Wine pairing was poor. Jazz was not as good an normal in both quality and quantity. Food was nice as normal. But they have lost a few of the nice extra touches they had before.
Perfect for a special date night! Great service, beautifully presented and tasty food, and good music.
We enjoyed our evening at the Jazz Lounge very much. The vocalist was charming, communicative and very professional. The trio worked well together.
During the evening we enjoyed excellent wine advice from the sommelier and the meal was excellent. A really lovely ambiance.
An amazing experience. We enjoyed the 5 course tasting menu with paired wine and it was fantastic. All the staff wonderful and the music really made it. We thought excellent value for money given the quality of the food and performance plus the glasses of champagne included with our reservation - a really memorable way to celebrate and we’ll definitely be back!
Excellent food made to our liking by a wonderful chef.
Lovely performance by the Jazz band and exceptional service at the cigar lounge.
Couldn’t have asked for a more relaxing evening
The food and service were high class, the atmosphere was friendly and the live music was special and intimate, can’t wait to book again, not cheap but very special and good value.
Wonderful atmosphere from the moment we arrived to the moment we left. Staff were very attentive. The food was great. The music was smooth and tailored to the audience. A wonderful way to spend an evening for my partners birthday. Hey it's a bit expensive but some things are worth paying for.
The music on Saturday 1st September was excellent. Service was top quality and the tasting menu was of a high standard. Overall the venue is special and the band made the night for us.
Definitely a special occasion restaurant (not only because of the vert high price!). We really enjoyed our evening. Delicious food and attentive staff. Lovely jazz music albeit in a very formal atmosphere. Wine list is ridiculously expensive. We paid £100 for an average bottle (there were hardly any bottles below £100; a small selection was available at the circa £60 mark but that was the low-end). Meal for two was almost £400 (a la carte)! So the set menu is definitely better value.
-Nice small intimate venue not too busy and nice live music
-Food was a bit boring (set menu offer)
-The venue is a bit smaller than average
-Occasionally you can smell cigar smoke coming from the bar area which is in another room
It was OK. it is perfect if you are looking for a quieter smaller place.
Nice place with good atmosphere. Food was good, but not outstanding. The jazz act could've been better.
It has been a superbly special experience from the time we stepped inside the hotel.
The ambience, the food and overall service was way beyond and above our expectations.
The only thing that spoilt our experience was the timing of serving the 5 courses. We got the 1st course after 30mins and I didn’t get the second course until almost an hour later!
The Jazz was great so was the food and ambiance.
Fantastic evening- intimate setting with beautiful live jazz music to accompany a lovely meal.
Wonderful evening for a birthday celebration. The service was outstanding and the food was really nice. My only complaint is the food is a bit expensive for what it is - however, if you consider the experience/music is embedded in the cost it makes a bit more sense.
Great service. Good food.
intimate environment with live music and decent food. Good service too. The £45 deal is slightly limited but tasty nonetheless.
The ambience and the service was very good. Mocktail was impressive. My starter and main were also tasty; however my friend's ones were too salty. Desserts totally failed I'm afraid - terrible texture and the taste was plain.
Loved the jazz, would recommend.
Absolutely wonderful - had a fabulous birthday, thank you so much.
We booked the Jazz lounge to celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary and we were not disappointed! Beautiful intimate setting, fabulous jazz music, delicious food, lots of it (we went for the taster menu) and excellent and attentive service - what more could we ask for? Highly recommend a visit for any special occasion, can't wait to go back!!!
Very nice atmosphere and great food. We wouldn't have liked to have been sitting in the front seat (too close to the singer), but seats in the corner were perfect to watch, listen, chat and eat.
Great food but the place is slightly overpriced, cocktails at £20,for what they offered. However, the service was exceptional.
All I can saw is Awesome!! Perfect for a date!! Can't go wrong!!
Brilliant place and nice food. The live jazz performance was really good and a very comfortable environment.
Food was very good - nice tasting menu with good variety and well presented. The special surprise dessert was very good (I won't spoil the surprise). The entertainment was OK but the room is a little small and feels a bit like a private dining room rather than a restaurant. It wasn't very busy and lacked the buzz of a usual Friday night dining experience and at times I felt a bit sorry for the singer as she was singing to a handful of people, some of whom looked totally disinterested. Overall it was a nice evening but we won't be rushing back.
Lovely place but I thought the music was not the kind of jazz I was expecting and it was not the kind of lounge I had in mind. Also portions were tiny. Anyway, we had a nice time.
We had the 5 course tasting menu (which ends up being a few more after they add in small dishes in between some of the courses), which was really good. I felt as much effort had been put into the vegetarian menu as the normal one, and everything was presented beautifully, and the staff were very attentive. The live jazz was great, and you were still able to have a conversation. It is a very small restaurant.
Amazing Evening! Excellent music, food and service!
Great jazz singer and backup musicians and very good food. Would highly recommend to people who want a really nice night out.
Great experience, nice Jazz. Amazing service and great food. Everything high standards .
Very good food. Excellent friendly service. Emanuelle particularly. A wonderful Valentines Evening.
Excellent service, stunning décor, tasting menu good value for money even with the wine pairing option... Staff very attentive and very knowledgeable.
Music was also excellent and they even through in a couple of requests
The fantastic live jazz music was unfortunately let down by the poor food and mediocre service. Every dish looked incredible and was impeccably dressed but somehow lacked flavour (from the amuse-bouche through to the petit fours). The service in the restaurant was ok but nowhere near what you'd expect of a five star hotel. The service in the bar was very poor and inattentive. Would not recommend going there for a drink before dinner. If the jazz duo played somewhere else, I'd probably consider going to see them there, but never again at the Wellesley London.
Fabulous food and atmosphere!
This was our second visit to this venue and we were not disappointed. The service is excellent as is the quality of food. We again chose the tasting menu [different courses from our previous visit] and were delighted with the results - well presented, good quality and included some additional surprise courses. The entertainment is always of a high standard. It makes it a very memorable and enjoyable occasion. Perhaps the only thing to be aware of is that the wine list has an extensive but rather expensive set of choices, with the cheapest bottle around £40. There is an option to have wine to accompany the tasting menu which is around £50 extra but which provides for a supply of good wines across the evening.
I was hoping it was going to be more fun, as I read reviews the ambience was great and was expecting lots of buzz. However, at least that eve, it was a more of a quiet night with jazz music which was great but more for a date night than friend's evening out. Food was delicious!
We had a lovely evening - cozy table for two , excellent food & superb vocals from musical act.
They did perform some jazz along with show tunes & easy listening pieces.
Tasting menu was excellent - especially the duck ravioli & dessert plate
Good wine list
Service very good - charged at 12.5%
Two small niggles - there was only two other tables in so not much audience atmosphere & coffee although lovely was overpriced
Would recommend - perhaps ask when you are booking how busy they are
