I loved the food and our server, I absolutely hated the noise level. The place could have been so lovely--nice decor with very sleek furniture, but the volume was out of control. Neither my date nor I tend to be terribly outspoken and I was hoping for a quiet, classy experience similar to the restaurant previously in that location, but the gorgeous view of the river has been minimized and the acoustics are terrible for conversation. If you're hoping for a more intimate experience, skip this one.

I was very impressed with The Kitchen! Had the 1/2 chicken and it was delicious! I am gluten and dairy free and they were happy to accommodate. The spicy margarita is a must as well! Our server was friendly and prompt! Overall a fantastic experience! We will for sure be back!

The salad I ordered as decent, but, the Asian entrée was weak. Serves me right for expecting a general menu restaurant to serve good Asian dishes.

Food was very average and service was poor... Never saw the server again after they delivered our food. We had to flag down a different server to request our bill.

Why put out-of-season styrofoam tomatoes on a sandwich?
Server too up-close and personal. Try discretion, reserve, dignity, class, yet be attentive.
Typical Midwest tacky

If Wolfgang Puck's wasn't so conveniently located for a pre-concert dinner, I wouldn't go back. The menu, as well as the food, is underwhelming. A big disappointment.

I so wish we could of had a table with a view of the river but nonetheless our time there was very nice. Went with my daughter for mother/daughter date and will definitely be back with the husband-will request a river view table!

Front desk service needs improvement. Terrible attitude. We had a reservation & arrived early (less than a half hour) & were rudely told we had to wait for our reservation time. This restaurant is a great spot but struggles with service where it should be. Clearly understaffed as well during the holidays with several events going on that night in the city.

Everything was better then expected! Our reservation was at 5 pm and needed to be changed at the last minute to 6 pm. Staff was courteous and able to accommodate us. We accidentally left some items on the table. Shortly thereafter we received a call from the restaurant telling us that our lost items are being held at the front desk until we can retrieve them. Nice of them to collect the merchandise, call, and hold it for us. Atmosphere, service, and food were all excellent. Thank you!

The food was fabulous. We were seated right away but the service was so slow. We waited 10 minutes after being seated for anyone to approach our table and it was not a full house.

Always love going to Wolfgang Puck. Had a mostly great meal, but the daily soup was watery and bland. Entrees were stellar. Service was good, but wish the server had talked to us about parking, as we needed a receipt for the valet. Manager stepped in and took care of it. Other very small detail that needed attention....water spotted wine glasses and silverware. These probably would not have been evident in another room, but there is an abundance of natural light here. All in all, still love it, still want to go back.

It was a great experience. We got seated straight away and had a lovely server named Christian. We were seeing a musical so we had a time limit, but everything was good. The food was great and the only thing I would say is that it was a little pricey, but it was still really good!

We had excellent service this time. Ambrosia was our waitress. She was attentive and even took time to learn our names and called us by them as she served or asked questions. Sometimes this restaurant is packed pre-theatre before a DeVos Hall performance next door, and occasionally has been understaffed and backed up. We made an early reservation (5:30) to give ourselves a good 1.5 hours before walking through the buildings to the performance hall. This was not the case this time. We were served in a timely manner and the restaurant was nowhere near full. Two diners in our party had the Pad Thai, I had the burger, another, the meatloaf and the last, an asian noodle dish. All were prepared to our liking. Ambrosia was very knowledgable about the menu and the cocktail offerings. We like using The Kitchen for the convenience factor of parking, eating and watching a performance all in one giant connected building, allowing us to even leave our coats behind in the car, during colder months, since we'll never step foot outside the entire time.

Underwhelming sums it up in every area.
From the guy answering the phone who had never heard of a corking fee to the too loud restaurant and underwhelming food. Caesar salad was overpriced at $10. Greens were tasteless. Restaurant has no anchovies! Unheard of. And on and on.

We decided to spend a weekend exploring Grand Rapids. We made reservations to try The Kitchen based on menu and reputation. Our dinner was excellent with superb service. The next night, with symphony tickets, we had selected another restaurant to visit. We decided to cancel that reservation and return to The Kitchen. We had an even better meal, the same superb service, and had plenty of time to make it to the symphony, through the connecting walkway. Highly recommend this location, with great food, superb service, and the river view.

Overall a good experience - food was good - but a bit spicy. Was seated in a dark corner - made a last minute reservation, but there appeared to be other available tables in a more lighted area of the restaurant. Server was outstanding.
