The Keg Steakhouse + Bar - Yaletown
Friday - Saturday 4pm - 1:30am
Great service and the patio is the best in Yaletown. One steak was over cooked but otherwise, food was great
Ambiance was great once it got dark, and the food was worth the price. We were able to make terrible jokes all night uninterrupted, and the only thing I felt was off is that there weren't a ton of options for non alcoholic drinks.
Highly recommend this restaurant. It was excellent food and service. My 2 young kids ate everything on their plates, including the vegetables. Everything tasted delicious. I ordered the beef medallions with shrimp and my husband had the tuna. We gave these 2 thumbs up. Our waitress, Andrea, was exceptionally courteous and we had a great evening.
I got to the Keg just before 7pm on Tuesday. I was sitting alone for a good 20 minutes and had 2 whiskey sour drinks which were really good. I asked to server if he could make them a little more frothy and they came as requested. It was a good start to my experience. My date arrived shortly after and ordered a bellini (which is her favorite drink at the Keg) and was not expecting what was delivered. Apparently there are 2 different bellini options which she was unaware of. The server did not let us know this. In order to not make her feel uncomfortable, thinking she had made a mistake, I kindly asked the server about the bellini she was familiar with to which he said yes we have that drink. She received her drink and was content. Throughout our drinks and dinner, our server had taken our order for another round and it took some time for our drinks to arrive. He came back to our table empty handed and had to ask what drinks we were having again. Though, we had stuck to the same drinks all night. We ordered the Ribeye steak and split the plate 50/50 with an extra twice baked potatoe. It was delicious! Experience could have been better but overall 3/5. Better service next time. It did seem like it was our servers first month or week. We sat on the patio in the farthest corner to the left after getting out of the elevator. I've been there a few times and will most likely be back. Cheers!
The food was amazing! The Location is very modern and stylish.
I absolutey loved everything about it! Will definitely go there more often!
Candace was our server and she was exceptional. The food was at the same standard.
Good food, good service, nice ambience and well priced.
I was not impressed with our server. Our table never got bread and butter to start. He never came to fill out our water glasses. On top, when I asked if I can get a Thai rice bowl without chicken, he said we are really busy so he doesn't think kitchen would do that. He never offered to ask a the kitchen.
I will not be going there. The food was really good thou.
We had a fantastic evening celebrating Megan's Birthday Anniversary! We waited in the lounge until our seats on the patio were available. We enjoyed dinner and drinks until the rain began. However we were accommodated in the dining room to complete our evening with dessert.
We highly recommend The Keg Yaletown for the best celebrations ever!
Nice atmosphere, genuinely a nice location and decor. The steaks are dependablly good and the costs are medium. Service was good ( not great) and the Billy Miner pie is always a good way to leave some room for.
Unreal!! The server recommended the rice for my dish, great choice!!! I will def be getting that meal again. Always a great time at the Keg, this roof top just out does it as well
When we arrived there was a young lady cleaning the entrance way. Her body language told me that she was obviously cranky about it, and that I had interrupted her opening the door. She was ultimately the one to lead us to the table. The table, we thought, was not ideal given that the place was empty and we had made reservations. After a while she was able to get our table changed. But again, she had the ghastly body language the whole time. (haughty facial expression, limp lazy posture and short clipped sentences) The food was fair but took a while to get there. Our server was great though so we gave a good tip.
Also I feel people making reservations should be able to sit where they want, its seems that there is some weird first come first serve policy for the patio, and also we were not allowed to sit on the first floor. Maybe its because we are not uber wealthy people that have nothing to do but show up right at opening time, the big spenders have the right away I guess.
2 couples out for dinner before a concert. Made reservations online, so easy. Drove in from the valley. Prompt seating, great food and drinks. Rooftop dining was fantastic. Staff very pleasant. Definitely will return again.
Wife got wrong steak, forgot my crab add on but everyone has a bad day once and a while, myself included.
“Keg size” drinks now come in shorter glasses they tried to explain to me that the recipe has not changed however the ratios of mixes have changed and I would give the drinks 3 out of 10 tops.
Likely looking for a new go to restaurant. Keg is backsliding.
Our family was disappointed with the service last night. It was my mother in laws 60th birthday and we selected the keg as it has always been consistent in service and the food. Unfortunately the service was very poor last night. The server was very rushed, forgot a number of things that had been requested and it impacted the overall experience.
We had a great dinner - 10/10
Service was great - our server Gill was awesome
We went there for our 10th anniversary. I mentioned that when I reserved on OpenTable. They brought us a delicious dessert and wrote Happy Anniversary in chocolate on the plate. It was really beautiful.
The food and service here is generally excellent.
I love the fireplaces. It's a really warm atmosphere.
The server was not aware, however, that the keg size drinks are a larger size. She had told me the keg size Caesar had 2 ounces instead of just 1 ounce of alcohol. So I asked her if the keg size drinks just had more alcohol or were larger drinks and she said they just have more alcohol.
Other than that, though, the server was excellent.
It was great experience but we believe our server ,Shawn, make it better. We were there to have dinner on my boyfriend s birthday. He greeted us with warm smile. He briefly inform us about menu and drinks.I ordered Peppercorn New York steak and my boyfriend ordered prime rib.Food was excellent. He kept check on us and even offered a blanket since we seated on patio. Before we left he surprised us with big slice of birthday cake with candle. We really enjoyed the night in Yaletown Keg but again our server make it better experience.Thank you for a great service
A truly pleasant and relaxing evening, great food , perfect service and great atmosphere. Thank You !
