The Keg Steakhouse + Bar - Fort Street
horseradish, red wine herb jus
Overall was great, staff were nice, friendly, and helpful. We truly enjoyed our time.
The prime rib was cooked to perfection, the baseball steak was exactly as ordered! The side of asparagus was perfectly cooked. Jack our waiter was excellent, attentive and very knowledgeable !
We dined on the new patio and it was delightful. Server “Katie”was very personable and provided excellent service overall
First time ever we haven’t been happy with our experience here. Staff was very somber, didn’t seem happy to be there - no real interaction. Upstairs is SO dark. When we arrived we were sat in a dark booth - there were no other customers in sight. We asked to be moved, and were, thankfully. Food was “just okay”. Definitely not usual for the Keg.
Anniversary Dinner, we got what we expected
A great experience from start to finish. Our steaks were cooked perfectly and everything tasted fantastic!
Food tasted average and was served almost cold. It was really dark inside. We were seated on a table next to the kitchen which was really loud.
Ordered New York striploin medium rare , got medium well, wanted to return but waiter wanted us to look at cut inside light as we were outside, but we could tell it was overcooked as other 3 steaks were way rarer,
Eventually got a new steak and was fine.
I went for the steak and it was great! The accompaniments and appetizer left a little to be desired however. Also the ambience is negligible. I was at the downtown venue so there is little place to move more tables outside, but that would help.
My dinner of Filet was so tender you could almost cut it by using a fork. If you want a good steak dinner, go to the Keg.
Had an outdoor seating, food and service was great!
Always excellent food and service
Love the Keg classic menu. Great value.
Had a lovely 40th wedding anniversary dinner. Had the same waiter from the last time we were in to dine. Great food as always.
I understand things are much different during covid times, but this was my worst experience at a Keg location. My prime rib was overdone, and I did not want to complain about it for it would most likely be wasted. I was also automatically ordered the largest portion. Was this an automatic upsell? Then I had to remind the server, when he did bother to come to our table, that our children’s meals included a drink. Service was snail pace, so I decided against ordering our obligatory Billy Miner Pie to celebrate my son’s 10th birthday, all in an effort to get home at a decent hour. Glad I won’t be returning to this location for a while, if ever.
Took my grandparents out for a last dinner in Victoria as they are moving away.
The kitchen forgot about the appetizers we ordered, then mixed up the doneness of our steaks (normally I don’t complain about this, but my steak was served well done and I had ordered rare). When you’re paying 45$ for a steak, at a ‘steakhouse’, you would expect them to at least cook it somewhat close to as you ordered.
In apology, they paid for our 2 cheapest drinks (on a 200$ bill) Every time I’ve been, The Keg seems to consistently cook the steaks wrong. I guess that’s my last time dining with them.
Great table with a great view . Been there many times and the service , food and wine have never disappointed.
It was a pleasure to go out to dinner. As you know the Covid Virus has kept us all safely at home for a long time now. So we decided to celebrate our 47th wedding anniversary at the Keg on Fort, because we wanted a seat with views of our beautiful city of Victoria. We were not disappointed, our evening sunset view was spectacular, as was our dinner.
Arrived early for our reservation and we were promptly seated. Appetizers were good. Drinks were disappointing and my steak was average at best.
Grilled tomatoes was not really an adequate replacement for the normal grilled vegetables.
Previously I had a not as great experience when I had to wait for over 30-60mins because my reservation got stolen by another couple because my name was not called.
However, today's experience was absolutely perfect. The occasion is my boyfriend and I's 2nd anniversary and we had no regrets coming here. As per my request, we were placed at a quieter table with less noise and our waiter was fantastic. The appetizer, main courses, and dessert were absolutely delicious.
Decor could use a refresh. Food and service were excellent.
The tables seemed cramped for 4 people
The food portions are small and restaurant is pricey.
Good was warm but not hot.
I took my wife to the Keg for our anniversary, as I stated when I made the reservation. Any other time this has been acknowledged by the staff. This time it was overlooked, which was unexpected as the restaurant was not busy at all. Furthermore, the ambience of this particular Keg was not near the standards of the many other locations we have visited.
Food and service always great. Covid measures were in place, and felt very comfortable
Excellent food and service as always
We went for appy hour and thoroughly enjoyed a variety of appies at a great price. The staff were very friendly and careful to follow all the COVID guidelines. Will definitely be going back.
Server took over 15 minutes to bring menus or take a drink order, no
Body asked if we wanted another drink. The lighting was terrible and environment was cold. When the food came my steak was over cooked, the veggies were covered in so much oil and the cauliflower mash was cold.
By far the worst experience I have ever had at a Keg.
Server was awesome she made sure that all we need was there.
Great as usual
We appreciate the hard work that you are doing for Covid, but when you walk into the washroom and find one soap dispenser broken and the other one empty then we get really confused why you are trying so hard when the most important thing is washing our hands so we don’t spread the germs....
We hope that you take your washrooms more serious. It’s a lot more important than the sanitizing you are doing on your tables...
Bday. It was nice. Service was great.
Server was wonderful, food was great.
I have been going to The Keg for the past 40 years, here in Victoria and in Winnipeg where I lived for a long time. The food has always been good but the portions has dropped dramatically. You use to get a nice salad with your meal and the vegetables were always included with your meal, at no extra cost! I doubt that I will be going to The Keg for a long time. I have no problem paying for a good meal but you have to have better value of food for what it costs.
The servers are A1, friendly, courteous and always willing to go the extra mile for you.
Always a great meal, always great staff. Our server, Marc, was awesome.
We had pre ordered drinks and they were not ready when seated and hat to remind the server. They were wrong when they came. Service was not there. Unfortunate.
We will go back but it was not a great experience.
Great Server and Amazing food as always.
So nice to be able to dine in again, had a window seat. Our server Stephanie was excellent. The safety protocols made us feel safe and comfortable at the same time.
The Keg on Fort St. Has always done a fantastic job. Everything was great.
