Two of our party had seafood and it was quite overdone, like bouncy. The pork chop, on the other hand, was perfectly done and delicious.
Hostess was well knowledgeable of the place and extremely pleasant
My wifw and I have enjoyed the Inn. We first became acquainted on our honey moon and have returned several times celebrating our anniversary.
The restaurant is absolutely beautiful and every last thing we ate was delicious. Impeccable dining experience experience.
When you arrive you are greeted by friendly staff and seated at a comfortable table, all with a view of a warm fire. Beautiful rooms and an amazing menu that makes it difficult to make your selections. The service is professional and friendly. We happened to be staying at the Inn when we dined but we will make the trip just for dinner. My wife and I strongly recommend this restaurant.
Thank you very much for the opportunity to take care of you and your wife during your stay with us at The Inn at Erlowest. We are very happy that you enjoyed both the room and dining experience. We hope that you will be able to come back soon to see us again! Frank Dittrich, GM The Inn at Erlowest
We enjoyed two very good dinners. Our second was the best, particularly the duck but our first dinner was still quite good.
Fabulous service friendly fast and the food absolutely amazing
Can’t wait to go back! If you are looking for an elegant, high-end B&B experience to get away from it all or celebrate a special occasion, The Inn at Erlowest is the place. From the decor, to the service, to the exquisite meals... the Erlowest aims to please and the prices are reasonable. A dinner like the one we had would have cost twice as much in NYC!

We greatly enjoyed our stay and dinners at The Inn at Erlowest. Everyone is always pleasant and make you feel at home. It has a fabulous ambiance, and beautiful views. The menu is incredible, and always changing. We always enjoy our meals in the gorgeous dining room. We also enjoy meeting the most interesting people while we are there, and have a grand time visiting while lounging in the bar before our meals. We look forward to returning again soon. Hopefully we will run into some of the same people once again.

Upon arrival we were politely greeted and took in the wonderful ambience. This location is stunning. We were there at night so we missed being able to see the view over the lake, which I believe is supposed to be mind blowing.
The service was wonderful (Karen was lovely), and attentive without being intrusive. The kitchen was very busy so Karen stopped by to apologize for the delay, but honestly we had not found there to be any delay!
The food was delicious and beautifully presented. We are the harvest bisque, NY Strip, Pork Tenderloin, and then for dessert shared a phenomenal chocolate cake.
Highly recommend this restaurant!
Everything was great
My wife and I went there on New Year’s Eve. Great way to end 2018 with great food and wine.
Amazing food and venue!
Very attentive service. Good food and good value. I recommend if near Lake George.
Magnificent castle-like building on the picturesque shore of Lake George. 11 suites compliment the 2 rooms where restaurant dining takes place.
Attention to detail sets the service apart. Fresh, local, seasonal foods are infused into thoughtfully designed menu selections. Top-notch creations demand kudos to the chef and kitchen team! And wine pairings are always suggested.
We recommend Erlowest!!
The Inn at Erlowest was a lovely venue for a special occasion holiday celebration with family! Beautifully decorated for the season and nestled perfectly on lake george. The food was good and cocktails well executed! We would visit again for a special night out.
The Inn was absolutely beautiful. We loved the history and location. The service was unmatchable. We will definitely make that our go to place when we can’t make it to Lake Placid.
Wonderful place. A little cool in the winter. But nicely warmed around the fire places
Thank you for dining with us! We will keep the fireplaces on for your next visit! Frank Dittrich, GM The Inn at Erlowest
We have been going to the Inn for 10 years now. We just celebrated our 10th anniversary and we couldn't be more pleased! It is always a nice time away. The rooms are gorgeous and always kept super clean. The food is beyond delicious and the staff are sweet and go above and beyond. Everyone should have the opportunity to experience the Inn at Erlowest.
The ambience, service and exquisite food was memorable!!
The ambiance was beautiful, elegant, traditional yet warm, romantic and even a little sexy (great, very relaxed jazz in the background set a great tone). Service was very friendly, polite and responsive. The food was expensive yet lacked flavor and was rather greasy-- a heavy sort of game food (all 4 entrees). It would have been great to have more flavorful options, perhaps some dishes with tasty sauces, and another fish and/or a pasta dish. Even my salad, while fresh and abundant, lacked flavor. It also seems to me that with such high pricing the wait staff should have a bit of familiarity with the wine list, so as to be able to make helpful suggestions. I hope they'll take these cuisine suggestions to heart, as the setting and ambiance are very special. I will say that the apple sangria and the bisque (either pumpkin or squash--can't remember) were phenomenal.
was promised recipe for xcellent bisque from waitress ,said chef would e-mail to us-----no response yet???
