The Keg Steakhouse + Bar - Saanich Ratings and Reviews
My girlfriend and I celebrated New Years Day at you're wonderful establishment. Evan served us. Nice guy. Wait time good. Magic atmosphere. Compliments to the Chefs. As well as the Hostesses. In general, a Magic occasion.
Thank you to the staff and management.
The Keg is usually consistent with its food and service quality and this night was no exception. It was a busy Saturday night where reservations are a must to avoid a long wait. We had a great table location with a knowledgeable server who assisted greatly with wine selection for my wife. The meal was excellent and you can’t beat the Billy Miner pie for dessert.
Really disappointed in this Keg experience. Was my friends birthday and got a terrible little table in a corner. We had reserved through Open Table. Finally moved to the bar. Mixed our steak orders. I got my terriaki blue while my friend got her sirloin medium well. Took mine away, cut it in half and regrilled it (twice) and returned it without my vegetables. Didn't do anything about my friend's overcooked sirloin. They totally messed up! Not satisfied!
the only thing i was disappointed by was that you no longer have your surf and turf small plate. we eat at the keg quite often. when we go out thats the place i want to go, but your regular servings our alot for me. my boyfriends a big guy and both he and my mum always order the prime rib and shrimp, but thats too much food for me. i tried the regular filet mingon with lobster tails but was way too much for me. your food and service is beyond amazing but i told my family we will have to find another regular spot. we'll still come by a couple times a year, i'm sure, but not every month as has been our custom. i'm so sad that small plate was my favorite meal out of all time. :(
We just came for a really great steak dinner and that's exactly what we got. Our server Graham was excellent -- super friendly and available whenever we needed him. The food came just as we finished our drinks which was perfect, and the bill for everything was very reasonable. We will definitely be coming back soon.
If you're looking for constuctive feedback the only negative I can think of was that the dinner vegetable, green beans, were too hard and crunchy for my taste. I ate them all though.
We had exceptional service at the Keg on Quadra St. Our server was very enthusiastic, professional and efficient. She answered all of our questions with patience even though the restaurant was packed and she was obviously busy. We wanted for nothing. Our appies were tasty, the bread was hot and fresh, the food was excellent. Would definitely recommend.
Always a good time, but disappointed to be seated by the kitchen even after making a reservation. Noise level was high, and lots of traffic going by. I also have a bit of trouble with stairs, which are unavoidable throughout the restaurant. Server also was a bit slow to clear, and didn't refill the wine.
Having said that, the food was fantastic and so was the wine. The general atmosphere was also good, so easy to enjoy a good meal.
We requested a quiet table to celebrate our 49th Anniversary with dear friends. Upon arrival, the hostess said "congratulations" and escorted us to our table upstairs. We were seated beside a very large table (20 men - probably a staff function)............having a good time but extremely noisy. We all ordered appies. They were excellent. Then our meal came without anyone clearing our appy plates The poor server was trying to balance picking up plates and putting down hot dinners. One person wanted "fries" that didn't come with meal. It took another 20 minutes. We wanted bacon with baked potatoes. That took another 10-15 mins. Staff were extremely busy, but that's no excuse for poor service. We didn't stay for coffee due to the noise level and at no time did our server wish us a HAPPY ANNIVERSARY, although she saw us taking photos, etc. It was a very disappointing evening all in all.
The reason for lower ratings on overall /food was that I ordered your Prime Rib to be medium, it came as rare, my friend ordered the Teryaki sirloin, and she found it to be tough. We are frequent diners with you and have had both of these choices and we haven’t been disappointed before. I realize we could have asked for these items to be replaced but that disrupts the meal for everyone at the table.
On the whole we had a great experience, service was great and food was excellent. The only drawback was where we were seated. We had a two seater booth which was against the wall in the secluded area of three other four seater booths. We were looking for a adult experience and in the two other booths across from us were seated families with young children. It was like being at MacDonald's.
