The Knife Restaurant - Bayside Ratings and Reviews
Argentinian buffet at Bayside on the water. Great value (bottle of wine comped with the meal - a Beringer, but drinkable) and if your expectations aren't too high, great food as well. The apps and salad bar were the stars. The grill, where you go and select what you want, was hit and miss, but the steak and blue cheese sausage were stand outs.
The restaurant provides excellent fresh food & choices; all Argentinian as it says! The only thing was that I was expecting also the waitress to be Argentinian but they weren't & I struggled understanding their Spanish. It can get a little loud which I didn't mind but it may be due to the groups. The service was excellent anyway & located my family & I as preferred by the bayside view. Unfornutately this was an option only available by the phone & not by Opentable.
Food is Amazing as always. Service is OK. The waitress was not bad but she didn't bring all that we asked for and charged us for things we didn't (the light up kids glasses and strawberry lemonade that is to be included). I didn't complain as it was my birthday and the price of this items she charged without us even asking for came out to be the same amount as my meal which was comped as it was my birthday. So I took it as an even trade. Overall its good.
The meat from the grill was cold and dired up. We were there on a Thrusday evening. I guess you need to go when it is really busy. Also, compared to previous times it appears that the salad bar is much smaller. I liked to go there but I guess I'll wait for good reviews to come back before returning to the Knife
I read the bad reviews online but I didn't listen since sometimes not all reviews are accurate.
I was willing to give them a chance. My family and I were going to a concert nearby and I decided to make reservations to have a nice meal before.
I'm really not a picky eater. I'm usually happy with an average meal.
Please don't waste your time and money going to this place. The meat is just terrible, terrible, terrible. Smells bad, tastes bad....just a horrible and disappointing experience.
The only thing edible were the French fries. Thats basically the only thing we ended up eating.
Horrible restaurant, not sure how its still in business....
The only reason I'm writing this review is so that this doesn't happen to anyone else.
I did not complain to them, we just quietly paid and left but I felt like a fool having to pay for that meal. Totally unacceptable.
Hope this doesn't happen to you.
A slightly different twist to argentine/Brazilian charcuteries! Instead of servers coming around with skewers of meat, you walk to the grill and select your choice and cuts of meat. The seasoning of what I had chicken and fish were spot on. The salad bar was creative, full of variety and extremely tasty! I would visit again!
If you don't like meat don't come. The weak salad bar and lack of sides left a little to be desired. But all the meat was amazing. The charcoal grill is the absolute star and it makes everything they put on it have an incredible wood smoke flavor. The chorizo, ribs, short ribs, pork loin, skirt steak, peppers and onions with cheese, bacon wrapped chicken breast, 1/4 chickens. All fantastic. Went back for seconds and thirds.
Our waitress was pretty un attentive and she didn't speak English very well so it was kind of hard to understand her for drinks and desserts. Don't go unless you have 1.5 - 2 hours for dinner. We were there as a party of 4 for 3 full hours.
Overall a pretty good dinner that I would absolutely go for again. I have already recommended it to 3 or 4 friends that are visiting the Miami area soon.
My second time at this location in almost 8 years. First time I was impressed. This time it was not as impressive. The side dishes are ok...but nothing special. I recall it was a lot more diverse.
The wine is nothing to brag about. But then again, you wouldn't expect a good bottle of wine when its given away fro "free".
The highlight of the evening was the meat. Many choices and outstanding flavor.
I would recommend this location IF you have a discount coupon or just to try it out for the first time. I don't think I will be returning.
We were a party of 12 celebrating a few birthdays. It was easy to make reservations. The staff seemed nice with the exception of our server who was not personable. She seemed annoyed at having to serve our large group. Other than that, food was great. Large variety. Felt a little rushed though when having to select the meats I wanted. There's no sign indicating what there is
Food choices were way better than Texas de Brazil with meats, sausage, poultry and fish. All very tasty. Salads had abundant varieties to choose from. I spent most of my return trips there as I worked through all the fresh choices. The staff was awesome. Very friendly and always spot on when you needed them.
I think this restaurant can be much better than it is. I felt like I was at an expensive Bonanza or Ponderosa. Some of the meat felt like higher quality but other cuts felt like very low quality full of fat. It seems like they give you more "other stuff" to offset the meat not being the best quality like each person can choose either a bottle of wine or 2 beers or free soda. I would probably not go here again at the cost of $28.95/person. The view is really nice and our server was very friendly.
