The Keg Steakhouse + Bar - Desert Ridge
Our waitress was a good server but bad communicator’ couldn’t run down the specials and just said oh well never mind.
Other then the valley girl service we enjoyed the food.
Bright spot for the server she had picked up my steak knife before our Entrées came I thought for sure I wouldn’t be able to eat my steak when it came’ but to my surprise our server brought knife out before the meal showed up!
We have been going to the Keg for years to celebrate our anniversary and birthdays. Never had anything but great dining experiences. We are looking foreword to the next opportunity to dine there again.
My wife's steak was well done instead of medium as she ordered. They not only brought her a completely new plate they also comped us for her meal! Kudos to our server Carlos and management for taking care of us, we will most definitely be back!
Went with the recommendation of the concierge at the Marriott. I had the prime rib (along with the very potent Horseradish) and my wife had a steak. Both dishes were very good. Our server Kyle was very attentive as were the house managers. The noise level was a bit energetic on this Saturday night, but not enough to create listening problems. I will go there again the next time I am in the area.
It’s always a great experience at the Keg..food was amazing!
Great steaks and seafood. Would definitely recommend for special occasions
Food was very good with exception of lobster. Supposed to be 8 Oz of lobster pretty sure was not even close. Everything else delicious and service was great. Noise level kind of high due to a crying baby but thankfully didn’t last all evening. Seating was tight-7 of us crammed into table for 6-:ended up putting one at the end- why not use another small table to allow more comfort- no one sat at the two top.
Our one and probably only visit to the Keg was OK, not great. We both had the Prime Rib and it was very good. My twice-baked potato was dry and felt like it had been prepared and reheated. The restaurant environment feels like something out of the 80's; waitresses in tight black dresses, dark heavy feeling decor, and very noisy. It didn't help that we were seated next to the kitchen; when I asked to be moved, I was told it would be a 5 minute wait until the server for that area came on. We were on the clock (attending a concert at the MIM) so I declined. Should have waited ... it was really a lousy table. Our server was very attentive and did a great job. All and all, an average night ... not bad, not great, but not what I wanted.
Good place for us and another couple -- we were very happy.
This was our second time here and it didn't disappoint. Food and service was amazing.
Always have the best quality food AND it is always DONE CORRECTLY. The level of service is what you would expect at a five star Michelin restaurant!
This restaurant always surpasses our expectations – and my standards and expectations are exceedingly high ! Thank you!
I'd been to The Keg before and had wanted to take my hubby there for his birthday prior to a concert we were seeing at the MIM. The wait staff was very nice and we were greeted and seated promptly. We did have reservations. Our server was very sweet and attentive. I ordered the shrimp cocktail and filet mignon...medium rare at the suggestion of our server. My husband ordered the terriyaki steak. Shrimp cocktail came quickly and was absolutely delicious. We also had some really good bread prior to dinner. Dinner salads were HUGE. I had the Caesar salad but didn't care for it because it had too much cheese and lemon, but most people would probably like it. Greens were very fresh though. Hubby had regular green salad and he said it was "ok" but I could see it was big and fresh. Steaks came out, his was cooked on the rare side (he likes his medium well) but he ate it. Mine came out too rare for me as I really prefer mine medium but it was suggested that I order it medium rare so it's not too well done. So I ended up sending my steak back and it came out too well done, but at that point we were going to be late for our show so I just ate half of it and brought the other half home for my dog. It was good though, tasty and I'd order it again, only I'd order it medium. Loaded baked was delish and it came with mushrooms and green beans. Very good all in all. I had the most delicious creme brulee for dessert and the server comped my husband's dessert for his bday. A mocha ice cream pie of some sort. He loved it. Dinner came to around $100 not including tip. Very good food, but very pricey. We'll definitely go there again though. Oh, music was WAY too loud, we could barely hear each other and we were sitting right next to each other. Otherwise a very nice dinner.
Loved it! Go all the time on special occasions. Great food and drinks.
Great evening celebrating a birthday and our friends 51st Anniversary. A Happy Anniversary card was waiting at our table, a red rose for the birthday girl and one for the Anniversary couple and if that wasn't enough the manager came to our table at the end of the evening with 4 glasses of champagne!
And did I mention the dinner was DELICIOUS. Baseball Top Sirlion (2), Braised short rib and Parmesan Crusted Halibut to die for. For sure we will be back.
Great food and great service we are here from Minneapolis. Always have dinner at least once a week.
Great ambience, good food, and the service exceeded our expectations.
Great food, pretty loud in the bar and poor lighting if you need to read the menu and a little expensive
I had made a note it was for a birthday when I reserved the table. Not only did they recognize a birthday in our party (my wife and I and it was her birthday) but then presented her with a handwritten card and free dessert. Very nice touch!