Impeccable service, creative and delicious dishes with wine pairing, and fantastic cocktails made this dinner perfect to celebrate our first wedding anniversary. Will definitely recommend to friends and come back
The Inn at Erlowest was amazing! Food was outstanding, and service was great! Greated at the door by friendly staff and our waitress Laina was great! She was very knowledgeable of the menu and made excellent recommendations! The experience was great and we highly recommend it for a special occasion or a romantic night out!
The scallops and the bisque we're incredible.
The Inn at Erlowest provided what was probably the nicest meal and dining experience I have ever had. As part of my reservation, I mentioned it was our anniversary, and the staff did an amazing job making my wife feel celebrated, valued and loved. They celebrated us in a way that was so very special, and did it just because it was an amazing restaurant. I've been raving about the restaurant to friends since.
The food is to die for! Chef is very creative with his dishes. Waitstaff is nothing less than spectacular! A great experience .
This is a lovely restaurant w a chef that knows how to prepare and present very good food...the staff was knowledgeable and very helpful...it made for a pleasant evening...I would certainly go back when I'm in the area.
Celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary. Loved everything!
The Harvest Bisque is the simply amazing! A must try.
Great food and pleasant setting!
The whole experience was amazing. We were promptly served and the food was yummy.
It was our first time dining at the inn. Due to the heat we decided to dine indoors and forsake the stunning view from the patio. We were delighted with the decor of the dining room. The service was friendly and attentive without being over-bearing. The menu is short, but the variety was such that we found making a dinner choice was a happy problem to have.
We all found the food delicious, presentation was impeccable and portions were generous. In short, we have found a new favorite Lake George restaurant.
The view and food were amazing! It’s a bit pricey but worth it! The ambiance, service and food are the best in Lake George.
Our planned Anniversary dinner was mangled by the staff who were scarce and overwhelmed by a catered affair being held. Though reserved we waited easily >30 minutes without explanation before finally being seated. Then we were basically ignored for another 30 minutes. We were made to feel unimportant and like an imposition. And, despite the manager clearly being fully aware of our surprise and dissatisfaction, no service recovery was undertaken. We will not return.
This is a beautiful, scenic venue with outstanding food and service. We truly can't wait to return to the Inn.
We celebrated our fifthieth anniversary with cocktails and dinner at the inn. Everything was perfect.
My wife and I enjoyed our visit. I had the swordfish and it was delicious. The suggested wine pairing on the menu next to each food item was a nice touch and they went well with what we were eating. Service was great too.
With a practically empty restaurant we were seated in a room with a great view of the parking lot. Others seemed to be dining on the 'porch' with wonderful views but it wasn't offered as an option and we followed the host back to our empty room in the back. Other rooms we passed had more ambiance but for some reason we got put in the back near the parking lot. One of the reasons we chose this restaurant was for the view but we didn't get it and staff didn't seem all that interested in making our experience anything memorable. Food was very good but service was average as if staff was eager to call it a night. If you go, request a table with a view and go when there's some life in the place (assuming it does perk up sometime).
My Husband went there for dinner this past Saturday night. Cocktails on the patio with beautiful views can not be beat. On to dinner, a very nice treat from the chef of a single shrimp served superbly done. Then a very nice field of greens salad followed by perfectly cooked medium rare rack of lamb with creamy polenta and egg plant. My Husband had the prawns and also the lamb. He was not disappointed. A nice bottle of red do wishes off our meal. Too bad the espresso machine was down, oddly enough same thing happened last time we were there. But we didn't skip dessert. The Apple pie with a scoop of vanilla ice cream hit the spot. And a glass of port substituted for the coffee for me. Let me not forget the excellent service and well timed meal presentations. In a village with such run of the mill food and horrendous service most of the time, this was like a breath of fresh air.
A little pricey, but after all if you are venturing to dine there then you shouldn't be surprised. Bottom line, glad we returned.
