The Keg Steakhouse + Bar - Sherway
Three of us went to The Keg for the 2lb lobster dinner. It was somewhat disappointing. First, two of the lobsters may have been close to 2lbs but the third was a bit shy for sure. Second, they don't come cracked so be prepared to use your muscles. Third, a larger bucket for the shells would have been nice. Fourth, a few wetnaps at the end would also have been welcomed. It was a bit messy. Fifth, the lobster came without the inner roe. I consider this a delicacy and it should have been included. Not good. Sixth, the sides were really disappointing. Fries were good but the double-baked potato was not. The mixed vegetables were asparagus (ok), roasted red pepper (good) and green beans (dreadful). Service was good and the mini desserts and wine were good value. But, overall, not a premium dining experience that we had hoped (and paid) fo
Good restaurant. Great service. But when you make a reservation online please note that your reservation will only ever be for the dining room at Sherway. You cannot make reservations for the upstairs outside bar. They neglected to tell us that at the time of booking.
Probably one of my best experiences at a keg restaurant. Excellent service, quick seating and delicious food. Menu items seem a little steep as the portions are not very generous. It was starting to get busy as we left at 6:30 but we were seating at 5pm and the dining room and relatively empty and quiet. The iceberg lettuce wedge salad was something I had never heard of before but was pleasantly surprised - interesting concept.
The baked brie was aaaaaamazing to say the least. My steak was cooked to perfection (my specifications).
Over all great evening at the keg !
I was disappointed in the meal there. I had not been to Keg in a while and my ribs were not great.
I probably will not be back for a long while.
Cactus Club food is much better now the Keg value and food was really not that tasty my husband had Lobster and steak and he said Lobster was not god either. Sorry but being honest.
The Keg Prime Rib never disappoints. The music was rather loud for a Sunday evening which made conversation difficult.
Food and service was very good. These things seem to be fairly consistent across the chain. I particularly admire the restaurant’s policy of always expediting food when it’s ready in the kitchen. However, the choice of ambient music playing was entirely inappropriate for the type of dining experience the Keg wants to create. I was at the Sherway location on a Sunday at 5:30pm with my two elderly parents and the music playing inside was some sort of FM album rock station - lots of guitars, lots of drums, lots of heavy metal voices. And way too loud. Wrong, just wrong. Jarring and uncomfortable enough for me to think twice about returning again with guests I want to impress.
Our date night at The Keg Sherway was amazing! Our server Brendan was extremely attentive, kind and knowledgeable about the menu. The food was great, there was no long waits for drinks or food or getting our bill. I would definitely recommend this location to everyone, all staff including the hostesses were extremely kind.
I go to the Keg at least 4 times a year at this location. It was my birthday on 07/12 so I went there with my girl friend. I must have been near a speaker for the music because it was quite loud and the choice of music was very heavy rock. Don't get me wrong I like rock music but for the 1st time in 6 years of going to this location I have never heard the music and the choice of music.
Birthday for husband Server was awesome loved the free dessert
Our server was amazing and the food consistantly fantastic!
We had a great time dining at The Keg (Sherway) location for my husbands birthday. Our host Chris was really attentive and super friendly. He gave us great recommendations for items on the menu. The Baked Brie appetizer was delicious! We had a lovely time and would definitely go back.
The Keg steaks are tough - not cheap - not worth it. Service was good, wedge salad and baked potatoes excellent. My wife’s Halibut was dry. Too much a chain restaurant now. Won’t be back.
Excellent food and service, better seating arrangements could be made, not a fan of bench seating.
We were there for my wife’s birthday. I felt that portions have changed and the food was just okay. I love the Keg but a few things are changing quickly noticeably. Scallops were extremely small compared to previous occasions . I guess Cara is taking over
It was great! Delicious food and a cozy spot to spend time.
The tuna tartare was not good
This is the 2nd time we have had dinner at the Keg Sherway. Enjoyed it the atmosphere along with an amazing dinner and service.
Food was fantastic, server was excellent, not noisy. Great value for money! Definitely would go there regularly and recommend to family/friends!
Food was exactly as expected. Always a great meal. No surprises. One of us ordered the shrimp and scallop special. It was excellent. Great flavour. Billy Miner pie a wonderful way to top off a special (birthday) event. Service was excellent. Attentive but not hovering. Our "go to" place for a special occasion.
