The Inn was absolutely beautiful. We loved the history and location. The service was unmatchable. We will definitely make that our go to place when we can’t make it to Lake Placid.
Wonderful place. A little cool in the winter. But nicely warmed around the fire places
We have been going to the Inn for 10 years now. We just celebrated our 10th anniversary and we couldn't be more pleased! It is always a nice time away. The rooms are gorgeous and always kept super clean. The food is beyond delicious and the staff are sweet and go above and beyond. Everyone should have the opportunity to experience the Inn at Erlowest.
The ambience, service and exquisite food was memorable!!
The ambiance was beautiful, elegant, traditional yet warm, romantic and even a little sexy (great, very relaxed jazz in the background set a great tone). Service was very friendly, polite and responsive. The food was expensive yet lacked flavor and was rather greasy-- a heavy sort of game food (all 4 entrees). It would have been great to have more flavorful options, perhaps some dishes with tasty sauces, and another fish and/or a pasta dish. Even my salad, while fresh and abundant, lacked flavor. It also seems to me that with such high pricing the wait staff should have a bit of familiarity with the wine list, so as to be able to make helpful suggestions. I hope they'll take these cuisine suggestions to heart, as the setting and ambiance are very special. I will say that the apple sangria and the bisque (either pumpkin or squash--can't remember) were phenomenal.
was promised recipe for xcellent bisque from waitress ,said chef would e-mail to us-----no response yet???
Impeccable service, creative and delicious dishes with wine pairing, and fantastic cocktails made this dinner perfect to celebrate our first wedding anniversary. Will definitely recommend to friends and come back
The Inn at Erlowest was amazing! Food was outstanding, and service was great! Greated at the door by friendly staff and our waitress Laina was great! She was very knowledgeable of the menu and made excellent recommendations! The experience was great and we highly recommend it for a special occasion or a romantic night out!
The scallops and the bisque we're incredible.
The Inn at Erlowest provided what was probably the nicest meal and dining experience I have ever had. As part of my reservation, I mentioned it was our anniversary, and the staff did an amazing job making my wife feel celebrated, valued and loved. They celebrated us in a way that was so very special, and did it just because it was an amazing restaurant. I've been raving about the restaurant to friends since.
The food is to die for! Chef is very creative with his dishes. Waitstaff is nothing less than spectacular! A great experience .
This is a lovely restaurant w a chef that knows how to prepare and present very good food...the staff was knowledgeable and very helpful...it made for a pleasant evening...I would certainly go back when I'm in the area.
Celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary. Loved everything!
The Harvest Bisque is the simply amazing! A must try.
The whole experience was amazing. We were promptly served and the food was yummy.
It was our first time dining at the inn. Due to the heat we decided to dine indoors and forsake the stunning view from the patio. We were delighted with the decor of the dining room. The service was friendly and attentive without being over-bearing. The menu is short, but the variety was such that we found making a dinner choice was a happy problem to have.
We all found the food delicious, presentation was impeccable and portions were generous. In short, we have found a new favorite Lake George restaurant.
The view and food were amazing! It’s a bit pricey but worth it! The ambiance, service and food are the best in Lake George.
Our planned Anniversary dinner was mangled by the staff who were scarce and overwhelmed by a catered affair being held. Though reserved we waited easily >30 minutes without explanation before finally being seated. Then we were basically ignored for another 30 minutes. We were made to feel unimportant and like an imposition. And, despite the manager clearly being fully aware of our surprise and dissatisfaction, no service recovery was undertaken. We will not return.
This is a beautiful, scenic venue with outstanding food and service. We truly can't wait to return to the Inn.
We celebrated our fifthieth anniversary with cocktails and dinner at the inn. Everything was perfect.
My wife and I enjoyed our visit. I had the swordfish and it was delicious. The suggested wine pairing on the menu next to each food item was a nice touch and they went well with what we were eating. Service was great too.
With a practically empty restaurant we were seated in a room with a great view of the parking lot. Others seemed to be dining on the 'porch' with wonderful views but it wasn't offered as an option and we followed the host back to our empty room in the back. Other rooms we passed had more ambiance but for some reason we got put in the back near the parking lot. One of the reasons we chose this restaurant was for the view but we didn't get it and staff didn't seem all that interested in making our experience anything memorable. Food was very good but service was average as if staff was eager to call it a night. If you go, request a table with a view and go when there's some life in the place (assuming it does perk up sometime).
