Was a “specialty” menu when we visit so it’s hard to know this review would be the same had we gotten the menu we viewed online prior to visit. It was there “Portugal menu” and the chicken seemed crockpot’ish and the shrimp was swimming in some bland underwhelming sauce. After dinner we ordered a pineapple dessert and when it arrived it was most definitely canned . There was no drink menu to speak of. The owners and the view were the most pleasant and enjoyable part of the entire experience. Was very disappointing since we drove from Nassau on a beautiful Saturday to check it out.
Always an interesting menu, simple interesting preparations of local fish, vegetable.
Great service and warm welcome. Waterfront .
Never fails to please..
Always have a great meal with great service... Thanks!!
Excellent hospitality and delightful food. Was a fun night of specialty tastings. Highly recommended for their special occasion nights and menus. Views were awesome, can't wait to try again in the summer!
Unfortunately the restaurant has ups and downs. Half the time the food it quite enjoyable and half the time not so much.
Wonderful Christmas dinner and lovely vegetarian and gluten free options! Can't wait to come back for brunch!
Beautiful old inn. Food and service impeccable. Gem of a place.
Absolutely wonderful restaurant!
Perfect service!
Perfect food!
Perfect atmosphere!
My wife and I had a very nice dinner here. The Cheffe came to the table and spoke with us which was nice. The staff were all friendly. It's a converted house and holds the charm.
Love this little gem and their waitress Lucy is a gem too!
Always great food and great service., been eating here for years and I never disappoints. Collette always has something different and special on the menu.
There's a real culinary intelligence at work here. Creative cooking at its best.
the food was outstanding and the servers really know what they are doing
We were feted beautifully on a cool, but lovely summer evening and ate out under the wrap around terrace with a water view. Had a delicious dinner with excellent service.
Excellent as always. Continues to be one of our favorite places.
The view was lovely, but we waited a long time for everything, and the food was mediocre to bad and overpriced.
A hidden gem. Food, service and location fabulous.
Beautiful outdoor table. Everyone enjoyed their meal. Fun time in the bar area. Great bar tender and friendly neighborhood atmosphere.
Comfortable, delicious and welcoming!
Every year I celebrate myself for a weekend. And I'm so happy to find this cute little place in the Hampton Bays 😋💞 Everyone was a delight to meet. THANK YOU Cheffe 😉
I'll see you next year!
I'm in Italian living in NYC and I'm typically very hard to please. My experience in this restaurant was exceptional from all points of view, starting from the welcoming, the service, the chat with the chef and finally the food. I had calamari (lightly fried, fresh, just perfect) and the tuna with wasabi sauce (I was blown away). The cherry on the cake was the home made ice cream. Kudos to all of you!
Very good food. The atmosphere is great!! Would good back in a heartbeat. The view so beautiful.
Truly a wonderful Spot! . This is a unique and charming location on Shinnecock Bay, with a beautiful view. While the food at many waterfront restaurants with outdoor dining can be hit or miss, this one is simply a hit, with creative and delicious fare that is worthy of the location. Chef Colette and her team are exceptionally helpful and welcoming, which only adds to the experience.
Want to have a "favorite" restaurant near our home. This place started out to be just that. It is bayfront, with Adirondack chairs at the water's edge...we were actually able to have our wine served to us out there. Great waitress! We went inside for dinner, but still had a great waterview. Lovely ambience. The menu is interesting and accommodating to various tastes. My appetizer was crab bisque...great tasting, but strange texture. My husband had lobster chunks marinated in Irish whiskey. Yum. But TINY portion. He would have been OK with some bread to sop up the delicious broth. Instead there was another TINY item served with it...basically one bite of bread. The "bread" served for the table was actually a crisp of some sort. Good, but not for sopping up sauce! Entrees were again "mixed reviews". I had duck with a duck jus and marshmallow. Odd...but fun and pretty good. Hubby had curried shrimp on rice. The sauce was spicy...he loved that! But the shrimp were an issue. They tasted like chlorine. We weren't aware at the time, but have researched that issue. It could indicate that the shrimp went past their prime. (Either the flavor was iodine...which indicates the shrimp were turning, or chlorine, which indicates that the kitchen was trying to save the shrimp from turning. Either way, not good.) We get that not everyone loves everything they order, so we were still talking about coming back. The worst moment came when we got the check. Yikes! Granted that we had 6 glasses of wine between us (Anniversary Dinner!!), but with tip, our bill came to $210. A bit much for our Tuesday night dinner, no fancy cocktails or high end entrees. We had seen the menu prices, but didn't actually tally them up as we went along. Overall, we would plan to go back, had we not been socked with that bill...about $50 more than we expected...the "going rate" out in this area. Other restaurants were doing good business that night. Here, we, and one other table were IT. Offer a Prix Fixe?
