The service was very good and the food was delicious. We would definitely eat there again.
We arrived on time and we’re seated immediately. We were met by a very nice server who got us drinks and our menu right away. Everything up until this point was exactly what you would expect. Once we placed our order the apps came quickly and this is where things went down hill. It took well over an hour to receive our dinner from the time of order. The food was very good however two of the dinners came out cold. I understand that labor is tough right now and for that we will give them somewhat of a pass. There was no apology for the slow service which at the very least we should have received. Also a bit annoying was I called the day before to tell them we were celebrating a bday. The person on the phone said they were to busy and was unable to write that down prior to our arrival. I didn’t even bother to tell our server that days because we had enough at that point and just wanted to get out of there.
Service was so slow, we waited over an hour for our food and the person who served us was not very cheerful. Food arrived semi warm and one person had to send their food back. I would not recommend this place for a Saturday night, they were probably too busy and did not seem one bit friendly or attentive. This is the first time I have written a review for an establishment, very disappointing for a good friends birthday. Thank goodness we had ourselves to keep up the smiles as there were. none.
Food was very good. They didn’t allow any substitutions which is a negative. Also the waitress made the cocktails, not a bartender.
This is always a wonderful meal, and last night was no exception. We celebrated our 43rd anniversary and sat outside under a tent. Only 1 other couple was seated after us and it was also their 43rd anniversary SAME DAY SAME YEAR.
When I made the reservation I did indicate it was our anniversary and I assumed they would put a dessert of some kind with a candle on the table after our meal, that would be my only criticism, but most of the staff is young so perhaps they didn’t carefully read the reservation
Waiter incredible, food good, but sliced flank steak a little tough and fatty, beet salad pretty good
Great locally sourced food and great service. A real North Fork gem!
Very very good for the price, I always love the food I ordered, been there like 3-4 times, always enjoyed it. Only thing was the last time we were sitting upstairs and the lights were super bright for me. Was that for the artwork or the older crowd? Lol I would prefer if you turn the light down a bit
We love the atmosphere. Service, food are great. I would just add a couple of more dishes to the menu.
We always swing by The Jamesport Manor Inn whenever we go apple picking. The staff are friendly and the food is always fun. The outdoor seating is under an open-air tent with space heaters.
The blackened scallop appetizer was excellent. The 8ounce filet mignon medium rare was perfect and very tender. The half price 1995 Lenz Merlot was well worth it. Take the opportunity to order one of those half price local aged wines
As always a great experience
Very nice dining experience. Food was delicious and service was great. We initially had a reservation for outside but we asked to move inside because it was so cold and they were very accommodating. Would definitely go back next time we are in town.
Service was great and the seafood pasta was delicious.
October pumpkin picking trip out East. Son home from college
My wife and I went here for our anniversary. The food was great and they did a real good job of replicating the original manor house. Our only disappointment was there was a large party during our dinner which resulted in very slow service and a long wait for our food to arrive. Without asking, they offered us dessert on the house as a gesture for the long wait which to me exemplifies good service.
They were very busy and yet the service and food were outstanding.
As always, our meal and the entire experience at Jamesport Manor Inn were superb. The duck was perfectly cooked and the sides were delicious, too. Our server was unfailingly polite and efficient. This is our favorite restaurant on the North Fork.
Good outdoor dining layout and great staff. Food was good and menu had plentiful choices.
Amazing!! Celebrated our parents' 55th anniversary and the staff and restaurant made it even more special and beautiful. Food and ambience unbeatable!
This is our second visit to JMI and again we were "wowed." We had the fried brie and the grilled blackened scallops for our appetizers. Highly recommend! We ordered filet mignon and the seafood pasta for our entrees. Both were perfectly cooked and full of flavor. We indulged in dessert, which consisted of a pumpkin pie martini and the pumpkin pecan custard. The service and ambience were outstanding! We look forward to our next visit!
Staff friendly but perhaps could be a bit more attentive. They are very busy. Only One toilet in men's room. I guess its too late to change that. No hand towels in men's room. Clean though. I don't think the halibut could be more dry. My friend could not eat it and i tried it as well. I took it home for my dog. Very disappointing.
