Food and ambiance outstanding. Service was amateur. Could not remember who ordered what, took plates before we finished. All rookie mistakes and insufficient training.
I would normally give this a 5 star review - however, I did not because I have discovered that this restaurant not only charged my credit card for my dinner they also charged my credit card for an additional $280 for another parties tab. I have not been able to reach them to see what the excuse is or how to rectify the issue.
I had a fantastic dinner last night at Jamesport Manor Inn. I had the oysters,my favorit, with the lemon granite, outstanding. And the Filet Mignon cooked perfectly. The haricot verts were also just perfectly cooked. My friend had the New England Clam cowder, which was delicious, she said. Husband had the peach salad,he wanted more and the salmon. Just wonderful. The peach Cosmo was fabulously refreshing. I called the restaurant today, for the ingredients and the gal graciously gave it to me. I'll be making them tonight. Can't recommend enough 5 stars.
One of the best restaurant's on the North Fork! You get what you pay for, locally grown food.
Staff is attentive to patrons. My family love going to hidden treasure!Makes me HAPPY,HAPPY!
Our visit to the Jamesport Manor was a very good dining experience and both cozy and romantic. All our dish selections were savory and well presented. The roast duck was one of the best we have ever had and the view of the grounds was very impressive. Service was cordial and efficient and we would definitely return for another dinner. Prices were fairly reasonable. The only criticism was that the rose wine selection (Lenz) was limited and proved to be a bit too acidic.
Without a doubt one of the best, if not the best restaurant on the north fork. Beautiful property well landscaped and a wonderful structure, food is impeccably prepared.
Great food in a truly lovely old mansion-type building. Ambience is the best and service is excellent.
We had been to the Jamesport Manor in 2011. We really enjoyed it.
Fast forward,,,we were disappointed.
The service was really lacking . The staff was not very friendly.
It seemed as if the server was not interested.
The room and table we were seated in was very dark.
When we asked to have the lights a bit brighter we were told it wasn't possible.
The food was very good; we had the salmon, rack of lamb and ravioli (no one liked the ravioli dish). The salads and appetizers were good as well.
We will go back for lunch..
A favorite of ours. Food, staff and ambiance .....always excellent.
Very nice historic location to enjoy your meal and friendly conversation.
great spot in an old circa 1700's mansion. Food is excellent
Food and service were both excellent. We were eight people and everyone enjoyed.
Fried Brie, Grilled Salmon and Creme Brulee laptop notch delicious tasty cuisine.
Always excellent. Beautiful setting, attentive staff, and the best Bloody Mary on the North Fork. The food is great too.
Fathers Day & wife's Birthday.
Finally got to bring my husband for a last minute date night after I talked about how wonderful all of my lunch visits had been. First time dinner and the food was great. Service not so much. Which I have never encountered. Our waitress seemed a little checked out, maybe a bad day. It happens. Not sure but our drinks were never refilled and it just seemed to take a while to get her attention for anything. Not holding it against the place, my husband enjoyed his meal as a first timer. Will be sure to come back.
My wife and I had a wonderful meal here that beautifully featured North Fork produce and wine and Long Island seafood. The plates were imaginative and well executed. We were there shortly before the strawberry festival, and a striped bass dish combined , among other things, hominy and strawberries -- and it was delicious. This is certiainly bold inventive cooking that features local produce. I would never have imagined that one. The Tuna was more conventional, though also delicious, and served with a salad that had grace notes of different wild herbs mixed in in small amounts, so each bite was a bit different; The setting is pleasant, and the service friendly and attentive. We were staying in Southold, and for us the 25 minute drive to a great dinner was well worth it.
Aside from the filet mignon being well done after ordering it to be cooked medium, everything else was delicious and refreshing. Casual, ambient, and comfortable, we will go back but won't order the meat (it was really well done) again. The presentation was beautiful though, placed on top of whipped potatoes, surrounded by a generous amount of green beans...that made up for the meat disappointment. The sea bass dish my husband had was flawless.
High-quality, beautifully prepared and consistently great-tasting food at fair prices.
Great food service and atmosphere
Always a fan of this place. Had lunch with my brother and enjoyed it very much.
What a fantastic meal we had, I'm sorry it took us so long to dine here. The best cosmopolitan I've ever had. The local oysters with the lemon granita was so unique and delicious. I had the filet mignon, husband had the salmon, our friends had the mushroom ravioli and the duck; all were superb. I'm still thinking about the chocolate macadamia nut pie omg to die for.?our friends said the creme brûlée was exceptional. Can't wait to come back and also try the brunch
The waitress was awsome. Great food and service. We have been to jamesport manor quite a few times.
Our dinner was fabulous! My steak was super tender and delicious. Our server was most attentive. Food was served promptly, but not too fast. I would definitely go back and give the restaurant my highest recommendation.
Everything was excellent once again at the Jamesport Manor Inn. Everyone in our party of eight enjoyed the meal and the restaurant was very accommodating of two Celiac patrons.
The food and service was wonderful. I would definitely go back. Excellent find.
The staff was very accommodating, we should up an hour before our reservation and they seated us at a great table.
The food was good farm to table all local, fresh tuna caught right off Montauk point. My husband and brother-in-law agreed it was the best tuna they had ever eaten. Local wines were delicious and a good choice of locally brewed beer. All in all we thorough enjoyed our time there.
Excellent restaurant for lunch before/after visiting the vineyards.
The lobster BLT was good, but a little clumsy to eat as a sandwich. Also, a little more lobster would have been nice.
Good lunch, worth the drive. Good service. Lobster roll was skimpy on the lobster. I've had better.
