service was excellent and food was very good. Scallops were heavenly! Enjoyed the gumbo but a tad too salty and the wontons I’d skip next visit. Filet cooked nicely and Amberjack was delicious! Live music was a nice touch and created a lively atmosphere.
The food was creative and very tasty! The waiter was very helpful and friendly as well. The two gentlemen playing the guitars added to the mood.
We really enjoyed the food, and bottomless mimosas, what’s not to love?!
My only complaint was that my entree (Eggplant Pirogue) was deep fried, which took me by surprise. I don't remember menu indicating that it was fried. I personally don't like fried foods, so I just removed the fried crust that surrounded the eggplant. The flavor was delicious.
Great food and lovely atmosphere. Highly recommend!!
This was a great brunch. I was very impressed with the variety of food choices. The service was EXCELLENT! Our glasses stayed full. The atmosphere was great. I would recommend anyone looking for a great Sunday brunch to try this place.
The food on this buffet is the best I've ever had. It was Sunday brunch for our Valentine's Day. There was live jazz music, which was very nice too. It was rainy outside, so there was no outdoor seating. It's small inside, but it wasn't too cramped. We got a window table, which was nice. A couple times, the line got too long by the buffet. But, again, the outside was closed, so it's to be expected when everyone is inside. The food is the best, and we will be back!
The Lakehouse was very nice and the food was really good. I’d like to go back on a night that it wasn’t so busy because it was a bit loud. It was however Feb 15 and was packed. Overall we had a great experience.
Food was mediocre. Lots of noise.
We ate on The Lakehouse on Valentine's Day. While the meal was excellent, our server was even better. She was professional but friendly. Overall, we had a great experience.
The maitre d' was distracted, and not at all welcoming. We were seated at a two-top with many four tops available, and by the back door, which admitted a cold blast when guests arrived/departed. The prix fixe Valentine menu with wind tasting was at a very high price point, especially given that the wines were mediocre, the serving of duck gumbo a scant cup and untidy, the duck entre was generous, the greenbeans boring, the deserts good. Good espresso would be an asset.
Had a great lunch. Weather was perfect.
Green Tomatoes crab shrimp arugala
Blue Crab Brie Grilled Cheese with hand cut fries.
Cranberry Pecan Chicken Salad with hand cut fries.
Our waiter Eli was awesome as usual. Food was outstanding. I can’t wait to go again. Thank you
The Sunday brunch was amazing. This was our first time dining here and we will be back.
I loved the Lakehouse and the food was delicious. My only complaint was we were seated right next to the band which was loud and we could not have a conversation with one another due to the noise.
The seating area is just too cramped. The food was delicious but cold by the time you navigate back to your table. You just can’t beat the scenery. Dessert tray was gorgeous but should be in its own area with large coffee service and perhaps something for children to assemble.
Probably better for a smaller group or romantic brunch.
We wanted lunch but happened upon a Sunday Brunch Buffet. It was delicious for a buffet. I want to head back soon for their regular menu. My only complaint is that the buffet is pretty disjointed. The salads were delicious and the waffles and omelets can’t be beat! The views and the ambiance were both amazing!
Great place, delicious food with good variety, friendly staff
Will be back next Friday! Different set of friends.
This is the best place to go for Sunday brunch. There is a wide variety of food and it's fresh and delicious. The staff is very attentive to diners. I can't wait to go back!
One word that sums up everything...amazing. We went for the Sunday brunch and couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Best brunch in town.
Fabulous and consistently delicious! A gem of a restaurant!
I was disappointed with overall experience due to the loud music in a small space. We asked for another table further away from the combo (especially loud trumpet) in the bar but was told none available. Actually there was a table in the bar area that was empty the whole time we were there. That is not what I would call good “service”.
It was impossible to carry on a conversation. I have been to many jazz brunches but none were that loud.
The view of the lake is lost due to no service upstairs other than private parties.
We went for Sunday Brunch - the food was overall very good, however some of the items could have been warmer (in other words some of the food was a little cold). The wait staff was very friendly. They have a small jazz ensemble playing for brunch - while the music was good it was a little loud (especially the trumpet player) - this could be toned down a little.
Overall it was very pleasant brunch with a nice atmosphere.
We always enjoy the brunch at the Lakehouse. The service is on point and the food is excellence!
Once again, our experience at the Lakehouse was deliciously wonderful! We asked for a table where we could view the Saints thinking this wouldn't happen since we had a party of 12, but the set up was fantastic... just like the game! The service, food, ambiance, and overall experience was first rate! Each time we have gone to the Lakehouse, whether it was for a shower, brunch, or dinner, it's always been exceptional. Thank you Lakehouse!!
I don’t normally write reviews, but this experience has made an exception. I will preface by saying we do eat here quite a bit and have enjoyed the weekend brunches for many years. Each time, we have had very positive experiences. This time, however , fell very short of our previous visits.
We made reservations for Valentines since our son and wife were in town. We were seated promptly, but waited a very long time for someone to come to the table. We ordered 3 filets and a fish dish from the preset menu. When the food finally arrived they were not cooked to the correct temps and all dishes were cold. In addition, the waiter brought two steak knives and stated he would return with the third. After nearly 10 minutes, the knife arrived. For the value it was definitely not a $300 dollar meal.
Always a great experience! Can’t beat the view on a beautiful day. Santa was great too!!
The food was wonderful. My only complaint was that some of the sauces were lukewarm. It would also be nice to have a cocktail menu.
By far, the best Sunday experience in the New Orleans area. Food, service, atmosphere, value, are off the charts. Throw in the view, the historic building and grounds? Unreal. If you haven’t gone, all I can say is why not?
Literally the most perfect evening celebrating our anniversary. Our server, Eli, gave us the most attentive service and went above and beyond for us. Chef Pete prepared amazing food and visited our table to make sure it was cooked to our liking. (Which is was, of course!) Everything was just phenomenal. Thank you Lakehouse!
Great place, great people. Wonderful ambience on the lake!
Celebrated birthdays and friendship!! Wonderful food and view!
The best Sunday brunch around.
We totally loved our dining experience at The Lakehouse. The music is such a nice touch to create a great atmosphere but still with an upscale feel. Food & wine were wonderful as well as the service. Will be back more often.
Food and service was outstanding! Ran out of olives for our martini's, which baffles me, and internet was down, so workers taking turns with their playlists to provide some atmosphere, which worked out. The sunset outside the beautiful windows was breathtaking and we enjoyed the experience. We will go back and we recommend it.
