Pan seared salmon, curried couscous, grilled asparagus, lobster bisque, lemon-basil butter.
Fried brussels sprouts, applewood bacon, goat cheese, tomato-basil vinaigrette, almonds.
Vanilla brioche, butter, maple syrup.
This is a classic with a view of the park. Perfect outdoor seating for relaxing and people watching. The server was wonderful, attentive, and truly enjoying her day. The food is great, creative, and served hot. We enjoyed the whole experience.
It was a perfect day to sit outdoors and enjoy the weather. Service was attentive but not overbearing. Drinks were good and food excellent. A nice place and we will go back.
Love the Knick! Always great food, excellent drinks, and service. My favorite place when coming into Milwaukee to dine.
We've eaten here several times over the years and they have really improved their menu and the quality of their food. We were downtown for an event and wanted to eat outside. The Knick was most accommodating and all six in our party were impressed with the food.
Ang was just the best waitress!!! My friend and I had a great time!
First trip to the Knick. Outdoor seating on the porch under a wide awning overlooking the park. Service was great and the food was very nice. I had the salmon sandwich and my husband had the Ahi BLT. We totally enjoyed the experience and the food. Would definitely return. Great spot for lunch.
The Knick is a classic, chic urban restaurant. The atmosphere is always bustling, the food good and the cocktails excellent. Usually, they also have a great playlist going, but last night is was a seemingly uncurated, bland and distracting 80's mix.
We had a great time with our friend visiting from out of the country. Our server was outstanding and super attentive and friendly. I wish I could remember her name but she was a younger blonde young lady. The food was also great and the portions were generous.
Very enjoyable brunch on the patio…Excellent food and service
The Knick does an amazing brunch, but definitely the highlight was our great server, Johnny. He was attentive, funny and just a great server. Food and drinks were also stellar!
Great food, great service, great outdoor seating, the best of everything
Arrived for our reservation but was not greeted by anyone. We decided to leave.
Long wait for table, service, order. Apparently short a cook or two. But an hour and a half before food arrives is a bit much.
Can you give us any compensation for the wait. No.
Would be better to be direct with customers at the front end - or at least considerate at the back end...
Nice outside dining that we’ve really missed.
Cole our server was excellent. Food plentiful and delicious. Fun spot on the lakefront area
Based on all the good reviews, we had high hopes for the knick. Sadly, the post covid labor shortage really showed. The server tried his best but was overwhelmed. We received not one, but two drinks with lipstick on the glasses. Food and drinks took forever to get with multiple reminders about orders needed. When the food finally did arrive, we didn't even have silverware. We sat outside and many delivery trucks parked right in front of the patio which killed the ambiance. Food was pretty good when we had the option to eat it, but all the other issues spoiled the experience.
The outside patio was busy and Maggie seemed overly stressful! I ordered the beef sliders, which were way overdone and she messed up in our drink order twice! Not what I would say was the best we have had in the past! We are regular customers and I was truly disappointed!
I believe you probably need more help at Happy Hr. Thank you, Susan
Menu had many possible good options. Hard to choose. Excellent service. We had a nice quiet space inside for six of us. Will return to try something else.
We purposely arrived for our reservation half an hour early with the intention of having a drink at the bar before dinner. The bar area was pretty full, so we stood at the end, in no way blocking the service station. The bartender came down and told us we couldn’t stand there and was not very cordial in delivering that message. To the extent that my husband thought she was kidding. This set the tone for the service the rest of the evening. On the positive side, we had a table out on the patio by ourselves for most of our dinner and it was lovely. Our meals (Brussel sprouts and tater tot appetizers, short rib and burger main course) were absolutely delicious! Hats off to the chef! Our server, however could not have been less interested in our experience. We literally had to ask for everything. Drinks were empty or just about so, but she wouldn’t ask if we wanted another. She never asked how our meal was and we want long stretches of time between service. When she did engage, it was obvious she could care less about us.
All in all:
Food & beverages = A+
Service = D-
The young man I checked in with was the most unfriendly person. To be in the restaurant business, one needs to smile; and, at least appear to like people. Service was slow and several items on the menu were unavailable.
Subpar food and service. Definitely won’t be going back. Not worth the money.
Only bad thing was shortage of help, 25 minutes before acknowledged by a server. She said lack of help. Seems to be everywhere.
Food was excellent and service was much better after getting our drinks
Perhaps the rudest experience we have ever had at a restaurant. We will never return. Everyone has a bad or difficult night, just don’t lie about it.
The wait staff needs more help and perhaps more training, but I suspect that can be said of virtually all Milwaukee restaurants.
Great service, food, and bar. Great menu selection
Food and service were average. The bread pudding was dry and uninteresting.
We went to the Knick for brunch on the 4th of July and it was a great experience! Our food was absolutely delicious- I would highly recommend the breakfast quesadilla it was so good and the portion was huge. We sat outside and the ambience was lovely.
The Knick’s brunch is a great go-to - consistent food quality and varied menu with ample drink options. Option indoor-outdoor dining is great. So happy they are in the neighborhood and open on holidays!
We were at the Knick to celebrate a 90th birthday. Everyone's food was delicious. Our server was attentive. A good time was had by all!
Fantastic place! We sat outside and enjoyed the view of the park, with lake in the distance. Cocktails were great, food was even better. Loved the brussel sprouts for apps, halibut & salmon for dinner. Service was spot on. Thanks, Alyson!
the El Jefe was a great start with tuna tartar, and our meals ( short rib for me, tofu salad for spouse) were excellent. Server was pleasant and engaging without being pushy or intrusive
Everything front the cocktails to the entrees was absolutely amazing; we will be back ASAP!!!
Food was very good. Ate outside on patio. Pretty view
Have not been to the Knick in over a year. Food was as good as I remembered - portion was somewhat smaller on the salads but overall very good.
We were with friends for breakfast at what was formerly our favorite after church restaurant. Both the service and the food were problems. Where is the coffee? Why was I served someone else's order? Why is there sand or what is it in the omelette? Waited for the third try on that omelette and was finally able to eat. Again, where is the coffee? Where is the check? Simply a bad experience with a simple fix. Breakfast somewhere else!
A really good local gem. It's close to the lake, has a really nice covered patio, and excellent drinks.
The food was way over price for what you got. The portions were tiny and much of my salad Wasabi. It took forever to get drinks and when the drinks came we are brought the wrong drink
Overall very good and would return if in the area. Our server was cool, attentive, etc. great martinis. Good food in general. No complaints. I reserve 5* ratings for truly exceptional places, 4 * here, definitely worth a try.
Fresh and delicious food. Great wait staff. Friendly place.
Love being outside especially next to the terrace railing where it's not too noisy (there are echoes under the awning) and the view is outstanding. Wonderful service on my most recent visit
