Dinner date with my wife. We love this restaurant. Best restaurant in town, by far.
We had a great experience at the Ivy Inn! Thank you for makng my 50th birthday so memorable. From the personalized menus, to the special treats , we truly enjoyed evey minute of our dinner! Service was impecable, food delicios and the ambiance perfect. Thank you for the attention to detail and an unforgettable evening!
Excellent! The Ivy Inn never disappoints. It’s a wonderful atmosphere with truly incredible food.
Excellent meal and service! They made us feel very special.
Very nice experience for a friend's birthday. Would definitely recommend!
classic dining in an old house; great food and service
The flavor combinations of our meals were amazing. The service and atmosphere were also top-notch. This beats all the other restaurants in town for an upscale evening. Portion sizes were great too. I didn't leave feeling cheated (like at some tapas places in town). If you're going to spend the money, you can't beat it.
The food and service were really so goodthat we will return but I want to redecorate the place.
They were wonderful! It was our anniversary and they really went up and beyond to be personal.
Great evening with good food and attentive service.
Absolute perfection. Doesn’t get any better than this anywhere. Food (amazing), service (professional and attentive), and atmosphere (relaxing and you can even have a normal conversation). The best in Charlottesville and one of the finest anywhere.
Truly amazing!! The Ivy Inn is a Charlottesville gem. We choose this restaurant for all of our special occasions! Always delicious. Always welcoming. Never disappointed. Worth every penny and then some. We recommend shrimp and grits appetizer, anything with oysters- salmon, beef tenderloin, anything pasta!, and most definitely the sticky toffee pudding for dessert. Bon appetit!
They took an extra effort to make our weeding anniversary special.
Food (salmon, steak, vegetables) was excellent across the board. Unfortunately service was very slow and then they seemed anxious to rush us out as we were finishing. I assume they needed the table for another reservation and the slow service created a problem.
We had an excellent dinner with similarly excellent service a week before so hope this was an off night for an otherwise excellent establishment.
Will not hesitate to return.
Amazing as always!
5/5 stars. Made my anniversary celebration outstanding. Food was delicious, wine was excellent. Complimentary glass of champagne & personal dessert made to celebrate occasion. Attentive and excellent service
Went there to celebrate girlfriend's acceptance into graduate school. They went above and beyond to make it a memorable occasion for us. Highly recommend
This was our first time at the Ivy Inn and what an impression. We were seduced by the fantastic food and wonderful atmosphere. Their signature drinks were amazing as well. We can't wait to come back.
This was our first visit to the Ivy Inn and after our celebration dinner it will definitely not be our last even though we do not live in Charlottesville. Farrell graciously accommodated our very late request to add two additional guests to our original party of four. We were greeted promptly and quickly made to feel special. The service was excellent as our server Simon took very good care of our party. The presentation of the food, the preparation of the dinners was all excellent! They even recognized the special events of two guests in our party. If you want a special evening of dining in a historic restaurant with all of the ambiance, then the Ivy Inn is your place.
We took our parents here for their 50th wedding anniversary. Ivy Inn printed special menus for our table of 10! which are wonderful keepsakes for our families.
The service is excellent. The food is excellent. The ambiance is quieter, in a respect for your fellow diners manner.
Could not have asked for more!
** will note:
When making a reservation for a group that needs ADA considerations, you MUST call the restaurant. They will do what they can to seat you on the first floor.
There is no handicap parking - I walked with my parents up the brick sidewalk, while my husband parked the car. This is not a deal breaker--as theparking lot is reasonably sized, just without handicap parking spaces.
