The Inn at Erlowest
Effective on March 20, 2020 the Governor of NY along with other states placed a restriction on non-essential services in consideration of the current health risks and concerns. The Inn at Erlowest is required to comply with those restrictions and as a result, we have closed the Inn and our restaurant for the time being.
We are hopeful that the health crisis improves quickly and would like to thank the guests who came to stay with us and enjoy in room dining at The Inn at Erlowest. Your support allowed us to have the Erlowest team working to support your visit.
We look forward to the other side of this crisis and the safe return of our guests and staff. We will periodically update our status as needed and look forward to seeing you soon.

Lake George Sunset Special
Enjoy Wine 2 for 1 while watching the sun set on Lake George and the Adirondack Mountains! Available Thursday to Monday!
Service always outstanding. We had the harvest bisque and mushroom risotto for appetizers. Both excellent. Mains were crispy chicken breast with baby potato and carrots. And roasted shrimp with polenta. All fabulous.
We had made a reservation 2 months in advance and showed up to a fixed menu (which is not what we would have wanted). The waitress was extremely polite and told us that we could pick items from the 6 course pre-fixed menu and she would price them out individually . That was super nice. From there, it just went downhill. My wife and I each ordered a sirloin medium and they arrived to us raw inside. They were refired but when they came back, my wife pulled a 5 inch hair off of hers. The restaurant manager was a trooper and didn’t charge us for our meal, but this is NOT what we were expecting. A real let down for a special date I had planned for my wife.
We apologize first for the disconnect on our menu option for your visit. We typically call and confirm reservations and that should have clarified our dinner plans for 2/16/20. The problems with your steak course cannot be excused as addressed by our restaurant manager, Aziz. On behalf of Chef Scott and Aziz, we would like to invite you back to allow us another chance to show you a typical experience with us at The Inn at Erlowest. Frank Dittrich, GM The Inn at Erlowest
Really fun Valentine dinner in an igloo!

Romantic and charming Valentine's Day Dinner at the Erlowest! Food and wine pairings were delightful! From the long stemmed rose on the table to the decadent chocolate dessert, the entire evening was magical!
Phenomenal stay. We thoroughly enjoyed our lovely and cozy room to the fantastic food. It’s our understanding a new chef started in early 2020. We had three meals during our stay at Erlowest, and the each were one of the best ever eaten. Will travel across NYS again to stay here, with the food bring one of the primary reasons.
Thank you for staying with us and dining with us during your stay. We are refocusing our restaurant that is a long standing 4-diamond experience with the addition of Chef Scott Dewar supported by restaurant manager Aziz Danguir. Thank you for planning to travel to see us again. Our spring menu will be introduced in April! Frank Dittrich, GM The Inn at Erlowest

We were guests of the inn; the service for the inn and restaurant were truly exceptional. Our waiter was knowledgeable and Superman-like as he dealt with 3 couples and a family. There was a wedding in the other room that really did not influence our dinner. However, the food seemed hastily prepared throughout. We started with a cold rectangle of chicken liver terrine accompanied by a mound of cold caramelized onions and mustard-drowned gherkins, and a beet salad that they seemed to have forgotten to dress. We enjoyed the tapenade on the table and the sweet brown bread rolls—except two of the rolls were toasted hard. Salmon was overdone—not terribly, but certainly not the quality I would have expected from the reviews I read—I ate the middle of the piece. Accompanying rapini was quite good, perhaps steamed, but the rice might have been from a mix. Venison sausage was tasty, duck confit was plain. While the pastry crust for the lemon tart was excellent, the custard was runny. Creme brûlée was not fresh. Unfortunately, the salmon was the only non-meat entree available—they did put together a bean a vegetable plate for another patron (again excellent service). Perhaps we just caught the kitchen on a tough night.
Thanksgiving selections were good.
Thank you for joining us for our Thanksgiving Dinner. We appreciate you taking the time to complete a review and hope to see you again soon. Menu changes are coming on Saturday! Frank Dittrich, GM The Inn at Erlowest

Late October, Saturday with a reservation for two at 6:15. A wonderful anniversary dinner. Great wine selection and a fantastic dinner menu. Quiet place to eat. No loud background music, only polite conversations by those in attendance. Great sized portions on the salad and soup. Not over the top on the main course. No room for dessert, though the options sounded great. We were not rushed out of our table and the wait staff was attentive but not intrusive. We plan on returning here for another dinner. There was a wedding party on the other side of the building, but you would never know it. Just a great place.
Thank you for letting use share in your anniversary celebration! We are very happy that you enjoyed the ambience that Erlowest offers. We look forward to seeing you again in the near future! Frank Dittrich, GM The Inn at Erlowest

A lovely find on Lake George. The view from the outdoor fireplace was fabulous. The wait staff were fun and on top of their game. We particularly enjoyed our wait staff, Molly.
The food from the Mushroom Agnolotti to the steak, chicken and lamb were all top quality ingredients and expertly prepared - the chicken was easily one of the best chicken entrees that I’ve had. The only ‘off’ dish was the butternut squash risotto, it did combine rice and squash but it didn’t possess the sheen, flavor or texture of a true risotto. The amuse was a delicious mixture of diced beet/pomegranate with dill, so good we had to try and replicate it at home.
Highly recommend this restaurant for a special evening.
Thank you for taking the time for such a detailed review of your dining experience with us! We hope that you will be able to come back and dine with us again!
Beautiful interiors in this late 1800's manor house turned Inn. Dining at the Inn at Erlowest is like dining with Downton Abbey. The food is exceptional. We had the harvest bisque, curry cauliflower creamless puree soup, jumbo lump crab with avocado parfait, sea scallops with ginger carrots and scallion rice, and the lamb cooked to perfection with roasted root vegetables. Save room for dessert. Creme brulee and lemon tart with raspberries were outstanding. Great wines by the glass as well as by the bottle. The service was friendly and professional. If you haven't eaten at Inn at Erlowest, you are missing out on a 5 - star experience.

Hands down the best dining experience I’ve ever experienced. Started off having a cocktail at the bar and sat at an outside table looking at the incredible view. Our waiter came over and informed us we can go to our table whenever we liked. We were seated immediately and the service was phenomenal. The food was the best dinner I’ve ever had. Went back outside to the fireplace for a drink afterwards and they brought out seat cushions just for us. Great experience. A night i will remember

We have been to the Erlowest several times. This time was not good. The menu was very limited. Two in ouir party had the short ribs - they were dry, the Broccolini hard, not el dente. I had rack of lamb which was excellent and another had the cod which he said was okay.
May be a new chief this year? I will have to think twice about going back.
Please accept our apologies for your recent experience at Erlowest. We should have noticed your issues and addressed them immediately at the table to your satisfaction. We are going through a restaurant transition that we are very excited about starting with our new restaurant manager Aziz Danguir who comes to us from Boston. We are equally excited about an upcoming change in our kitchen! I would like to invite you back to Erlowest to show you our real capabilities. Frank Dittrich, GM
