It is closed!!! Boarded up. Don't bother going there. We were not the only people standing outside the restaurant looking confused.

Went on a rainy evening, but worth the drive. Unique ambience , especially for the area-music was fun- food good, but not great. Poured a good glass of wine.

The food was as good as I remember it, but the service was horrible. No refills on water, we had to wait so long for our check I had to hunt down our server to get it. He apologized saying he had a big table. Note to management: if someone isn't capable of handling a big party and his other tables, don't give him those other tables.

We were very disappointed with our visit. We have eaten there before and the items we enjoyed were no longer on the menu. No one in our group of 4 people liked their food. We will not come again.

The Irish House is a great spot for grabbing an awesome bite to eat or a pint. Their Happy Hour is one of, if not the best in the city. All beer, wine, and well drinks are 50%, and most drafts are 20oz pours. The owner and chef is "Chopped" Champion Matt Murphy. This is a true Irish Pub, with an amazing range of different foods.

Food was decent, not great, service was good, little slow. I've been wanting to try this place since I've seen it. Wasn't all that spectacular.

Let me start off that I normally live this restaurant. Service was poor, waiter forgot items and took a long time. The food was even worse. I ordered a piece of fried chicken for my daughter from the kids menu. It was so overcooked it was dry and they forgot the veggies. All that for $11. Then I ordered the Bangers and mash.. 4 ingredients. Irish sausage, mashed potatoes and rich brown gravt and crispy onion rings. They forgot the gravy. How do you forget that. The restaurant was not that busy but chaos seemed to prevail. I hope this is not a sign of where this restaurant is going.

Walked in the door and was immediately greeted by the feel of an Irish public house, except brighter. Loved it the moment we walked in, but then again, we love Irish restaurants. The food was spot on, the music was enjoyable, and the service was great. This is one of the places to eat outside the French Quarter if you are trying to avoid all the tourist crowds, and want a great meal.

The Shephard pie was spot on and the sticky toffee pudding is magical. Mostly based on anecdotal evidence because my daughter decided it was her's, and I only got two small bites.

Will definitely return.

Had a brunch that wasn't on the menu and it was awesome. Start out with the Irish coffee, you will be delighted. The plate came with an omelet with brie cheese inside and on top. On the side was a beautiful biscuit and home fried potatoes with hollandaise sauce on top. Lots to eat, you won't go away hungry.

Sheperd's pie was amazing! Lamb fricasse was just fair. Kinda gamey. Decor was appropriate and fun. Musicians set list was good. Entertaining and casual overall.

I love the open pub atmosphere here! The food has been very lackluster the last couple times I've dined here. Shepherd's Pie was dried out and crusty, and the fish and chips were heavy with grease. Our waitress was very sweet, but service was very slow even though the place was almost empty and we were there in the mid afternoon, a typically slow period for restaurants. I'd come back to get a drink at the bar, but that's it.

Chef Matt is great, but he's been in Ireland for a while due to a sick family member. We went on March 18, the day after St. Patrick's Day. There had been a number of call-ins from sick workers, so the food took over an hour to get to our party of 7.

But the food was as good as usual.

Waited for over an hour after being seated. We expected a delay as it was St. Patrick's Day however once we sat down and we waited but then to only have five menu options and none for people who don't eat meat they served small portions on plastic plates like picnic plates. Nothing St. Pats going on at an IRISH RESTAURANT. Poor showing!

Open Table screwed up and took reservations on St. Patrick's Day. Only day the restaurant didn't take reservations, LOL.
Waited an hour for a table for 8 to only have their limited holidays menu to choose from. Big disappointment.

Arrived during St. Patrick's week and had a limited menu. Would have liked to known this before I made reservations. For the price it also would have been nice to have real mashed potatoes with the bangers and mash instead of half and half.

Best Irish restaurant in town, so had to go here for a St. Patrick's dinner. We weren't disappointed. Service got a little slow at the end of the meal once the restaurant was full, but other than that everything was great.

Our krewe gathers once a month at the Irish House. The ambiance can't be beat- where else can you listen to bagpipers and get a well-poured pint?! We tried Trivia and the moderator was entertaining and engaging- and we won enough for a couple more pints!

I'm sad to see that I have to write this review. I hope Chef Matt is paying attention. The Irish House was needed in New Orleans and it was great in the beginning. Over the past few years we have seen quality of food and service drop on a steady pace, but still had reason to go for a ceili or other "irish" events. Truth is that we (2 adults, 3 kids) never even spoke with an actual, face-to-face person on Saturday. The hostess stand was abandoned and we waited 15 minutes before calling the Irish House (from the hostess stand) and asking them to cancel the reservation so we could book something else. [This was a celebratory dinner at 7:30 Saturday night] Whoever answered the phone apologized and said that she would cancel. Didn't cancel, limiting our options. I'm still upset that they advertised a ceili and didn't even come close to pulling off a decent meal, let alone music. Really sad for Irish fans in NOLA, I'm sure a few tourists were disappointed as well. At least one couple ended up at the same place we went after.
