Our favorite from all Ivy Cafes ! Food good and consistent. Staff attentive.
A great all rounder
Was a nice place, food was good and I really enjoyed the chocolate bomb. We was sat in a tight corner by the door , people constantly walking past, didn’t disappoint though.
Good convivial atmosphere, service was the right side of attentive, and food was good value although some of the portions were arguably too large!
A super meal from start to finish. The food was delicious and the menu has something for everyone. The staff are exceptional and looked after us from the moment that we arrived. A great experience all round.
I have eaten here several times and have never been disappointed.
Enjoyed a lovely lunch here. Great service, good food and selection of wines. My only issue with The Ivy Brasseries are their noise level is high, it’s not always easy to hear. Would still recommend it though.
Went there having enjoyed a lovely quiet evening in the Birmingham Ivy. Marylebone Ivy is much noisier and has much less space per table, so our conversation wasn't as relaxed as I had hoped. But the service is attentive without being too intrusive, the food very good and the wine list good too. My sole wasn't a finely cooked as I hoped, but the general standard is very high.
Very welcoming and great service . Lovely waitress and great Maitre d.
The Ivy was not as good as the last few times and this was largely due to the service. Our waiter, Doston, was professional, very welcoming, warm and attentive as always, but the staff member who seated us and the waitress who took the payment from me could have done better.
My sister and I are both quite tall, 5 feet 8 (my sister) and I am over 5 feet 10 and upon arrival we were ushered to a table for 2 a few inches away from a busy table of 5 or 6 and next to a couple on the left. My sister and I also had shopping. I thought we would be cramped and as there were plenty of other 2 seated tables available, I politely asked if we could be seated next to the cash register. The woman who seated us responded by saying she needed to check, looked at the laptop, spoke to a colleague, went back to the laptop. We waited for at least 5 minutes and I was a little embarrassed, it was only Doston who turned around, saw us, asked if we were ok and took my sister's coat. Eventually we were seated, not at the table I had requested. During our meal I witnessed 2 sets of guests (a couple each time) being seated at a table for 4! In fairness, I think the first two people were waiting on someone who never arrived, but the other couple had been moved by the same woman who seated us due to feeling cramped! There were other tables for 2 available, so this did not make sense to me especially as my request seemed to create some extra effort! Similarly the waitress who took the payment for the bill returned with £30 change and when I smiled at her and said it was a tip, she just said, "Ok." A thank you would have been more appropriate.
The food, beverages and service from Doston, in particular, is amazing. I fully appreciate the fact that the Ivy is often busy, especially with the food, beverages, ambiance and service, but some of the staff need to be a little more attentive and make paying guests feel welcome.
The staff was very friendly and professional. The food quality was incredible and priced well.
A very pleasant meal, not the normal chain menu so a nice surprise to find a rabbit dish, of which was delicious. The staff were on top form. Certainly on my "Return Visit" list
As usual the Ivy Cafe, Marylebone was an enjoyable experience.
Amazing food, amazing staff. Would highly recommend this restaurant
A great Ivy Cafe. Had a lovely breakfast of Avocado and poached eggs on toast. Just scrummy !
Very attentive staff and a brilliant meet and greet by the Manager.
Table was booked for 8.30am . Waited for 15 minutes before having to call a waiter over to give our order. Herbal tea ordered came warm not hot. Possibly due to not heating the tea pot before hand. Food came very quickly. Had eggs royal. Eggs were perfect, however the avocado was so cold that the eggs and muffins went cold within a minute of the food arriving.
We were really quite disappointed in our dinner.
Firstly the servers weren’t able to give us a clear answer on the fish of the day - felt like they were lying to us? We had numerous different answers.
Then when the food arrived it wasn’t of a good standard. I had monkfish curry which was really quite dry (the fish and the sauce) and my friend had the steak which she had to send back because it seemed off.
Near the end the head waiter was able to help us with some final drinks when we were looking for something specific which was really great and managed to redeem the service. He also gave us some truffles for free at the end.
We’d done quite a lot of research beforehand to make sure we had good food on the night and unfortunately it didn’t match up, so I don’t think we’ll be back.
Loved the buzz and the service - my lunch guest was delayed by an hour and the team looked after me really well and made me feel very comfortable whilst I waited. Only disappointment was how close the adjoining tabLes were - felt like I was dining with my neighbours.
Amazing service !!!!
An excellent evening in every way though the restaurant is rather too noisy. Great value for money.
The restaurant, with its decor and ambiance is beautiful. The staff are welcoming and professional and make you feel like valued customers.
