The ambiance is unique. The clever way they accounted for social distancing improved the cozy feeling. Service was excellent. A bit pricey, but not more than expected. My only negative: the lamb chops were delicious EXCEPT the crust on the outer surface contained bits of charcoal or ash. Tasted like it had been dropped into the coals. Everyone else in the party was very pleased with the timeliness, presentation, and taste of their dinners.

Food was outstanding! Heard good things about the trout but went with pork chop and my wife had the tenderloin that practically melted in your mouth. So good! Ambience was perfect for a special Valentine’s Day dinner. Couldnt have been happier with the choice!

My husband and I came here for a Valentine’s Day dinner while in Charlottesville. We were seated at 7:20, host was gracious enough to give us water quickly after being seated. However, then we waited 15 minutes before a server came to our table. People were seated after us and were already being helped. It seemed as if they were confused on which server had our table. Once server came over and got our order, food came out very quickly. Food was delicious! I would definitely recommend the beef tenderloin if it is on the menu when you go. However, once we paid it took forever to get our card back and when we did get it we were notified they accidentally charged someone else’s meal to our card. This happened twice in the 2 days we were in Charlottesville. Overall, the place was good and I hope we just caught it on a bad night.

The staff was very helpful when I needed to make a last minute change to our reservation. We ate outside in an enclosed patio space. It was cozy and warm and the guest were safely spaced apart. The food was delicious and the server was friendly and prompt.

We received great service and excellent food on our visit to the Ivy Inn. We sat in the outside patio that was covered with heaters but with it being enclosed the heat got a little too warm by the end of our meal. Not a big deal as that’s something they can easily adjust.

Everything was excellent except that the restaurant had a 20-year old Port on the menu but did not have in stock. That was verydisappointing.

Great food and service was top notch at a reasonable price. My wife and I came to Charlottesville for a weekend getaway and dinner here did not disappoint.

We celebrated a friend’s 50th birthday here, and the staff was amazing - we had personalized menus and a special birthday dessert plate with her name written in chocolate! Simon was a wonderful server, and the food was delicious! We loved the menu variety and wine list! The atmosphere was also nice, as this was a home, and there are only a few tables in each room.

Delicious food and friendly service! The patio was warm and felt Covid safe with plenty of room.

I brought my wife here as a surprise for our 34th wedding anniversary.
They took the time to put our names on our menus with our anniversary.
The food was Excellent and the service was outstanding and at the end of dinner they came out with a plate with our names and anniversary writen on it in chocolate with a dessert.

We have never been disappointed by an Ivy Inn meal. This past Saturday was no exception. Very enjoyable evening.

We loved it! The chef also accommodated my request for a vegan entree!

The food was excellent! Filet was tender and cooked perfectly. Pumpkin seed crusted salmon was delicious and accompanying limas/sweet potatoes/sausage went perfectly with the fish. We can't wait to go back again!

Ivy Inn never fails to provide a stellar dining experience. From the perfect food to the lovely wine list (love that the Virginia wines are highlighted on the list) to the relaxing soundtrack, you cannot help but escape from the travails of daily life when you dine here. And tonight, on New Year’s Eve, Ivy Inn even supplied the festive tiaras and New Year’s hats for us to wear. Thank you!
