I go here often. The combination of being a cozy upscale place, convenient for both Maryland and Virginia folks, and easy parking make it a winner. Food is always good. Several cuts above average. Drinks are generous and prices are fair. Atmosphere is unique due to being in a historic inn.

I really love this Inn. Once can actually converse with one's table companions without shouting and the food is delicious. If I'm earlier than those I'm meeting, I enjoy a drink in the very-comfortable bar.

Met with friends from out of town and was worth the hour long drive across the American Legion bridge - cozy, delicious fare, wonderful wine list and exceptional wait staff. Highly recommend

The Irish Inn has become my go-to restaurant whenever I meet friends who live in DC, MD and VA. It's simply perfect, with the nicest owners and staff. I think it's the next best things to being in Ireland.

It was Thanksgiving... and I dont think i’ve ever had great traditional T’giving fare in a restaurant, but it was more about the ambiance and lots of families having a good time. You didn’t have to order turkey! A fun time!

We had a fantastic Thanksgiving dinner at the Irish Inn--AS ALWAYS! It's been a number of years now that we've made the Irish Inn our go-to place for special events and holidays. Thanksgiving dinner there is the traditional meal with all the trimmings, done the way you only dreamed that you or Mom could. And no dishes! There were some other truly delicious-sounding entrees, but we're turkey traditionalists. The service was outstanding. We were treated like royalty, special attention, not a thing wrong. The whole place is like coming home to 'family' for us, so many years of regular meals at the Inn have we had. It is always a warm welcome, wonderful food, terrific service--we leave feeling full, cheerful, delighted by our experience. And we're not alone; many family groups around us have expressed to us the same feelings. The Irish Inn has very devoted clientele. And rightly so!

This was a "friends get-together" - location convenient to Virginia and to Maryland and NW DC. We like the service. For a quiet table, the upstairs is hard to beat. Food was OK but not great. Three of us had the Maryland crab cake. This one was long on cake and short on crab. Although, admittedly, we are spoiled by absolutely fantastic crab cake offerings at Dutch's Daughter in Frederick and at the Cosmos Club of Washington. My advice to the restaurant: you should at least double the amount of crab meat you put in this dish. That will depress the "other" (cake) from 80% to 60%. Yes, it will cost more. But it will be well worth it!

Service was so-so. Had different waiters mid-meal, with no introduction or reason why and food was served somewhat gruffly and pretty much plopped down in front of us.

Sat upstairs and table was cramped with one next to it. Back of chairs almost touched. Slid table over and back further to create a bit more room.

Would go back because a neat place, close to home, and I like the menu, but probably not a 3d time if the service is the same.

The food was excellent, as was the service. The draft beer was very good as well. The Ruebens were outstanding - the corned beef was great. I had the walnut crusted cod, which was good, and it came with a Greek salad, which was probably the best salad I've had in a long time! The only improvement I could suggest involves the creme brûlée we had for dessert. I thought the added lemon and vanilla flavor was overpowering and unnecessary. A traditional creme brûlée would be better.

We usually like the food at the Inn but our experience lately has been somewhat disappointing. I had the crab cakes and they were cold and stale. Seemed like they were reheated in a microwave after sitting around a few days. They were dry and tasteless, not at all like the jumbo lump meat crab cakes typical of Maryland. My husband's pot pie, usually a favorite, also seemed duller than usual. Our friends' amber jack dish was better, but then, it was the favorite recommended dish that day. Hope you get back to the old menu and more fresh food soon.

The Irish Inn has a great outdoor dining area. When the weather is pleasant, it's an excellent place to have a drink and a sandwich or salad. When it comes to entrees, choose carefully. My wife got a rack of lamb. The presentation was fine, but part of it was raw, not medium rare. That eventually was corrected, but the meat was pretty tasteless. I got walnut crusted cod fillet. Sounded good. It wasn't bad enough to send back. The portion was quite generous. Unfortunately, the fish was between tough and solid, not flaky. It also didn't have much flavor. The Greek salad that was the side made the fish palatable. I'm a big eater, yet I left half my portion

We've often dined here over quite a few years. We want the Irish Inn to continue to thrive. I suggest diners select more standard fare--fish and chips, burgers, shepherds pie, lamb chops, and the entree salads. It's a good place if you follow our guidance.

We had our anniversary dinner at The Irish Inn. They gave us complimentary champagne to start our evening, and let us move to our "special" table when it opened. They were very kind to let us have a very long and relaxed dinner. No pressure to move along. Good food, and great service.