The delicious menu caters to various diets and the food is delicious. My sister and I recently indulged and tried the zucchini fritter to start, it is truly moorish. My aim is to sample most of the a La carte menu!
The beverages, non alcoholic, cocktails, hot beverages and wines are delicious.
Our waiter, on the last two occasions, Doston was absolutely lovely. He was professional, warm and with his wit, charm and knowledge of the menu he made a memorable experience even more memorable.
It was fir breakfast. It was quite a poor experience. Their credit cards were not working so they only took cash. The service was slow and the staff seemed a bit uncaring.
Went with kids 7 and 10 years. Food was amazing and the staff friendly!
Aiden was fantastic! Everything was perfect. Thank you.
Great food, service and atmosphere. Two courses, drinks and coffees came to £50 per head. Only minor issue was a bit of a draught from the windows but this didn’t spoil our evening. Would recommend.
I have been to this restaurant many times over the years but I will not hurry to return.
I think that the space between tables has been reduced and overall the quality has gone down. We were served a tired green salad and a smoked haddock and salmon fish cake was mainly mashed potato. Shame
Although the food was very good the service was extremely poor and amateurish for an establishment with such a reputation
We had a fantastic lunch experience with my parents visiting last weekend. The service was quick, attentive and top class and everything came in high spec and beautiful flavors. We keep coming back and love it every time.
Would not go here again. Bad service. Three member of staff asked us if everything was ok.. we said no and they did nothing. Do not serve Lobster if you don’t have the right cutlery!
We were a party of 4 for lunch, and I must stress that I was the only one not happy with the food. I had a prawn and avocado sandwich completely soaked in dressing wich killed the taste and freshness. I’d live to visit again because of the elegance of everything Else!
Very poor service, waiter didn't seem to care, no knives on table, starters came 45 mins after ordering with no apology until we asked about the delay. Then arrived with mains at same time, for the waiter to not even realise his mistake, he then took mains away and bought them back later on, again with no new knives and forks. We had to ask for condiments as nothing was offered. The Ivy experience was well off the mark. Have had better service at most high street pizza chains. Not worth the money they charge.
A fun restaurant with a modern British menu. Great ambience although noisy in the evening and a little cramped.
Great food, nice ambiance and friendly staff.
The crispy duck salad is a must.
As ever, excellent service. My guest was new and now is a convert.
Thank you for another splendid evening.
Normally very good. Sadly my green salad was past it's best with brown edges .I pointed that out to the restaurant staff. But no explanation was given.
Amazing as always! The food the place the staff especially two new waiters, who were really keen to please and enthusiastic
Great experience as usual. Was a birthday celebration and we were treated really well. Lovely, personal service. Mains were great though starters were not quite upto the usual high standard. Love this Ivy tho - it’s much more intimate and cosy than some of the other branches.
The location is nice. I really liked the food Service not great.
Always love a bit of the ivy cafe. Great food, lovely staff a great way to round a bit of shopping in marleybone
We loved this restaurant so much we went back the next night and had an even better time. The food is delicious -- every single thing we ordered was a hit. The staff super friendly and competent. I loved the host! Over two nights we had the salmon and the ribeye as well as the tuna and the lamp rump. All cooked perfectly. Also loved the peas and the herbed salad. FYI the sourdough bread has too thick and hard of a crust for me but everyone else in the restaurant (including my husband) seemed to love it -- still if you are weak jawed (as apparently I am) maybe go for something else. And now the desserts -- so wonderful! We had he chocolate bombe (twice) and the pistachio and raspberry sundae. both were heavenly. The bombe is ice cream and honeycomb inside a chocolate shell. They bring it to your table and pour warm caramel sauce on top which melts the chocolate and turns it into a heavenly dish. My husband and I had to fight over it -- I mostly won. We'll be coming back on every London trip...
Booked lunch as a treat for my sister as we were in London together for an appointent.
Had been before and wanted to treat my sister.
Made welcome on arrival, restaurant was busy but plenty of staff. Head waiter took our order and advised on menu. The staff seemed to have their own roles and we were served by several different people. However our drinks werent topped up, we ordered a bottle of wine and sat with empty glasses on 3 occasions, having to get the attention of someone to top up each time. Same as water refills.
Food waiting staff were quick to clear plates and bring dessert menus but the service with drinks was let down by this lack of attention and food staff apparently couldnt do it.
When we left not one person said thank you or goodbye.
Lovely food but wont rush back as left feeling underwhelmed on this occasion.
