As always, it was a great place for Sunday brunch. Loved the food, service, and ambiance.
Beautiful restaurant with views of lake. Rustic and modern interior. The service and food was exceptional.
We went with high expectations after reading the reviews but overall, sadly the meal was mediocre and very overpriced for what you get. We had the Caesar salad and bison ribs to start. Frankly I've had better salads at Boston pizza and the ribs were dry. The salad was 90% romaine ribs and very bitter. I know bison is a very lean meat but really it should be cooked properly to avoid drying out. The main course was the beef tenderloin which actually was the best thing about the whole meal. The potatoes were overcooked and the veg were oddly mushy and undercooked at the same time. We also had the salmon which was VERY dry and unappealing and the veg again were mushy and overcooked.
The one bright spot was our wait staff who was nice and attentive.
We won't be back and certainly won't be recommending The Lake House to anyone. Really an unfortunate expensive experience that was not worth our time or money.
My husband and I decided to finally get away and have a date night. First time at the restaurant after finding info. about it online which came highly recommended. Very clean, quiet and comfortable with an amazing view of the (unfortunately frozen) lake. Appetizers and main course were amazing so kudos to the kitchen staff and chef! Our server was Darcy who was exceptional; very professional and always at our table so we did not feel forgotten about. We have already planned to bring my brother and sister-in-law to The Lake House towards the end of May for a well deserved night out. Thank you! It made for a perfect date night!
Fantastic as usual!
It was a brunch with friends to celebrate my birthday.
I’m thinking because it was Easter brunch the kitchen was busier than normal. It took just over an hour to get our food and with two children and two grandparents it made the overall experience mediocre. I would definitely go back with hubby in the evening. Loved the decor and menu.
There were 3 of us for Easter Sunday Brunch.
More staff were needed as the staff working were doing their best, but
we had a long wait for our appetizers & main course.
The Pumpkin Beignets & Eggs Benedict were delicious!
We were disappointed in the small portion of the Dutch Pancake,
which was yummy.
Disappointed that we were sat so far from window even tho window was requested & 2 tables were vacant & we were still seated the farthest away! Super expensive $50 per person for an average brunch. Disappointing.
Service was great. Ambiance was beautiful. Food was good (especially the fish plank) but French toast was underwhelming. I think if they had a couple more brunch options with better execution, this place could be a home run.
Service was friendly and professional. Food was delicious and well presented.
Phenomenal as always! This is THE place to eat out in Calgary. Amazing food, service and view!
The food was amazing. Very good service and great view and ambiance. We will return.
Came here with a group of ladies for my mom's 90th birthday! Beautiful setting with a lovely fireplace. Everyone had fun and loved the food and wine. Food was excellent. Sticky toffee pudding was a great birthday dessert. A couple of comments at our table that the chairs were uncomfortable -- a bit too hard on the seat.
Highly recommend this restaurant.
Great all around dining experience!
A girls brunch with my 2 granddaughters and my daughter in law. Best brunch place in Calgary. So loved everything we had. Delicious and ambience is beautiful. A great place to go and will be back frequently. It truly is a neighborhood gem. Thank you.
Everything was great other than our waiter. He was nice enough, just extremely awkward. Like very, very awkward.
We had a wonderful time! It was so quiet We were there for my wife’s birthday lunch. Christine looked after us and was very pleasant. We enjoyed the Charcuterie and the mains after were great! The view, service, and ambiance would bring us back again!
Darcy was a fantastic server who made the entire experience extra special for my sisters birthday.
I really enjoyed my brunch at the lake house. The food was delicious, the servers were very professional.
Went in for brunch to check out the place - my fiance has never been and we're debating having our wedding here. I've been there before for a birthday dinner as well. Service is great and food is amazing! I was pleasantly surprised that their cocktails are not super overpriced.
Had a wonderful time. Fantastic service and great food.
Exceptional food and romantic atmosphere. Will keep coming back here! LOVE LOVE LOVE this place!!!
Great wonderful food and service.
The food was exceptional. It totally surpassed our expectations. Also a pleasant surprise that we were greeted with prosecco in celebration of our anniversary. One of those places where you want to order everything on the menu just to see how amazing it is.
We went here for my brother inlaw's birthday and it was amazing. Very nice scenery. Food was excellent, service was remarkable.
Lunch was lovely. Our table had the best of both worlds- near the fireplace but also adjacent to the window. The service was friendly and efficient. We were relaxed and never felt rushed as we lingered over lunch. The menu has a nice variety to suit all tastes. This was a special occasion as we celebrated my guest's birthday, and her dessert was adorned with candle and a chocolate wafer with Happy Birthday written on it. I recommend The Lake House to anyone desiring a casually elegant atmosphere, delicious food and friendly service.
So impressed! I took my husband here for his birthday. What a gem! Great view. Great food.Great staff. We will definitely come back.
The food was impeccable and the atmosphere was perfect for date night. Our server was incredibly friendly, knowledgeable, and offered us a great sample of a different bottle of wine after some great discussion about the bottle we got. C
Beautiful room with relaxing view over the water / ice depending on the season. Food is always very good and service is friendly... a gem in South Calgary.
Since this establishment is fine dining, I expected the same for lunch. It was very disappointing. The menu has burger & fries, fish and chips, pasta, quiche, etc. The fries were terrible! They were thin cut and crunchy/too hard to use your fork to pick them up. Possibly stale potatoes? The main itself was good and the sauces were homemade. I've been here for dinner which was great! Would not recommend lunch. Service at lunch was not as friendly either.
We've been here a few times and the place, food, and service is second to none. I picked this place to bring my wife for our wedding anniversary lunch. Sulvie really took good care of us and make the lunch experience even better. The winter scene around is special having been here in summer and fall the first few times. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a great place for special occasions and everyday place to have a quiet, cozy, and relaxing meal...romantic too.
Great Food. Great Service. Excellent ambience. Highly recommended.
We went for Sunday brunch and had a wonderful meal. We ordered the duck confit croquettes, the Mixed Grill, Sticky toffee pudding and pumpkin creme brulee. Overall, very happy will the taste and presentation. Will definitely return and happy to bring friends next time.
Watching a game of pickup hockey on the man-made rink was enjoyable. A little bit of Canadiana from the past.
Food and service from Darcy was amazing. Always loved coming to the Lakehouse but this time, everything was perfect! Definitely recommend to others!! For appetizers, we had the mussels and lobster ravioli- the mussels in sauce was so good that Darcy brought us more bread to soak it up. So so good!
Our son’s had the bison and they said that it was all perfectly cooked, the cheese fondue was to die for. My husband had the wild boar with the pork belly and he said it was the best he ever had. I had the ribeye and can’t stop thinking about how perfectly seasoned and food it was.
Great service, quiet, lovely view of Lake Bonavista, delicious food and good wine list. We will definitely visit again.
It was my wife's birthday and she wanted to spend it here. It was a great night spending it with friends over terrific food ( I had the duck and shared the mussels, both I would recommend), and del8cious drinks. The service was good. I'm not the best to judge that, as I think my wife's services 😎 are better, honestly she is a server too. With the cold weather outside and the snowy views it was especially nice to sit in front the gigantic fireplace.
It was a great night overall. One that I know my wife won't forget.
We love going to the Lake House Restaurant for Sunday brunch. The menu is exquisite and the service is impeccable. The staff is friendly and accommodating. I wish though, that they would add a gluten free, vegetarian dish.
