Thankful for reopening - great food and service as always

The Keg is doing a great job keeping patrons safe during their reopening.

Was good and efficient! Server was friendly! Overall experience were good.

With excellent service we had a patio table but the weather cooled and we we moved inside quickly and easily. Food was delicious and service great.

My steak was spectacular! Imthis was my first time there after they reopened and I had a very good experience.

well I think that getting back to the new normal requires patience and understanding which both my friend and I exercised as we were served lukewarm coffee and the same for the butter for my king crab. I ordered a Greyhound drink and the bartender must have used canned or cheap cartoned grapefruit juice because I couldn't drink it -- yeah, pretty bad but we were not charged which was great. Also I had to wait for the proper tools for getting at my king crab -- then I got the cruncher but not the little fork. Had to ask again for that. The manager stepped in a couple of times and smoothed things out for us so we understand and will expect better next time. The Keg is still my favourite but with new owners, I wonder. Will it maintain its excellent quality of food and service? I would always recommend The Keg but maybe not at this very moment in time.

I was great to get back to the Keg. Always the right place to have a pleasant evening.

Due to the Coronavirus situation, the restaurant was quiet. But that doesn’t seem to dampen the waiter’s spirit, his service was excellent. Food was good, though the fried calamari could be improved . It was quite tasteless and the batter was soggy. The beer and the prime rib sliders were excellent

Honestly the best Keg locations. Great ambiance and the food and service is never disappointing. I can't wait for the summer patio!

Chose the place based on the beautiful setting. We previously tried Marketplace which was on the same floor and had our eyes on the Keg as out next dining destination. The Service at the keg was a mixed bag. As we approached the door of the keg, there were a few staff seeing us and I was disappointed that there sere no attempt to open the doors despite them being very close to it. No issues opening the door by ourselves but we did not feel welcomed. Moving forward, we were allocated to a seat which was in a very noisy section presumably with a group of students. I requested a window seat at the lower section but was denied as it apparently was closed but I still see people dining there after a while? Some flexibility would have been great. Service when served was good but I found myself standing up twice to look for assitance initally and after its looking out a few times before been actually attended. The food : The sides were quite nice especially the double potato. Sirloin was too tough for our liking but the manager made amends and even deducted the steak portion which was a nice touch. Lobster was not bad and so as the Rib Steak( big portion). Since it's celebrating our birthday, we were given a dessert and we like the cheesecake. All in all, still not a bad place to enjoy an evening.

It was a decent experience, but decent just doesn’t cut it at this price tag. The waiter had a good personality and was witty, but spent too much time back and forth between the kitchen for a couple other tables. It took nearly a hour between ordering food and the food coming to the table. When it takes that long for food to come up, I expect that the food will have been cooked properly. Unfortunately my wife’s dish had uncooked scallops on it.

The manager and kitchen manager were quick to apologize, and didn’t charge us for part of my wife’s meal. In such a competitive area for steakhouses in this price point, I would suggest going elsewhere if you want a quality meal.

The Keg gets points for being consistant and dependable. We have never had a bad experience and the staff are always pros. This evening was no different. Our table was cozy and private and our server was there when we needed her. If there is one negative that I would say is that there are no vegan items on the dinner menu and only one on the salad menu. As a new vegan, I was disappointed that I had no choices. Since more people are eating a plant based diet, it would be really nice if some options could be added to the menu. Thank you for considering this

Always love this Keg. I come all the way from Pitt Meadows to go to it. Better than any of the Kegs closer to me.

This is our "go to" streak restaurant. Our server tonight, Brandon, was superb, and the food was as good as ever. We've never been disappointed.

We really loved our family dining experience at the Alberni Vancouver Keg. The restaurant is well designed allowing for more privacy and less noise. The food was excellent as were the staff. Highly recommend checking out this Keg location!

I found the space limited causing it to be Claustrophobia the walls that divide the tables are tall and table space felt very tight and uncomfortable i prefer the KEG down in yaletown nicer venue to dine but hey give it a try you might like it...

The service was great, the food was delicious our sever recommended some very good wine. Overall everything was very good

The cake has changed over the last while for me and my family. I did visit the keg with my child to celebrate my 40th birthday and a girls weekend as we were staying at the Shangri-La across the street from your restaurant. Everything was fabulous and I believe this was due to our server as there were many issues with our food, but I did not want to make a big deal on a special day. I ordered the prime rib classic meal and my daughter ordered two mushroom Neptunes. My Caesar salad was overdressed to the point that the lettuce was limp. And there was a large chunk of lettuce that was brown and I had to send the salad back. My partner and I took our two closest friends to The Keg to enjoy our 11th anniversary. What an amazing lunch, 3 fantastic bottles of wine excellent food and to top it off we were treated to desert compliments of our server. We spent 3 hours and had a wonderful afternoon. Thank You for making a memorable day perfect.

Was disappointed with the waitress in the end. The bill was approx 58.00. We left 65.00 cash. Three 20.00 bills and one 5.00 bill.
She took the money. We sat there another 10/15 min before we got up to go. Half way towards walking to exit, she stopped us n mentioned we had short changed her. One 20 bill was pulled n replaced with 5.00! I told her there some mix up on her part as she had two 5.00 bills in her hand when we had only given one 5.00 bill. Was getting late for work n handed her another 20.00 bill and left. Your staff may need to count money before leaving. Very unusual situation !! Disappointed.

Yes. Service was courteous and although I have no real complaints, we didn’t have much follow-up in terms of water refills, or if we needed anything else, or if we wanted dinner. We were asked if the food was ok, and did get more water once, so it’s not that we didn’t get service. We just felt a bit rushed and a bit ignored, but otherwise we had a nice time.
