I recently visited The Keg Steakhouse + Bar - Dunsmuir for a birthday dinner with a group of 10, and overall, my experience was a bit of a mixed bag. First and foremost, I want to give a huge shout-out to our server, Wayne. He was absolutely fantastic! Warm, welcoming, and always checking on us to ensure everything was going smoothly. His service really made the experience enjoyable, and he was a true highlight of the evening. Now, onto the food. I started with the mushroom dip, which was amazing! It was definitely a standout dish. Unfortunately, the rest of the meal didn't quite live up to expectations. The steak, while decent, was nothing special — it didn’t have the flavor I was hoping for from a famous steakhouse. The sides were also underwhelming; the green beans were bland, and the beets were just... well, beets — nothing exciting or unique. I was expecting a lot more from a place with such a well-established reputation. As for the drink I ordered, it was not great. The taste was off, and I couldn't really enjoy it. The restaurant itself was very chic, large, and welcoming. The ambiance was lovely, and they made sure we felt comfortable throughout the evening. A very nice touch was the birthday cake they gave me — just a single piece with a candle, but it was a sweet gesture and delicious, too! However, when considering the price point, I felt like the food didn’t deliver in terms of flavor or quality. With the price we were paying, I expected something more exciting and satisfying. I’d rate my overall experience a 7 out of 10, mainly because of the service and the lovely birthday gesture, but the food just didn’t hit the mark for me. Unfortunately, I don’t think I’ll be returning.

Celebrated my Birthday with my husband a few days early and had a delicious dinner !! Service was outstanding thanks to our regular server Dallas who always makes our visit to the Keg a wonderful experience.

It was an unusually busy night with the Messi soccer game but our food took way too long and we sat next to a very large group which made it quite loud.

Had a great dinner in the bar area. While a little loud, it was the bar area, we were able to have a conversation and hear each other at normal level. The staff were welcoming and paid attention to the guests. Ourselves and everyone around us seemed happy with their service. It was busier than normal as there was a concert on that night but no long waits for drinks or food. Overall great experience.
