A bit underwhelming. Food was pedestrian at best. Service was willing and able. Good for lunch or Happy hour. Doesn't measure up to the top restaurants.
Wonderful experience all around. Atmosphere, food, service, music. going back again soon
Dinner was okay, not impressed with the over all experience.
I booked an 18 person surprise party for my boyfriend. It was amazing! The service was great, food came out at a perfect pace. The chef did an incredible job with every single dish. We all enjoyed craft cocktails from the bartender, Carl. I would definitely go back any day of the week!!
Food was very good. It took quite a long time to get drinks and food. It was not very busy, so we don’t know why it took so long for drinks and food.
Good food. Quiet ambiance. Good service. Adequate parking
Fantastic dinner. The waiter, Will, was wonderful, friendly, and always there when you needed something. He helped us pick whiskey beverages that wound up being delicious. The dinner was amazing. Will definitely be back. Thank you.
Ashley, our waitress, was phenomenal. The food was excellent. And the wine/scotch list was more than impressive. The only downside was that they didn't have an espresso machine. I really wanted one after my delicious meal and drinks.
The Iron Room is an intimate dining venue with a creative menu. Our server, Will, was perfect - he was knowledgeable but not overbearing. We started off with apple pie cocktails which were nice. I had lamb and my husband had tilefish. Both well-prepared with unique ingredients. Could not fit dessert and now I wonder what we missed!
Fantastic food - the prix-fixe menu is an amazing deal!
Special food, drinks (bartender's lament & chocolate martini especially) & great service! We enjoyed everything!!
WE love this place and have never had a bad meal. Ashley is a great waitress and if you love whiskey, this is the place!
Server was extremely knowledgeable about the menu items, the wines and the whiskies.
Absolutely every component of our prix fixe meal was amazing. Special shout out for the udon mac & cheese. Amazing! The steak was tender, my tilefish was perfectly cooked and seasoned. We were there on a Tuesday night, 1/2 price whiskey. 3 of the 4 of us had whiskey flights with some REALLY expensive whiskeys, but with the 1/2 off, it was super reasonable. Great food, great booze, friendly servers- literally one of my best meals in a long time!
Starting w the Host lying to us about no tables ready, just to force us to sit at the bar for a drink. I looked in the dining room to see employ tables, which was the exact table they sat us at 20 minutes later!
poor service followed by them being out of local vodkas, some wine, very small portions of food, all of which could have been easier to deal with if the service was better. Almost as if they were annoyed by our presence!
We are foodies and rarely have anything negative to say. We will never return to this place! Very dissatisfied!!
The foie grois pierogies were amazing. The grilled octopus nicoise was spot on and our bouliabasse could only have been better if 2 nice sized slices of toasted French bread was served with it. Our cocktail...the paper plate was super tasty too
What a fabulous meal! Great pre fix menu. Will our server was outstanding. Will be back very soon.
Great. I met my future wife Dana. We are going to run off and do crimes.
Had the steak there unbelievable.... My wife had the fish that was also unbelievable... The clams were amazing... Just went to a high-end steak house the other day at the ocean this place has them beat
2nd time here and just loved it! Hole in the wall with amazing food! Great GF options and wine list fantastic! Huge fan!
When we were seated everything started out great, our server came over and introduced himself and gave us a bit of a talk about specials and notable whiskeys and seem very friendly and attentive. We ordered drinks which were great and started with two appetizers. However, our waiter never came back to check on us, mid appetizer, we had wanted to order another drink and he was nowhere to be found, after being done with our appetizer for almost 20 minutes he finally came back and took our order. the table next to us who sat down after us got their food before us. Very impressed with food. For our entrees we order the burger and the scallops. Both excellent. But we skipped dessert and got out of there since the service went downhill during our meal. Glad we tried this place at least.
Food was not up to par. Their udon Mac and cheese ( normally great) came out cold. While I’ve always enjoyed their food, my burger and my daughter’s burger were tasteless and dry. For dessert, we ordered the chocolate fudge cake which was so small it was eaten in 3 bites. I wanted to know what happened to the rest of the cake.
I’ve been hear many times, but I’ll take some time off. I will say that they have a great selection of whiskey, and my kids did a whiskey flight which they loved.
Used to be cooler. Now it’s just a restaurant.
At 6:00 they were out of scallops. The black salmon was supposed to be cooked with "chunk crab" but there was no crab in dish. Fried chicken was just fried chicken...no sides at all.. All overpriced
First, our appetizer came out cold. Then our Kobe burgers came out raw when we asked them to be medium well. When the manager came to speak to us he did not apologize and instead told us that the way the burger was cooked was correct.
We enjoyed the small plates. For 2 of us we had 4 small plates (pierogies, udon mac and cheese, bacon and octopus). All were good. The bacon could have been a little more.
The food and drink menu is outstanding. Small place, parking can be tricky, but the food is well worth it. 4 words: udon mac and cheese. Do this!
Amazing meal, and the whiskey was out of this world. Service was phenomenal. Will definitely be back
I did NOT receive 100 points for the Iron Room, as well as for some other past dinners. I’m T 3800 points for about 2 months. iron room is run poorly and overpriced. Will not return
Creative cocktails, decent beer selection, and delicious food. One of our favorite spots in AC!
Off the beaten path yet worth the visit...
A good experience all around!!!👍🏻
My boyfriend and I came for a tasting menu dinner as part of my birthday celebrations. Food and wine were great, but there were a few things that really lowered our experience. When entering, the bar is immediately to the left, and someone from the restaurant was doing paperwork at the first bar stool, his work spread out on the bar. It’s a total downer on the whole “speakeasy” feel, and mood in general. I’ve never seen something like that at a restaurant... Once seated, we waited. And waited... and waited... it was a full 15-20 minutes before our server greeted us with water. That’s really unacceptable, and we probably should have left at that point. When he finally came with water, he said he’d be back for our orders. So we waited... and waited... you get the idea. We ordered wine and dinner, waited at least 10 minutes for our wine. Once the courses for the tasting menu got rolling, dinner moved a bit quicker, but we were so delayed that we had to cancel further plans that evening. We certainly weren’t looking to eat and run, but this was way past acceptable pacing. Granted, our server was very nice and knew the menu well, but that just can’t make up for it. Food was very, very good- but frankly, it’s all overshadowed by how frustrated we were with service.
Excellent find. Passed this place for 4 years and thought it was a dive. REALLY SURPRISED, beautiful inside and the food was excellent . Great service and knowledgeable staff. Very very pleased. Will be back. If you go make sure you make a reservation as it is on the small side.
We had the 4 course menu which allowed us to taste a wide variety. We also enjoyed the cocktails. The standouts for me were the Udon Mac n Cheese and the Flourless Chocolate Cake. My husband enjoyed the maple bacon and the bread pudding as well. We would come back.
We were very excited about our second trip to the Iron Room. Unfortunately we were disappointed. The food quality was good but it was the value that was disappointing. It was just my wife and I and we decided to get two small plates and two large plates. One small plate was the pierogis. They were delicious so no complaint. The other was the octopus which was also tasty but was very skimpy with just two tentacles. Not worth the money! The two large plates were the black salmon and the scallops. The scallops were the shocker - $34 for four medium sized scallops! Overall we had two drinks each and the food and after tip our total bill was $205. There are so many better options on Absecon Island in this price range. Disappointed!
Delicious, make sure you order the mac and cheese !!!!!
Very good food. Great service. One large noisy table killed the room. People were screaming from one end of the table to the other. The large table is set amongst two tops. Poor layout. Not enjoyable.
Love the remodel and new menu.
Enjoyed the variety and quality of the dishes.
