Estuvimos en dos ocasiones esta misma semana con mi hijo en oportunidad de nuestros cumpleaños que fueron el 16 y 18 de noviembre. Excelente la atención, la variedad de ensaladas, entradas ,cortes de carne, buen vino, al mejor estilo de una parrilla argentina pero en Orlando, realmente nos sentimos "como en casa". Sigan así. Ah me olvidaba, el precio muy accesible ya que se trata de un "tenedor libre" como solemos decir. Exitos.!!!!!
This Orlando restaurant is very bad. I've eaten many times at a their Miami location, which is excellent. Their Orlando restaurant can be described in one word "awful". An awful selection of poor quality meat, that was too tough to chew. Perhaps they use this tourist area restaurant to sell off meat they wouldn't dare serve in Miami.
We went to the Knife on a group on as a group of business ladies that wanted a "nice" dinner out. We were expecting a Brazilian restaurant atmosphere but received much less. The selection of meats was very limited only 2 types of steak, 2 types of chicken, 2 types of fish, etc...The salmon the best thing on the menu ran our extremely fast and we got there early. Instead of the traditional hot bar you have a choice of mash potatoes, fries, sweet potato fries which the server brings to the table cold.
The atmosphere is not what you expect for $35+ a person. I am a parent so I understand kids will be kids but there is a time and place for all types of behavior. We had kids from 2 tables away running up and down between the tables and the meat counter unsupervised, kids with balloon animals swinging in the air to the point one of our group was hit in the head several times, and then an older child who was purposefully knocking her chair over into our table every time she stood up: one time hitting a lady in our group, the other time knocking a glass of sangria over, a final time hitting the chair of another lady in our group. We politely said excuse the last time someone was physically touched to only have the mom respond threatening us verbally and physically. This wasn't the worst part....
The worst was the reverse racism. If we had been "latino" looking or Spanish speaking our service would have been much better, like all the other tables around us. However, being 3 white women we never saw our server after the drinks were first delivered....not even to bring us a bill that we had to ask the manager for
We had a wonderful time at the Knife. As a first time visitor, we didn't know exactly the procedure. We had to find someone to explain it to us and how and when to pay, etc. Once that was done, we got to enjoy their amazing food. The chicken was a little dry, but all of the steak options were amazing. Had plenty of flavor and was filling. The meat servers were a little rude, but that probably comes from everyone asking "What's that?" - as there are not signs on the meats to let people know.
All in all, probably one of the best meals I had in Orlando during my visit.
It was filthy
I went to the the one in Miami and I thought it was going to be the same way but what a disappointment,filthy place with flies and smells old cooking oil,the meat people didn't look like they know what they were doing.only the wine was good and the waitress also was good but I don't think I will be visiting that place again
The overall experience was good.
Our server was great, we were just disappointed in the food.
The filet was perfectly cooked, but it was so bland! No butter, salt, nothing.
The chicken and pork were seasoned nicely, but they were incredibly dry. (Go figure).
We had gotten a Groupon for this restaurant to try it out and I'm glad we didn't spend anymore then we had. It was a good first time but we won't be returning.
Have been there about 10 times. Each time got worse as far as waiting time for food as well as portions that they serve. They always say that the more popular cuts of meat are not "ready" and to come back in a few minutes which guess what? Puts you back in line for another 10 minutes. Arhgggggggg.. no más for me. Very disappointed. MY expectations were high because I have eaten at Argentinian steakhouses and really enjoyed it. However, as soon as I walked in and got a glimpse of the atmosphere and salad bar, I knew that this was a lower end steakhouse. The salad bar was not much better than any mid grade restaurant. I do not believe that they use the highest quality meat available. The filet was an acceptable but lower quality than what I'm accustomed to. Just felt the groupon did not make the restaurant worthwhile at all.
The restaurant was dirty with moldy lemons on salad bar. Our table area smelled like the drain in the back trash area of any food place. The meat was cold, way out of USDA range for safe food. The person who served meat dropped steak on the floor- he used the tongs to pick it up and throw the steak away, then served our steak with those same tongs. We left and requested a refund from Groupon, after notifying their manager. The sides came cold and the ketsup tasted very vinigary. I would not recommend ever going here for any occasion. We ended up at TGI Friday's who totally made up for this awful experience.
The place is overpriced. We went there with four adults 3 children all three of our children were full price because of their height although they don't really eat that much we still had to pay full price. As my sister and I were up at the grill area one of the workers took the tip jar and put it between us which was very rude. All the cooks behind the grill we're back there speaking Spanish the whole time we were up there. All of the meat and stuff on the grill was cold because they cook it on the back real and move it to the front grill where you walk by but if you get steak and you want it cooked a certain way it's cold and you they don't warm it up anymore. For example I like my steak medium rare, and all of it was already cooked and cold when they gave it to me. If you like it cooked more than that then they put it back on the grill to cook it, although I did overhear one of the cooks say to someone that one of the pieces of meat was well done so I guess that would have been cold too. One good thing I would say about this place is the service we had from our waitress was good.
I would be willing to give The Knife - Orlando another try since we were there on an off time but my initial experience wasn't stellar. The steak was cool and the chicken dry and both were a little tough. I would be interested to see if the experience would be the same during a peak time when all the grill items were fresh.
Areas for improvement is customer service and the meat station. More customer service training: for example there was no greeting from the hostess as they were on the phone and the bartender had to acknowledge them to attend us the patrons. All they had to do is to address the caller by stating "My I place you on a brief hold while I assist my guests" and we would have been seated in a timely manner. Most of the staff seemed anoid just being there. Also, have a fly issue near the meat station. The way it's designed has the back door exiting towards the trash area causing these flies to enter where all the consumables are, it is a health concern and must be addressed. Overall, it is centrally located near the attractions, hotels, but will not be dining there anytime soon.
Decent Argentinian azado restaurant. Service is good. Compared to other locations in South Florida...the Orlando one doesn't give you as much value. Seem to be too much a la carte and nicks and diming on sodas, empanadas, deserts etc. Overall ok but not a place I will frequent. Many more choices providing higher quality meals, better atmosphere and overall better value. A solid 3 star experience where a strong 4 is so achievable.
Food was just Ok, bought the two for $50 Groupon which was a savings of about $6 per person - didn't realize that instead of giving us the normal dinner meal at a discount (which is what I am used to with Groupons) that the drink and the dessert was subtracted. Had a party of three so had to buy one meal regular price - wine that came with the meal was horribly dry - and undrinkable for my wife and I. Hindsight 20/20 we should have just stick with Texas de'Brazil. Food and experience way better.
Meat believe it or not off the grill....cold, tough, and tasteless. Not good at all. I tried everything up there. The only thing that was remotely tasty was sausage which was rather pink inside so I was even nervous to fully eat that. Will not be going back! Way Overpriced as well!