Very nice place and I will go back and would recommend to others.
The food was delicious. I’d even say one of the best pieces of fluke I’ve had in quite some time. That said, the wait was far too long for a restaurant of that size that wasn’t filled on a Saturday night at 6pm. Also, I made the mistake in not requesting a rectangle / square table as we have a baby seat for our 1 year old (this contains her and has the option for magnets w all her toys to keep her quiet). When we arrived I mentioned this and was told that the change could absolutely not happen. The high chairs that restaurants provide do not secure children so in 5 minutes my daughter broke free and we had to play “pass the baby” all night. This led to a rushed dinner (as rushed as possible since the food took forever), a no dessert / no after drinks option and the desire to never return despite how delicious the food was (and it really was!!). What really upset me it that 90 minutes into our meal (730pm) those tables that I suggested for a rectangle option were still empty !! Poor customer service to a family with a young child.
As always, the food and service was great. Thank you!
This restaurant has been my "go-to" for anniversaries, birthdays, wedding rehearsals, Mother's Day and other special event dinners with visiting friends & family. The fried brie & beet salad appetizers are both always well-liked while the main courses vary seasonally based on available local & fresh ingredients. The staff are always attentive, prompt & helpful. I don't know anyone who has ever been disappointed here - reliably delicious & high quality across the menu.
The ambiance outside was lovely & our server was acceptably attentive & the food was good. My husband had the filet mignon which was tender and flavorful. I had the Ahi Tuna and it was fresh although the portion size was small. The food runners are young & inexperienced. They delivered our side of Brussel sprouts after we finished our meal. It would have been a nice touch to take it off the bill but it did not happen. We are partially at fault because we did not tell them to take them back. Still, it should have been gratis. Desert was ok but the ice cream was partially melted. They have raised prices since we were there last month. We may not be back & that’s sad because we live so close.
Excellent staff and delicious food!
The food was unimpressive. My sandwich was cold. The service was rather slow. The atmosphere was lovely.
Restaurant very crowded as it was a Saturday evening and beautiful weather for sitting out. Food was a little slow but the waitress was always checking on us to see if we needed anything. Food was delicious.
Outdoor dining is beautiful and they have a new menu for autumn that is worth trying. Great friendly service is a constant!
Outstanding. Our meals—baked brie and lobster guacamole to start, duck and seared ahi for mains—were excellent. The kitchen deserves applause on food prep, quality and presentation. Drinks well made and timely delivered. Atmosphere is intimate and uncrowded with lovely views. Five star staff—server Kerry and busgirl Courtney in particular made our experience top notch.
Although they were short staffed, this team did an incredible job of making us feel welcome and of providing excellent service. We arrived early so we had to wait at the bar for a few minutes and even those the female server was doubling as a bartender, she was able to get us a drink while we waited. We then were seated at a very nice table outside and they immediately brought water and bread. Since we already had our drinks we focused on the menu. Our server came promptly and we were ready to order. My wife ordered the beet salad and the duck entrée. My wife is a big duck fan and felt this duck was right up there with the best. I had the duck drum sticks. They were incredible and I highly recommend them. For my entrée I had the tuna. It was cooked perfectly but more importantly the cole slaw bed was a bit spicy and delicious. All in all a fun summer evening.
Always delicious. Atmosphere is relaxing and can eat outside if preferred! Service is great
Enjoyed entire meal, one halibut slightly overcooked, otherwise fabulous
Jamesport Manor Inn is a reliable place for a nice dinner. I know and understand the industry has had a hard time hiring but it seemed like they had a decent amount of staff but everyone seemed to be scurrying around. The restaurant was steady, not super busy yet but after our waitress took our order she was MIA. She checked in once after we had our food but just gave the impression that she could care less. What could have been an excellent dinner was just good due to the service of our waitress or lack there of.
Excellent food and service. Will definitely return!
One of our favorite restaurants. James Port Manor never disappoints
Love the JMI! Setting, service, food - all first rate.