Went for a birthday, they didn’t do anything special for the birthday. I did put information in the reservation and reminded them when we sat, they didn’t even put a candle in the cheese cake :(
We like to eat at The Keg when we are in Vancouver or Victoria on our boat. In Vancouver we usually eat at the Granville Island location, but this time we were closer to Yaletown so we went there. The bar takes up most of the first floor, so for dinner we were taken to the second floor and led to a tiny table between two very loud parties of 4+ people. We could hardly hear each other talk, much less have an enjoyable meal. There were other, larger 2-top tables in quieter locations - did we just not look good enough for those tablets? We will never know, and probably will never go back to this location.
Rooftop seating was awesome!
Unlucky I got sick after this diner. I not sure it’s the prime rib or something else I eat. But I won’t order prime rib again. Otherwise it’s good place. The service is great and nice.
Was in from out of town. A friend highly recommended Yaletown Keg. The food, service and ambience were perfection.
Always great food and great service! Great roof top patio for drinks with friends. Totally recommend this Keg as a go-to place in downtown!
Great atmosphere. Lots of space. Excellent service. Good menu options. All around a fine restaurant.
It was okay but the meat wasn’t as good as I expected. Wouldn’t visit again.
Unfortunately eventhough we usualy have great experiance with the keg, this time at this location it was very different. We ordered a cab sav bousguet wine bottle from the menu and the waitress brought the same brand wine but a malbec wich was a twist cap and much cheaper that was not even in the menu. This is insulting peoples inteligence. But when we mentioned she brought the correct one with the cork cap. The steaks were all over cooked from what we ordered and overal the servicing wasnt good at all. We all felt that the waitress didnt like her job and had difficulty being nice and polite. Anyways if I was the manager, I would be more considered about what is going on in my restaurant.
Excellent all around experience...
I love the Keg, especially for the Prime Rib. It just is usually reliably good.
This weekend I brought my mom, she ordered the Filet steak and is usually good however this time had several areas of grissle, so for the price wasn't that impressed with it.
The other thing she was annoyed with was our server was often involved in talking with what clearly were her friends at a table beside ours which was distracting as every time she went by she was again talking with them. I guess the point is keep business separate from personal at work.
Arrived 10 minutes early and checked in with hostess. She advised it would be 10 minutes until we got our table. 10 minutes went by and she said we were next but then 10 more minutes went by and it was clear people off the street were getting tables before us. I flagged down 1 of the 5 hostesses and asked how much longer and she seemed surprised people with a reservation were waiing. We then got seated and saw about another 4 empty tables and it came clear the service was lackimg spite all the people standing around. After that we had to wait 20 minutes and ask twice to get bread. But then the service got adequate and the food tasted good.
Overall I was disappointed in the Keg which I've held to much higher standards.
We enjoy the Keg as we find the food quality consistently good and the location is very convenient for us, walking distance from where we live. Our server, Jillian, was very friendly and efficient and helped make our dining experience very enjoyable :)
Great food. Great service as usual. Music could be turned down a little in the dining room. Fine fir the rooftop bar.
Generally the food was good. The prime rib was tough around the edges although I order the larger cut. I found much grizzle and was not edible area.
My wife and I have been to this location several times before and always had positive experiences. So for her birthday I took her there again. I don’t know what happened that day, but they really did not deliver to their usual standards. The glasses and dishware were visibly dirty. We waited over an hour for our food. When it came, it was unsatisfactory. Plated poorly. Both our steaks were undercooked. We wouldn’t have sent them back because we didn’t want to wait another hour anyway, but no one even came to ask us how things were until the meal was done. No acknowledgement was ever made about my wife’s birthday even though it had been specified in the reservation. Pretty much a complete failure in every regard. It wasn’t even really that busy, so no excuse. I don’t think we’ll be going back.
Horribly long wait times - reserved a table - Sat down at 6.10 - got a glass of water at 6.20 ordered at 6.25 and was told that kitchen under pressure - 35 minutes wait for food - after 30 mins was given complimentary prawn appy which was nice but then another 20 minutes before food arrived which put us in a rush to get to our 8pm show - i'd booked a 6pm table to give us plenty of time. They were good enough to waive the charge for the meal and that is as much as they could do really but it did spoil our evening
My family's go-to restaurant for special occasions is usually The Keg and this is the fourth time we have been to this particular Keg. It takes some patience to navigate the neighborhood if you're driving but usually worth the headache...until this last vist on the weekend. I had requested a table by the window but that was not honoured. (Not sure why they take special requests like that when you book online if they're not going to be honoured?) The waitress was friendly but seemed busy to the point of distraction (there was another large table of people beside us) and forgot my mother's meal. My father's steak was also undercooked. She did deduct the errors off our bill but it put a damper on my father's birthday dinner. First time we have ever had an issue at any Keg, though. It's expensive but 90% of the time it's worth it.
For a great steak at a reasonable price, along with fast friendly service it is hard to beat the Keg.
It was a very busy Friday and the servers tried their best to accommodate us.
The food is excellent as usual. The variety of wine is pretty good.
I booked a table at the roof top for a special meeting with my sister and friends. We were greeting at the door and host to the table, nice and friendly service, great wine and awesome steaks.Amazing atmosphere!!my italians friends were super satisfied and impressed by quality & courtesy.THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!
