The Keg Steakhouse + Bar - Red Deer Ratings and Reviews
We were sat 45 mins after our reservation time. I was unimpressed because it was 15 mins before we were greeted at our table and never got the bread we ordered and were never quality checked on our food. I had to ask another server for another drink because our waitress was no where to be found. We aren’t really sure what the point of making a reservation is if they ignore the time. We were definitely NOT happy with the service. It ruined our night.
Overall it was very nice. The section we were seated in was a little cool. We were going to be seated at a window table but asked to be moved cause of coldness. As we sat and ate they kept trying to sit people at the cold table but all would ask to be moved or would just leave. Other than that it was good maybe a little pricey though. Thanks
Food, as always, was consistently good. Had a super waitress which always makes the experience memorable. I had the creole shrimp on my steak (filet mignon) this time which I won’t bother with again... not that it tasted bad but it kind of took over the whole plate taste-wise and looked a hot mess when they served it as well. Will stick to the grilled shrimp skewers moving forward 🤣🤗 all in all a good night!
My husband and I often frequent the keg! It’s our very favourite restaurant! We’re from Calgary and looked especially for the keg in Red Deer! Whenever we have a special occasion, date night or a visit with friends we really look forward to going to the keg! They Have the best steak ever and I love there pistachio salmon! One of my favourites is the keg inBanff. The staff are very friendly and the food at all the kegs is Amazing!! My husband and I always look forward to going to the keg and visit different kegs approx 4 times a year! Well done you've got it all spot on! Jenny And Casey Vandeschoot
Not much on the plate for what we paid for.I think the menu is overpriced.....we were not even full after we done eating. We received a giftcard for the family...but I never should pay this out my own pocket for the menu.Service was good nice young men helped us,but there are better steakhouses and affordable priced for a family of 4.The restaurant was loud and noissy what I dislike....
Our service was great. My steak was under done but they gave us a credit which was unnecessary but nice. It was just the two of us and we were having a hard time hearing each other due to the fact that the tables were close together and cramped. Very noisy. We were also seated right by the fire place and my wife was right against it so was uncomfortably warm.
The food was good and service was excellent
Food here was excellent as always. Steaks were cooked medium rare as ordered and waitress was attentive. However it was quite busy and we had to wait around 20 minutes past our reservation time. I even showed up 5-10 minutes before the reservation time as I’ve seen other reviews complaining about this.
Was a bit disappointed after having a made a reservation that we still waited about 15 minutes before being seated. Our waitress was wonderful and efficient considering how busy it was and the food was delicious. I don't find the atmosphere at this Keg to be very quiet and almost have to yell across the table at your dining partner.
Although the Keg is one of our favourite restaurants this visit was a disappointing experience. The Keg -Red Deer allows reservations which we thought would be great. However we still had a substantial wait and were seated at the same time as a couple without a reservation that arrived at the same time we did. Our waiter was very nice but service was very slow. We waited 30 minutes for our drinks and over an hour for our entrees.
Thank goodness we made reservations. When there a line up of people waiting for tables in both the restaurant and lounge. The steaks were tender. I was surprised that the prime rib didn't come with Yorkshire pudding. The cauliflower steak is a vegan meal in this steak house.
I was very disappointed with our visit to the Keg. I took my family there on New Year’s Day for what I planned to be a nice way to start the year. All day we were looking forward to a nice meal. My 4 year old grandson dressed up to go to the ‘fancy restaurant’.
We were sat at a table where we felt a blast of cold air every time the door open (even with a reservation - it seemed we were seated in the ‘family’ area), the wine glasses were not removed from the table until we asked, the only hot part of the appetizers were the plates, appetizer plates were not removed prior to our meals being served (even though we had been done for quite awhile), the potatoes were burned black on top, my steak was perfectly cooked but not hot.
All in all it was a disappointing experience. I have been to the Keg many times in different cities including Red Deer but have never had this happen before.
Unfortunately the great meals cost just as much as the ones that leave you feeling like you’ve been treated as less than.
It was my wife’s birthday and I always try to do something a little special for her. This year I invited our daughter and grandson to join us for supper at the Keg. It was a wonderful experience, right from the welcome at the door to when we left. The dining room manager, Noah Morgan, made us feel so special, especially my wife, and our server, McKenzie was incredible....if she isn’t already, she should be a team leader. The food was spectacular.....our 4 meals were served to us in a timely fashion, we’re fresh, and nicely presented....all in all it was the best experience we have had at any Keg....
Though I do understand that dining for 1 is maybe not high on the priority list for some establishments,
I made the reservation for myself for NYE. When I arrived, ON TIME for my reservation, I was seated at the BAR. NOT overly pleased with this. There were tables that seat two available during my entire visit to the Keg.
PLEASE, maybe in the future, you could ASK if this is OK??
I was having a hard time being there. My FIRST NYE ALONE. Just made me feel like an afterthought. Had I KNOW I was goung to be seated there, I would NOT have come!
I sat there with the hockey game on an watching the bartenders make drinks. NOT exactly what I had planned!
The food though, great as always!!
This was the first time we were disappointed. We booked a reservation way in advance. We’ve always done this and always been seated at a table for two or in a booth. This time we were taken to the lounge and seated in a bar setting. Very loud and no privacy. We talked to the waitress and said we had a reservation and wanted a booth or a table. She said that wasn’t possible. We pointed out a couple of tables that were empty. She said they were reserved. We reminded her that we had a reservation as well and that we wanted a table or booth. She kept arguing. We were about to leave then she said she’d check with the managers. We finally got the seating we wanted but will not go back.
We went here for our New Years Eve dinner. Just the two of us❤️
It was extremely busy but the Keg did it again!!😁😁😁
We had a wonderful waiter “Corbin”. Very knowledgeable,
Keep up the excellent service, scrumpeous food and the wonderful staff!
We will be back soon!