Amazing spot. Food is secondary to location, but quite good. We had a nice relaxing breakfast.
My wife and I are regular diners at the Inn Spot and there are several reasons for this; the quality of the food, the fresh, high quality ingredients that are used, and the presentation of each dish are all first rate - fine dining at its best in a warm and cozy dining room overlooking beautiful Shinnecock Bay with its magnificent sun sets and panoramic views of the bay and dune lined beach road as background. The Inn Spot's friendly, attentive, and professional staff also serve to enhance the dining experience. The Inn's meticulously landscaped grounds for having a pre-dinner drink while sitting in the comfortable Adirondack chairs overlooking the bay.
This is a great find. The chefs are amazing and always coming up with new and great dishes! The service is great and friendly! In the winter months, they keep you interested with great international menus every weekend! We love this place!
The Inn Spot on the Bay is always an excellent choice for special dining. The food is always excellent, the service is personal and receptive to are every need. For the winter, the Inn Spot is featuring the cuisine of a different country each weekend. Those we sampled were enjoyable and always interesting. The only difficulty is deciding which to choose among the offerings.
The main view is Shinnecock Bay through the large windows, always a relaxing background for dinner.
The Inn Spot is always a delight.
Pleasant place to go, always keeping the menu creative, and they offer special events if you look at their website.
They did not turn on the heat until we complained. Then the waitress had an attitude. We had a hospice coupon for 1 free entree which usually is $28 for east end resturants. On this night it was Turkey Country's around the world night, 3 courses $38 so they would only give us a $15 credit for our coupon. I should have walked out then. Limited menu and when my food came it was cold . There was only 1 other table at the time we were dinning. Disappointed. Will never go back, and will be sure to tell our friends not to go.
Wonderful dining experience, excellent food, and love the around the world dining in the winter.
Great place. Good value. Delicious food
Our dining experience was so enjoyable. The entire staff is professional and want to make your evening out memorable. The drinks from the bar were crafted to perfection. The food was so creative and the chef KNOWS food and combinations. Can't wait for the warmer weather and longer days so we can take in the fabulous view.
Great food, great atmosphere, great service. We will be back!
Unique menu! Nice people! Most time Chef and owner comes to your table!
Totally unique and thoroughly enjoyable!
Inn Spot came highly recommended for its good food and spectacular view. Food was ok, sunset view was breathtaking. It is a lovely old Inn with indoor and outdoor verandah seating. Drinks were very good, service was friendly, even entertaining. Fresh oysters and crab corn chowder were excellent appetizers. Menu isn't vast, but the crustacean pot pie and Thai-spiced tilefish were good, if not great. Instead of bread, they serve a tapioca-based thin pancake with a spicy dipping sauce. Regular bread is not an option. The place was not crowded on a Friday night of Labor Day weekend, but by 8:30, ice cream as a dresser was off the menu. We will try it again before we bring guests. Total bill was $150 including two cocktails, two glasses of wine and two coffees.
Restaurant has a terrific location on the Bay with beautiful sunset views. So I was a little surprised that I could get a 7:45pm seating (sunset 8:14) for Saturday on the Wednesday before. Now I know why. Ordered Long Island Duck and Lobster Pot pie. Both dishes arrived within 7 minutes, seemed awful quick for such gourmet dishes. Duck was dry and luke warm at best, pot pie was cold, not warm, but cold. My teenage son ate half of it before he said something. Thought it was some kind of gourmet cold dish. Duck could have been a home run if it hadn't been cooked earlier and barely warmed. I'm willing to bet the duck was room temp and the sauce was the only thing that was hot. Very disappointed, especially at these $$ prices.
Very enjoyable experience. Seafood was fresh and the oysters were exceptional. Beautiful view of the bay.
We sat out on the porch overlooking the breathtaking bay at sunset- couldn't be more beautiful!
Great view
Perfect for cocktails at sunset
