The Keg Steakhouse + Bar - Yaletown
All around wonderful experience. Great atmosphere.
Great service good food. Awesome ambiance
Company function with out of town guests (12). One meal did not arrive at all. Took a long time to come and take drink orders. Some drink orders were also missed. After first glass wine pour, server did not return. Took a long time to take food order. Did not offer appetizers. One food order completely missed. People kept having to to ask server to do things. Servers standing around doing nothing and restaurant was not busy so not lack of staff. Disappointing!
The classic Canadian steakhouse, you guys are still doing it great. Nailed everything and the wine selection was on point.
Always consistent with their food and very good service
Service was excellent in every level. Half lobster in our “surf and turf” was a little over cooked but the steak was on point! My favourite prime rib was fantastic!
I requested a patio seat when I reserved even if they didn’t do reservations for the Patio. They offered me a patio seat and also a complementary birthday ice cream cake!
My wife and I along with me son and his girlfriend are on vacation for the first time to Vancouver. Heard great things about the steakhouse and a recommendation from the wait staff at Rodney’s . Had a great meal and a great time.
Great food as always, service was great though getting our bill was quite slow.
Wonderful experience. Food and ambience were outstanding! One of our best meals while visiting Vancouver! Highly recommend:-)
Loved the atmosphere and food. Enjoyed the Lobster Grantine.
Always great food there and the server, Jillian was wonderful.
Candice was amazing server! We had such a great time.
Great dining experience. I Always visit The Keg Yaletown when in Vancouver from Australia
Great service and amazing food .
Portion is good. Quality is good. Price is reasonable .
Very average ribeye. Reminds me of Outback with a better wine list
We were able to be accommodated on the rooftop patio ... and even before the elevator doors open the noise was loud. With the back ground music being very loud, conversation levels had to be louder to be heard.
The meal was very good but we realized at the end of the meal we never received our Caesar Salads that were part of the “classic” menu. We were stuffed so we didn’t bother mentioning it, but it’s the little attention to details like that, that make it less than perfect.
We each had an amazing cocktail at the bar while waiting for our table, and the wine with dinner was delicious. (Thanks for the recommendations Frankie!).
I would most definitely go again and recommend it!!
What a beautiful meal me and my partner had at The Keg! Great restaurant, very friendly and attentive staff! It was quite loud, but it was very busy and it didnt have any effect on our evening. Would highly recommend!
Family from overseas visiting. Farewell dinner
Slow service for time of day and for meal service. Asparagus was under-cooked first time (almost raw) - it was replaced with asparagus that was cooked better, but not to perfection.
Very good restaurant, mostly for meat, but this summer they had delicious lobsters. I don’t know whose was the idea of placing the reservations customers hidden in the second floor when tables at the terrace where avaliable. I switched...
Couldn't have asked for anything more! Great food, great service and a free dessert as a congratulations. Will definitely go again.
Staff was very friendly, service was excellent, and the food was out of this world. We were having a business dinner so we were placed in a nice quiet area. The Billy Miner Pie is so, so good!
Another perfect dinner at the Keg - we were seated at a great table, in time to catch happy hour, and everyone's steaks were cooked perfectly, best Keg in the Lower Mainland for sure!
The Keg is always a good experience and restaurant. However the vegetables on both my dinner and my wife's were lacking in taste. Fresh veggies with some nice taste are always important to make the meal complete. Overall not up to Keg standards. Service and setting were great.
2nd visit during our stay in Vancouver. Both times we experienced mixed quality of food/service.
First visit during a warm afternoon, so obviously headed to rooftop terrace. Server told us no outside tables available and offered us a small section inside, even though spaces available both outside and at more “desirable” areas inside. We asked another server and they happily showed us to a table on the terrace.
Out appetisers were pleasant - baked Brie, coated soy cauliflower and brisket sliders, the latter however was quite raw. When we raised this we were told that was how it was advertised? Otherwise we enjoyed our outdoor snack/drink.
Second visit was dinner as a couple. Booked well in advance but had to wait a while to be seated.
Very enthusiastic server Josh attended to us throughout.
Sirloin main was cooked to order - medium well. It was however stone-cold throughout. Rest of plate was hot so clearly steak lying out way too long. Don’t normally complain but no heat in steak whatsoever so felt I had to raise issue.
Josh was apologetic and immediately arranged to have my meal replaced, although returned plate was simply reheated and rearranged. I did eat it though and admit I enjoyed, even though steak was only lukewarm rather than hot.
Josh offered us free desert to make up for the inconvenience, although we politely declined. We were billed for the full amount but guess they could have knocked off a few $ if they wanted to. Still, we left normal tip given Josh’ service.
Overall, Yaletown Keg is a bit too pretentious given it’s a basic steak/drinks chain. Terrace access is obviously if your “face fits” in the eyes of some (not all) staff. Pricey for standard food fare.
Great service from the manager to the server, young lad from Surrey, England. I ordered the lobster steak combo, excited to have a taste of lobster after many years away from the east coast. The half lobster disappointed. It should have been thrown back over the side. The first sign was the greenish tint of the shell. Very little meat, legs were hollow, claw was soft and practically empty save for a scrap of flesh. Steak was excellent but we came away thinking you are getting ripped by whomever supplies your crustaceans.
The food was delicious, are server was right on, the hostess when we first walked in wasn’t so friendly, they told us if we wanted patio it would be up to45 minutes, but only was 15 minutes. Beautiful night with a beautiful lady, perfect
Food was great! Love their Wedge salad with blue cheese dressing!! Perfect for kids too!
Friends from out of town
The set table we were sat at was dirty (had water marks and crumbs) which is forgivable of course but we looked at the set table next to us and it was worse. Surprising that you'd set and sit a table that wasn't washed first. The food was decent but we came for the steak and crab and the crab was no longer on the menu. Shrimp and scallops that accompanied the steak were mediocre at best. Not sure we'd be back any time soon.
The food is always great at The Keg. My server wasnt around much and we werent offered any more water, but the food makes up for it
Great for a nice dinner, or even kind of a special family outing. We were on vacation, and we dined at this Keg location on the last night of our trip. We’ve never been to a Keg before, but we would definitely eat here again or recommend!
Love the place but I find the music inside and on patio always too loud so that you have to struggle to talk to friends.
Once a favorite steak house has recently started to decline in service and quality. Hopefully a company with these resources can turn things around. Yaletown offers many culinary choices, other Steakhouse options are available, you may want to consider alternatives while they fix the problem.
Super nice birthday diner with my lovely wife. Wonderful dinner, nice ambience.
Although the restaurant was busy on a Friday night we were seated immediately, even though we arrived early for our 8:00pm reservation. Service was a bit slower than we’ve usually had at this location, but it was still outstanding. We always leave feeling satisfied and happy when we eat at The Keg
We had a great dinner and our server (I believe her name was Vanessa) was attentive & friendly. She explained the menu since it was our first time at a Keg restaurant. All of our food & drinks were delicious! My husband had the baseball sirloin and it was cooked like he wanted. I got the teriyaki sirloin and it was cooked more than I ordered but still good. The mushrooms and potatoes were very flavorful. We'll definitely be back the next time we're in Vancouver.
The service and the food was excellent. Connie was great.
