The Ketch Ratings and Reviews
Great place for my daughter and friends to celebrate her Sweet 16. We had spend a lengthy day sightseeing and shopping and needed a nice place with a good meal and some nice wine for the adults. I️ would definitely dine there again and recommend it to others . The girls loved the food, decor and outside patio for photos!
We hosted a dinner for 8 on a Sunday evening. They seated us in the back room and we had the place to ourselves, so it was very quiet and private. Service was very attentive and the food was fresh and well-prepared. They have a very comprehensive menu. Everyone found something they liked. Favorites were the lobster roll, the angel hair pasta with shrimp and the pistachio crusted salmon. Dessert favorite was the Chocolate Fantasy - a combination of chocolate mousse and vanilla bourbon mousse.
I met friends recently for an early dinner and we all enjoyed our evening at the Ketch. The place is nicely decorated and was quiet enough for us to have a good conversation. Appetizers and entrees were very good and we enjoyed our happy hour cocktails. Our waitress was friendly and helpful and didn't rush us out of the restaurant. I recommend the Ketch for a very pleasant dinner.
I miss the sea bass with white beans and escarole entree that used to be on the menu at the old Ketch. Otherwise, always good at the Ketch. Food is fresh and beautiful; portions are perfect and good value for the money. Lovely atmosphere and excellent wait service.
We arrived in time for our 10 am brunch appointment and the restaurant was barely filled. The gentleman who came up to us asked if we wanted a table. He then left us in the empty reception area of the restaurant - which may have had 10 guests at tables - for 7 minutes. We actually decided that our business was not welcome so we left.
Nice neighborhood option. Food was all tasty and reasonably priced. Not a Michelin star gourmet celebrity chef type of place, but a good reliable neighborhood option. Friendly service. The only thing was that I went on a weekend evening, and it was dead. Apparently Mon-Fri are pretty bustling, but it's completely empty on weekends. So, good if you like to have the restaurant all to yourself, but not much of a vibe.
Quality of food what not what I expected from a New York restaurant, it tasted more like "hotel food" that could be pretty much anywhere. Bit disappointing. Staff was friendly though. Atmosphere is very corporate (business after hour) young crowd of professionals..
So glad that a new incarnation of the Captain's Ketch has opened just a few blocks from it's former home. In the new Four Points hotel, complete with two levels of outdoor seating, the new Ketch is more laid back and welcoming than the old location. The menu is quite extensive between bar bites, pizzas, seafood, pastas, salads, burgers, etc. So far in three visits we've had the mozzarella sticks, goat cheese omelette and pulled pork (brunch), crab cake, shrimp cocktail, and the Brewhouse burger. All of these were out of this world.