My Husband went there for dinner this past Saturday night. Cocktails on the patio with beautiful views can not be beat. On to dinner, a very nice treat from the chef of a single shrimp served superbly done. Then a very nice field of greens salad followed by perfectly cooked medium rare rack of lamb with creamy polenta and egg plant. My Husband had the prawns and also the lamb. He was not disappointed. A nice bottle of red do wishes off our meal. Too bad the espresso machine was down, oddly enough same thing happened last time we were there. But we didn't skip dessert. The Apple pie with a scoop of vanilla ice cream hit the spot. And a glass of port substituted for the coffee for me. Let me not forget the excellent service and well timed meal presentations. In a village with such run of the mill food and horrendous service most of the time, this was like a breath of fresh air.
A little pricey, but after all if you are venturing to dine there then you shouldn't be surprised. Bottom line, glad we returned.
Outstanding. By far the best overall dining experience in the lake George area. The service was impeccable. The setting beautiful. Every bite delicious.
Excellent service. Our waitress, Addison, was lovely. Efficient without being intrusive. Food was fresh, well prepared and beautifully presented, not to mention delicious! Loved the atmosphere of the dining rooms, all around a lovely birthday dinner with my husband.
Beautiful view! The food and service was excellent. The venue was quiet and comfortable.
Evening fire on the patio was perfect!
We throughly enjoyed our meal at Erlowest. The food was creative and fresh. It is a lovely place and the service was outstanding. It is not inexpensive but work every dime.
We celebrated our 2 year anniversary here, the evening was nothing short of amazing. From the food to the service everything is 5 stars.
Had a great experience. Hope to visit again in the future.
Excellent food and service. Wish there was background music as there wasn't any. Was there on a quiet night and since there were very few other patrons, background music (classical would fit the venue best) made it seem empty at times. Felt the desserts were a bit lower scale than the appetizers, entries and wines.
Overall, excellent fine dining experience with the few minor items above.
A spectacular setting with an excellent menu, wine and, especially, service!
Easter dinner was fantastic! Would go back again. Nice menu and well prepared.
We had a delicious meal great wine and the people that work there are just so kind. I would recommend this for anyone. So romantic in the room with the fireplace.
My meal was outstanding was the beef cubes my date wasn't so pleased it was not hot and meal didn't amount to much fir a dinner pasta dish overall we enjoyed the bar before dinner and the place itself.
Beautiful building, overdue for some updating. The service was friendly and solicitous, but the food was extremely problematic. Truly one of the worst meals I’ve ever had. The Valentine’s Day prix fixe menu, at $100 per person (not including drinks) was a huge splurge for us, and we were pretty sad to lose that much money on a meal that we could not enjoy. The presentations were attractive, but the flavors ranged from severely bland, to shockingly discordant. After five (Plus) courses and nearly three hours, we were both still hungry.
Food was excellent - little on the pricey side however and the service was okay. I would return again ... it is a beautiful setting.
The place was beautiful and the server was nice. However, the nice ambiance was ruined by the nosie level from the kitchen, it sounded like the staff was having a party in there.
My salad greens had not been washed and there was so much sand in them, they were inedible.
Both of our fish dishes arrived cold, waaaayyy overcooked and dry, and very bland.
Service was very slow and it was not a busy night.
What a disappointment our meal was!
I will forego a full blown review but suffice it to say that the service was a bit green. Our initial appetizer which was a delicious soup, was served with a teaspoon. Our steaks were delivered and I had to ask for steak knives. My wife’s tenderloin medallions were served well done when they were ordered medium rare. So we asked for a new one and they were served to her well done. We didn’t see any leadership in this 5 diamond restaurant and the server was the one to have apologize. So while we were excited to finally get up there, we will spend our money elsewhere.
We went for the special tasting menu on New Years Eve and everything was fantastic. The ambiance, the food and wine, and service was all first rate. We have been here in the summer months too and the Inn's location on Lake George in the warmer months only adds to the enjoyment.
First time back in quite some time. Menu, full of local choices was excellent. Service was attentive and wine list superb. We will be back!
