The Keg Steakhouse + Bar - Calgary 4th Ave Ratings and Reviews
We made a reservation for 4 people and unexpectedly had a 5th join us for dinner. It was a busy day but Brittany (manager on duty) “worked her magic” to get us in. She was professional, and exceptional. Our food and service was perfect. Thank you for a great night.
service was painfully slow, food was sub-par. Took 20 min for our waiter to show up (finally was served water), received our drink order about 20 min later. my wine order was wrong ( and the waiter spilled red wine on the table which I mopped up with my napkin) and our other drink finally showed up brought by a manager. one steak was good, the other was an end cut and full of gristle and fat - my husband could not eat much and left most of the steak on the plate. salmon was just ok. When we tried to get the cheque it took 30 min, at which point we really just wanted to leave..almost 3 hrs for dinner, we could not recommend the Keg. It was a big disappointment.
My wife and I reserved a table for Valentines Day. The food was amazing!!!!!!!!! the steak I had was the best steak I have ever tasted. The restaurant itself is very beautiful , the bathroom was nicer than some restaurants we have been too ! Great atmosphere you can talk normally and be heard. Our waiter was awesome very friendly and accommodating he was always close at hand if we needed him.
The restaurant was really nice and the food was great. But the server was the best part. Zofia was amazing! We talked to her throughout the night and really got to know her. She was so friendly and fun to chat with. I would definitely go back just to have her as my server again!
one meal was med R should have been Med well took awhile to come back after it was sent back, out most of the group had finished eating, another came out with out sauce (steak Oscar) and had to be sent back for sauce.
go to this location a lot but tonight fell a little below the usual standard.
I’ve been to The Keg (other locations) several times and the food never disappoints. This was my first time at this location and I have to say I loved it! My husband and I took my mum out for her birthday so I made a reservation for the event. As I said earlier, the food is always good, you can never go wrong, but what impressed me the most was that they put a little hand written birthday card on our table for my mum. I’ve celebrated birthdays at The Keg before (other locations) but I’ve never been given a birthday card, so this little touch really impressed me!
I am so happy I decided to come for a baseball stake at the keg, in the Westin in Calgary Alberta, on 4th Ave., Southwest. The food was outstanding, the environment was comfortable and cozy, and the service was over and beyond. I will definitely be going back. My server/waiter was absolutely perfect. He knew what to offer, he had nice conversations, and he didn’t stand over me when eating or paying.. such a wonderful gentleman. His name was Mark. I truly hope he gets this feedback, as well. If anyone deserves to hear it, it’s him. I tipped $15 on a $40 bill and would do that any day for Mark’s service. Great job, to say the least.
It's not very often that we are able to have an evening out as a couple togeather without the children. Our experience at the Keg was nothing short of excellent from the moment we walked in until we picked up our coats and left the building. Wonderful service, amazing ambiance, excellent wine selection, fantastic appetizers and an incrediblly delicious main course. We highly recommend this restaurant for a stellar dining experience which will leave you totally satisfied and not break the bank at the same time.
The staff made us feel welcome in multiple ways. From the moment we walked in, newborn in tow, the staff found a cozy spot for us to set our child seat down. The staff was all warm and friendly, complimenting our baby. The special was described eloquently, the wine was delicious, and the food was perfectly cooked. We enjoyed an appetizer, main, and dessert. You can tell that the quality goes into every decision. Local wines fairly priced, generous portions of meat and vegetables, fresh real whip cream, authentic cheesecake, right down to the buttery crust. We were extremely impressed.
To top it off, we were heading to the flames game and had a staff member offer to upgrade our seats with his own personal tickets that he couldn’t use.
A true testiment to what human nature can look like, all found in one restaurant. Thank you again from my family to all of you!
Surprised at the amount of child and babies in almost every section.
It would of been nice for my 93 year old father in to be offered a chair instead of being seated in a booth and asked to to sit in a chair.
Hostess walked to fast. Do you do any training on how to serve seniors?
From Josh taking my phone inquiry and accommodating my seating request, to the excellent quality meal (we had steak, yummy!), to the friendly customer service of server Ciro, The Keg was a wonderful place to share a meal and celebrate a special occasion. I look forward to returning soon!!!
The restaurant was very busy, and staff seemed to be somewhat disorganized. We were seated well past our reservation time. In the mean time, we had a drink in the lounge area, but to get a seat there there was also a wait list so had to stand in the entrance area of the lounge.
Appetizers were good and as expected. The main courses were a different story. The steaks were over cooked. We informed the waiter and he said he would check with the kitchen and be right back. 5 minutes later he still was not back. The manager just happened to be walking by at that point and asked how our meals were and we showed him that are steaks were way over done, and informed that our waiter was checking on it with the kitchen for the past 5 minutes. The manager did get our steaks replaced promptly (still no sign of the waiter though).
This location used to be very good both in food quality and in service. Like many things in life things change, and in this case it is not a good change.
Easy to book on a Friday night. It was busy and a bit loud near our table.
Service was wonderful and personable. Great menu. Food was delicious. Ordered a cocktail (old fashioned) that tasted sour and was rather suboptimal, but can't win them all. Overall, good experience.
Inconsiderate host (male in suit), I have a young son and 6, large adults and place us in a booth. Logically speaking, it doesn’t make sense; asked the host to put us in a more comfortable area and not only he wasn’t accommodating but he was rude. Server was great though.
