The Keg Steakhouse + Bar - Windsor Riverside Ratings and Reviews
Had a great server and great food. I was extremely disappointed with being sat right next to a large table with children. We were sharing a booth bench and I felt like I was eating with strangers. They could hear everything I was saying to my date and I could hear their conversations as well. I expect to a minimum be sat at a table alone. The seating was worse than being sat near the door or kitchen.
My fiancé and I went here for the first time on feb 13th and absolutely fell in love! The food and drinks where well worth the price, our waitress Kendal was great and sooo helpful! She had great feed back, made great convo, and was extremely helpful! The lady at the front desk didn’t seem to happy but I’m sure it was a busy night being the before Valentine’s Day! The food was cooked sooo well and tasted amazing the seafood was perfect and easy enough to eat! We loved it and will be back!! Thanks for making our 10th valentines day together great!
Ordered the 14 oz prime rib... they brought 10 oz... chef or owner, not sure who he gentleman was, came and offered to bring 4 oz piece of prime rib and he would only charge us for 10 oz...
Bill came and we were charged for the 14 oz. It was a little awkward...
Food was fabulous!
We both upgraded our steak from a 7 to a 10 oz filet mignon and an 8 to a 12 oz sirloin like we always do at the Keg in London, Ont. The steaks we received were small, I don't believe the upgrade was given. Also the twice baked potato was small and we only got 2 red pepper slices and 6 green beans. We only had 1 alcoholic beverage each. The meal tasted delicious as we always get from the Keg but for the bill to be $126 I would expect more to be on the plate.
Calamari was squishy, Music was loud, and the Chicken my husband ordered was game-y. Not overly impressed with food given the cost and we had went for an early Valentines. Waitress was friendly, but too busy with other tables as it was surprisingly busy for a late night rez.
I LOVED my experience at this Keg location. My only 2 suggestions are: I had made a special request to have a table with a riverfront view (put this in my Open Table reservation box) & the booths were kinda snug! Other than that, amazing! My husband and I will be returning!
I ordered two appetizers (Escargot & Garlic Shrimps). They were served too hot and the waitress only warned about the food. I burnt my mouth and so did my wife. It was her 1st time there and we were very disappointed. The steaks were good though. Just should have been more careful. We decided not to mention and make a big deal and ruin our date night and moved on. Just wanted to make a note of it.
Service was incredible. Three of us showed up for a 2 person reservation due to a last minute addition. The hostess said no problem and we will seat you right away. I was a little worried because it was a busy Saturday evening at 8:30pm. My guest thoroughly enjoyed their dinner and drinks. I am always partial to restaurants that allow you to bring a special bottle of wine for a corkage charge ($25). That being said, the restaurant has a very nice wine list that I have ordered off of in the past. Finally, our waitress was top notch. She was very knowledgeable about the menu and her timing was great as it related to showing up at the table to take orders, see how we were doing, etc.
The service was great. We had a reservation but arrived early with the intent to have a drink at the bar. The staff was able to seat us right away which was great. Our waitress was attentive but not intrusive! I had a baseball steak....it was delicious! My boyfriend had escargot for an appetizer which was mushy and slimy and prime rib for his entree which was veiny, chewy and fatty. He looks forward to the Keg prime rib and has enjoyed it many times. This time did not satisfy.
Overall it was a great night, great food, great atmosphere and great service. My only concern is towards the end of our meal it felt like we were being rushed. Not sure if we took too long with our table and they need it for other customers. It was very busy that night and l do understand that they can only allow certain time for customers to have their dinner. But when someone is walking by constantly looking to see what you have left to eat it’s rather annoying and when your waitress is grabbing Cutlery off the table when you’re still not finished made me feel a little rushed.
Our go to place. Never had a bad meal yet. Service superb. The only critisism would be that the lighting is dim and it is difficult to read the menus....would be helpful to have lights which were adjustable to your comfort level or to be marginally brighter.
6:15 reservation arrived @ 6:10 we were seated promptly by very receptive hostess, excellent waiter ( red head ) started off with the alway’s never disappointing escargot for me and fantastic shrimp cocktail for my partner...sirloin for her ..excellent..baked Oscar for myself , could not eat another bite ..you gotta know i’ll Be back, Thank’s for a great dinner .
My wife and I decided on The Keg Riverside for a special dinner out. Our table was ready for us at exactly our reservation time even though they were jam packed with people waiting. We had a nice booth for 2 waiting for us. The lighting was a bit dim for menu reading but set the right mood for the evening. As I said earlier they were slammed and our waiter was running a bit behind so the manager came to our table and took care of our drink orders, which I thought was spectacular, after all, a happy customer is a return customer!! Our appetizers and meal were served timely and hot and were delicious!! I would recommend this restaurant to anyone wanting to go out for something special. It is a bit pricey but you should know that going in. That being said its not someplace I could go weekly....but a few times a year would be great before a show at Ceasars or on a date night. 5 stars from me all the way!!!
