The Keystone fosters a social atmosphere with traditional Bay Area cuisine. Located in the center of San Francisco, the restaurant has a full bar with unique mixed drinks, such as the Skywalker, made of Scotch, honey, lime, Pernod and star anise. Executive Darren Jackson prepares American cuisine with an international influence. The Keystone is a great place for co-workers to meet, friends to socialize and groups to hold parties.
Patrons of The Keystone can enjoy tasty starters such as roasted cauliflower and oysters on the half shell. A bar menu offers burgers, fries, bacon wrapped prawns and wings. Dinner and lunch menus are available, and the restaurant is open Monday to Friday from 11:30 a.m. to midnight. Bar opening at 4:00 pm on weekends.
The food was great can't go wrong with the chicken sandwich or the chorizo sandwich.
The service was fantastic very attentive and provided great recommendations.
A pleasant experience with excellent attentive service. The menu is rather limited, could use more small plates on the menu. Overall, enjoyed dinner and the kids did too.
I always return to this place. It is conveniently located for a number of things I do downtown. The waitstaff is awesome and it is a friendly place with a good menu and a pleasant atmosphere.
Service was terrible - Continually had to get waiters attention for water refills The Halibut was overcooked, and took nearly 2 hours to finish our meal.
We mentioned this at the end of the meal, and didn't seem to care one way or the other.
My friend was 30 minutes late so I wound up ordering without him. My salad came out pretty quickly and was decent taste and portion. My friend arrived and he wound up ordering the same thing as me, so we sat for another 30 minutes but no salad came. I eventually gave him the rest of my salad since I only hate half (see above re: decent sized portions) and we cancelled his order. They were super apologetic and wound up comping our meal, even though we only ordered essentially 1 salad which was really nice of them.
This was the perfect place to go after a movie at Metreon! Good food at reasonable prices in a pleasant room.
Nice venue for a business lunch. Not too noisy, efficient service, food good.
Bacon wrapped shrimp was very flavorful and not overly rich. Great cocktails.
Very salty food, the price does not match the quality, and the ambiance is mediocre. Was disappointed.
Food sucked. Pork Loin had a bad taste. Service and ambiance is good, though.
I don’t know why more locals don’t come here. The food is delicious, service is quick and friendly, and I think it’s a good value for the quality and ambiance you’re getting.
The food was great and the atmosphere fun. Strongly recommend a reservation because seating is limited.
Excellent Find in SF - really great staff. Food was excellent, save for the pizza that seemed undercooked and soggy - needs a bit more time in the over to firm up he crust. Great appetizers and fun drinks.
We chose this spot because it was across the street from our hotel. It looks dark from the outside but the interior feels open and airy. The food was good and the service was excellent.
Great service and delicious food! We liked the decor too.
Great food and great service! The setting was nice, not very noisy and good space.
Great staff, super accommodating and friendly!
Loved the restaurant. Food was excellent. Perfect for my son's birthday with a table off to the side for 6 people! Wait staff was very attentive. We made it within minutes of the happy hour and our server was nice enough to still off it to us. That is very cool. Prices were very reasonable. Kale salad with added salmon was excellent. Prawns were delicious. Pizza was excellent. Can't wait to go back.
Waitress was friendly and attentive. Food was good, overall an enjoyable evening. We had a table in a side room, main room was a bit noisy.
The bottom line is that could have been a really really good meal was made mediocre by kitchen chaos. Servers tried hard. The "food runners" brought the appetizers at the right temps, though slowly, and the main dish arrived with my wife's pizza looking good and almost stone cold. Fixes took so long, we gave up. Too bad. Our server was energetic and informative, my food was good, but in total, it just didn't work well. Thus, value was undercut.
Good location (for me) as it was opposite my hotel, the Marriott on 4th Street. Had a business dinner there, wine was good, food was great (Halibut) , not too noisy. We had a window seat, but I can imagine going back there alone, next time I am in town, and just eating at the bar.
We enjoyed it...great place to meet friends who are staying at the Marriott or attending a conference/work function...good décor/ambiance.....good food and good menu options...I was on a work related lunch so didn't get to sample the bar menu or specialty drinks...so I'll definitely be back..
Located across street from Marriott Marquis, nice ambiance and good service. Really interesting salad with Kale, toasted butternut squash, Medjool dates and very light citrus dressing. Perfect to start with. Friend had Pappardellewith Bolognaise sauce, which was made with Portobello mushrooms- she loved it. I tried the Mac 'n Cheese and it was very rich and yummy. Only disappointment was bread pudding. Just not enough flavor & a bit dry. Otherwise wverything was quite good
Ate here because it had good reviews and was near our hotel. Overall we liked the vibe of the restaurant, cool decor and overall feel. 3 of us had a different pasta dish, they were all good but nothing unexpected. The only complaint was my husband's entree arrived before he was done eating his salad and they just placed it on the table with no apologies. When our waitress came to check on us we told her about it, she was appropriate and offered to re-do his entree (which was not necessary... the pacing was just off) but we never saw her again.
Great casual lunch with a business friend on a Friday.
I had family in town, staying at the Marriott Marquis across the street from Keystone, and had followed google reviews for restaurants in the area. I wasn't sure what to expect, but was hopeful that we had selected a good spot for our reunion. I was apprehensive walking in, because the sound level seemed quite high and I had hoped that we would be able to have conversations without shouting. Once the party arrived, we were taken to a large table in the rear, and the sound was much better. Our server was very friendly and helpful; she suggested many variations on the menu for the couple of picky eaters in the group, and the chef gladly obliged. The food was very good. A very good value. I did not pay attention to the wine or cocktails, so I can't comment on wine list et al. But I'd say this is a good choice if you are in the area and want a casual dining experience with excellent service and very tasty food.
Eat and get out seemed to be the approach. Main courses arrived before appetisers were finished. Hovering waiters. Food only ok. Diner beside us queries the size of his salad as it was tiny for a main course. Wouldn't recommend this for dinner. May be ok for a bar
We were a party of three, never had been there before, but I know we will be back. First of all, the service was excellent. Then, we shared several of the small to entre-size dishes so that we could all try them. We particularly enjoyed both the soups of the day (gaspacho and posole), the Tuscan Kale Salad and the Roasted Vegetable Board. Also, the Roasted Half Chicken was super-moist and tasty. It was a Sunday evening so maybe that was why it was fairly calm in there, but we appreciated that we could have a conversation between us without raising our voices.
This was a great find. The bruschetta was AMAZING to start with. My wife's pizza and salad was great. I had the salmon and it was perfectly cooked. Definitely recommend.
Nice space. Good service. Food was good. Would go back.