The Keg is a favorite spot to unwind after a long week. Wonderful food and attentive service!
It is a shame that The Keg has now joined the maddening music to rush you out program. Spending $150 (dinner, drinks and dessert for 2) you would hope they wouldn't feel compelled to blare 80 and 90s rock. Even asking them to turn it down, which they did for 5 minutes before cranking it back up. Loved coming here as one of the few places we had left to hold an adult conversation while enjoying a nice meal. Sad that we now wont be back.
Loved it. Stephanie provided great service.
Really good food at reasonable prices. Service this evening was especially great
We came from Seattle, Wa so we are VERY familiar with the food and is was one of our favorites. Now that we live here we're presently surprised that they have franchises here in Az. Everything was excellent and couldn't have been better.
We frequent the Keg and just love the food and service.
Wow! Great place I'm so happy we gave it a shot! Hubby and I found our new date night spot!
Always a great experience at this place! Service was phenomenal, even on New Years Eve!!
Dined here for New Years Eve dinner. Great deals on preset menu options. Steaks were cooked perfectly! Great dining experience.
Food and service were excellent but noise level was waaaay too high. Could not hold conversation.
Love the Keg! Food is great, the bar is the place to be!
Seated within a few minutes of reservation time. Staff professional and friendly. Very busy, so a little wait for first contact by waiter, but after that everything went very smoothly and at a good pace. Food was very good, with steaks done to perfection and well seasoned. Sides also very good.
Always delicious food and great service are the hallmarks of The Keg. Enjoyed another fantastic New Years Eve dinner. The server was attentive and had a great personality (even though it was extremely busy). Food was excellent (as usual), steaks cooked to perfection. Highly recommend The Keg got any special occasion!
It was New Year's Eve and very busy. Food was good but service was spread thin. Didn't ask if we wanted another drink or if we wanted a salad with our meal. Forgot the scallops and asparagus that should have come with our entree. Probably best to avoid a holiday.
Absolutely amazing Filet Mignon. Great servce. Will definitely be going back.
NYE supper was abysmal. Loud, slow service, food mediocre. Disappointed.
Food was great, very busy for NYE but expected. Wine was slow and check was wrong but nothing major.
We were greeted with a cheerful Happy New Year and seated promptly. Super busy and all staff were really working as a team. The food was all great from warm bread to dessert. I wouldn't say we are picky, but my husband is an Executive Chef so I'm guessing we are harder to impress than most and we were impressed and can't wait to come back!
First, I loved this place when i used to go in Vancouver, BC. Then I was thrilled when it showed here just down the street. In the past - great, but for New Year's Eve, a real disappointment.
We're not picky, but paying good money for less that good product doesn't make any sense. The waiter almost cared that we were there. He took the order, saw him maybe once then at check time. Some hostess of maybe a female manager came by to check but truly she might have well saved the time. Her check in questions seemed more like duty than interest.
The food, was so so. The prime rib portion (i think I ordered a 14 oz) was certainly not nearly a pound. I had about a third of it and took the balance home - which I weighed on a digital scale at 5 ounces. The caesar salad dressing was so watery that it barely stuck to the lettuce and if it had ever come close to garlic, it was only because it was in the same room. VERY lacking in any sort of good caesar taste. And, not that it's a big thing except to show inconsistency, I didn't even get any crotons.
The "garlic" mashed potatoes as they were explained again didn't have even a hint of the herb. Maybe the kitchen ran out that day and no one knew? The temp would be listed as - TEPID I believe. My companion ordered the "enhanced" prime rib with the added seafood of 5 shrimp (she was told). She only got 3.
When I had arrived early I ordered a drink in the bar and got the "premium pour" or whatever they call the larger size that came with a carafe of extra spirits or soda on the side. When I ordered the same from the waiter at the table, he brought the same size glass, but no little carafe. When I checked the bill it was the same $11 as before but... no carafe. Not sure if they have different drinks or different procedures in the dining vs the bar but... consistency is a good thing.
A beautiful, high end place and in the past, everything has been super. This time... I wouldn't invite anyone to try it based on Monday evening.
Thank you Stephanie for a wonderful New years eve , great service fantastic food no one on the team looked stressed at all on one of the busiest nights of the year go team Thanks to the Chefs!!
Awesome as always, the food came as ordered, a bit of a wait but well worth it.
The waitress was very attentive to our wants and needs, she was very pleasant & fun.
Sure to return for that next special occasion.
Unfortunately, this time was disappointing to us. Server although very sweet was not attentive at all. They ran out of bread, took an hour to get the crappy rolls they made to replace their normally delicious sourdough. The steak was cooked perfectly but the potato which I requested plain came loaded. A lot of mis-steps on their part which has become the new norm for this location which is so disappointing since this was our go to place for a nice steak dinner. The management did however do their best to try and correct the situation.