Everything was terrific. Our server Mark went above and beyond to make us happy. However, we found the background music to be too loud and it somewhat distrupted our dinner which could have been a lot more relaxing. We asked to have it turned down a bit, but that never happened. We were there for an early dinner (5:00pm) so there weren't a lot of patrons. Had the place been full and hopping, the volume level probably would have not been noticed.
Better luck next time I suppose.
Great food! Nice ambiance, and I loved sitting on the patio :)
Early summer evening...great experience with good food and service.
Great Father’s Day dinner. Seated immediately in a quiet corner with one other couple. Service was exceptional especially since the restaurant was very busy! Only one screaming toddler that broke the quiet atmosphere. Not your fault but I do wish parents would control their kids better.
Great as always, can’t wait to go again & again
I have wheat, corn and egg allergies so my only steak option was salt and pepper. There was no flavour at all. My meal consisted of one poor quality new york strip; it had a “rubber band” like vein running right through it and it was very tough even though I had it cooked to medium. It was accompanied by what seemed like 1 & 1/2 bunches of asparagus (way tooo much) and 4 loonie sized red pepper pieces.
My meal was terribly overpriced for what I received. Honestly, the Keg should look further into wheat and corn free seasonings - I use many, many options when I cook; it’s not difficult at all to accommodate patrons with my dietary restrictions. AND, I was so looking forward to crab legs with grilled veggies but the crab is no longer on your menu.
Overall, I personally was very disappointed with my meal and felt cheated. So sad: the Keg used to be my favourite steak restaurant
Our server didn't serve bread and already been told her that we're famished. We were celebrating birthday of my son who's in Australia and never bothered to ask when we got there. ABSOLUTELY POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE.
One of our favourite go-to restaurants whether it’s for date night or family night. Guaranteed great steak. Always consistent. Parking can be challenging sometimes since it’s attached to the mall but still worth going. Good service too.
I go there very often, it is our spot! Can’t wait for patio season!
We ate on the terrace for the first time, arriving at 1830 to celebrate my 70th. A little cool with the breeze but cozy next to the fire. Excellent service and timing of the meal throughout, steaks cooked exactly to request (medium-rare). Enjoyed the background music, at a suitable level, until about 1930 when the soundtrack for the pre-game show on the TV was switched on. Much too loud and most intrusive - nobody was there to watch the game so why the hell was the sound turned on? Utterly ruined the end of an otherwise lovely meal - we skipped the desert menu, I missed the espresso I had been looking forward to and we just paid and left as soon as we could. Stupid management!
I love the Keg and always have a good experience. I was celebrating my daughter's birthday and it was close to home and we had a great time.
Relaxing atmosphere. Patio is great and good choice to go early afternoon. Food was tasty and good drinks selection.
We came with friends visiting from out of the country, our plan was to have a nice dinner in your upper bar lounge area while watching the Raptor's game.
Our server was fantastic! Very outgoing, friendly and efficient.
We would have remained for the entire game, but the sound was off on the TV's and this was obviously frustrating. We were 'hearing' the commentators and shots made prior to the screen showing the 'game'.
We decided to leave at half time and go elsewhere to finish off the first game of the series.
Overall, this was a great night out with friends. The food was fabulous as usual.
As always good and service were great...consistently delicious!!!
It was my daughters 9th birthday and it was her wish to eat at The Keg. I especially chose the Sherway location because it seemed elegant and classy. The food was on point and the waitress made sure she had the perfect brownie dessert to top her day off! Thanks for making my daughters day!
Great service, had a wonderful steak dinner with my parents on their anniversary. The salads, steaks, potatoes, etc were amazing! Definitely recommend
Good value, atmosphere and service. Only down side is some seats facing the sunset and sun glasses is required. Don’t forget the dessert.
Normally love the keg , but since I work in restaurants for many years I expect exceptional service, especially from the keg
Service in lounge was subpar, 3 tables sat down after us and were served before us, had to flag waitress down to order drinks and this was on a not so busy Sunday night at 6:30pm, once our waitress noticed us service was better but it was a bad way to begin the meal .....disappointing
A little too dark and hard to read the menu. I still prefer the menu selections of the 90’s. Not as much offered now. The wait staff was great and when we identified that there had been fraud on my gift card, the manager was awesome.
Waiter was great, friendly, knowledgable and there when we wanted him. They were able to work around a garlic allergy easily. This is a "go to again" type place.
We celebrated our 42nd Wedding Anniversary, server was excellent, courteous, efficient and very professional. Food was excellent and nice presentation. Only suggestion, a little better lighting. Otherwise a lovely evening.
