The Kitchen Ratings and Reviews
Food was good, service friendly but unprofessional. Had to ask for things several times, nobody served the wine from the bottle, food was not served to everybody at the same time, one of the servings was returned since it was cold.
Last year was much better!
Because we were there in off-season, the chefs were trying a new idea: cuisine from another country. This year they were cooking food from Cuba. It was excellent. My only disappointment was that they did not have their usual selection of tapas, so we had to order a main course. It was delicious, and I wish they had offered those selections in tapas form. Service, as usual, was excellent.
The cuban menu was outstanding. The scallop dish with pork belly was one of the best dishes I have had in years. My wife's pork chop was excellent. Whenever the Kitchen has their special menus they are a real treat not to be missed. Creole is next. We will be there
We were traveling through Jackson and found favorable review for this restaurant so decided to give it a try. Everything about it was enjoyable. It was off-season so they were experimenting with menu items and when we dined the theme was food with a Cuban influence. I would definitely recommend this restaurant and I would return.
pork belly lobster sliders and tuna tartados were both yummy. I had the pork chop which was very good. the mustard bourbon glaze was more like a grain mustard topping than a glaze and was a little overpowering for me but still good overall. my husband had the tenderloin which was delicious and cooked perfectly. ended our meal with the delicious baked chocolate chip cookie with ice cream. would definitely recommend this restaurant.
2nd time coming to the Kitchen for dinner, once with friends for a birthday, this time for a date. It was great for both occations, the staff was polite and friendly and efficient at their jobs. This cocktails were delicious and the food was cooked perfectly. We had the chicken and lamb burger, i would recommend both. The pork-belly and lobster sliders were so delicous.
From the hanger-like interior decoration of the room, to the lack-luster greeting and attention of our waitress, to small portions with no real distinctive taste along with not so small prices, we didn't have a good experience here which was disappointing.
We had a server who was so loud and frenetic we thought he was on speed. He was generally a good server( he recommended an amazing wine), but the over-the-top vibe was not conducive to a relaxing meal. That said, the steelhead sashimi was amazing, the tenderloin roll was flavorful, and the squid ink pasta rocked. The trout was weird: tasty, but not a filet, and not a stir-fry. It needed an identity (and it was a bit small for the price). All-in-all, a very mixed experience.
We arrived during happy hour and it took quite some time to have the first server approach our table, even though there was only one other table occupied. However, once we ordered our drinks the service picked up. Our server was friendly, informative and promptly exchanged one of our companion's drinks when it didn't suit her. We felt the happy hour drink menu was limited and no one at our table was crazy about the choice they made - too spicy and too strong of an alcohol taste of the two different drinks we tried. Had we paid full price for the drinks it would have been hard to take. Our shared appetizer was very generous in portion size and delicious. Our entree choices were creative and flavorful. We shared three desserts and they were all terrific. All in all, a good birthday celebration and would definitely consider a return trip.
Sat outside which was lovely. Had several appetizers including Ahi Tuna Octopus and shrimp. All thumbs up.
I loved my greek salad. Fresh with interesting flavors and not over dressed.
Everyone loved their entree. Moon fish, Salmon, Pablano Chile. We ate at several restaurants in town and the Kitchen was our favorite. Nice wine selection too.
Love the contemporary decor . Jackson needed this establishment!
The Kitchen was our first night dinner in Jackson WY. We sat outside on the patio on 8/26 and we're lucky enough to have unseasonably warm temps. Our waitress Jay was knowledgeable and attentive but not overly so. She knew the menu and beverages well and helped answer our many questions. We ordered two apps, porkbelly and lobster sliders and tuna tartare. Both riveled food we have had in the finest D.C. Restaurants. Flavors exploded in our mouths! We shared an entree, thick cut pork chop and it was cooked to perfection! We would return in a heartbeat!!
Our first visit and it did not disappoint. My wife had the seaweed salad to start and the shrimp appetiser for her main course which was more than adequate. I had the chicken which was good but I did comment at the time that it would benefit with less potato and more of the other vegetables, it was a little dry. We both enjoyed our visit.
