The Inn at Brookeville Farms Ratings and Reviews
Evrything is excellent, that day I saw family of four, gentleman wore short, but it is okay, but he should wear suitable with atmosphere and respect. It will be nice to decorate table cloth, and some flower at table, at least carnation, one rose to create some romantic and classic. I am not realize until I saw photo which I took, it is very plain, white table cloth, nothing just my food plate and fork, spoon and one glass of water.
Thank you, will be back
My husband and I attended a large anniversary party here last month so I decided to take him back to The Inn for his birthday. The service was very good. I was a little disappointed with the lack of fish offered but I enjoyed splitting my Ceasar salad, had a crab cake and the mushroom leek tart. We were too full for dessert but the waiter brought some delicious raspberry sorbet with fresh berries. The food was ll delicious!
My friend and I meet here for lunch a couple of times a year. We come from opposite directions. This is our favorite place to meet. Lunch is very quiet as few people were there and some of the selections were not available. Never the less the food was excellent, and we stayed long afterwards to talk and our waiter seemed okay with it. We hope lunch will continue to be offered.
The food was good and the service was very attentive. We were a party of 8 and were very disappointed that when we asked for more of the rolls which we had received earlier, we were told there weren't anymore. It appears that they might have been considered specialty rolls and will not give seconds for those. They did bring very generic dinner rolls which were not eaten and therefore wasted. For a restaurant of this calliber, the change over to the plain rolls was not appreciated and very disappointing.
I brought my mother for a special dinner. It was our first time at the Inn and we were really looking forward to our meal. The menu and wine list are terrific, the setting is lovely but the service - at least on the night we visited - was slapdash - literally. Our entrees arrived with a clang. The appetitizer of Amercian farm cheeses - while delicious - was dropped on the table by a sprinting waiter who was gone before we could ask which cheese was what. No wonder both bread plates had large chips on the rim. The restaurant did not appear to be busy. Disappointing given the expense and a great example of how service improves - or spoils - a meal.
Great for event dining; intimate nooks and rooms available w/old inn ambiance. Service responsive, we did not feel rushed; responses indicate complete familiarity w/menu items. Steak prepared as requested w/unique sauce; crab cake(s) filled w/crab and sauced pleasantly.
Took mom for an early Mother's day brunch...food and service really great. Only real drawback was the music from the wedding reception in the back room was quite loud in the front room where we were seated. There was soft recorded jazz (perfect for brunch) playing over the speakers in our seating area, but sadly we couldn't hear it once the wedding party got going. If there were some way to dampen the sound from the other room, that would be great. Otherwise, a terrific visit, will be back!
We haven't been to the Inn for some time. Was hit or miss. Glad we took another chance for my wife's birthday. It was a Wednesday night - so the place was not busy, quiet and we got a nice table by the window for a beautiful sunset .The waiter was attentive and the good was really good.
The occasion was a birthday. The wine we chose was excellent. A hot biscuit flavored with sun dried tomato onion and garlic, with butter was brought quickly. Our salads were very fresh and nicely put together. Very generous portions. She chose the halibut special which came with large lumps of crab meat and asparagus and fingerling potatoes. She found it excellent. I had the filet mignon, with polenta. I was delighted as well. My steak was cooked perfectly. We felt we couldn't pass up a dessert, so again, we chose differently. She had the creme brullee, with fresh berries and I had the Jamaican Toto Cake with Toasted Coconut Ice Cream, Salted Caramel Sauce, Coconut Tuile. Out of this world! Very special birthday dinner!
Valentine's Dinner w/set menu, which was not on website. I had requested a downstairs table, but they sat us upstairs in a small room crammed with tables and despondent-looking guests. My seat was literally in the doorway to the room. I had them move us downstairs. Food was poor to mediocre. Crabmeat appetizer was bland and uninspiring. The filet was charred on outside, not enough temperature inside. Virtually tasteless. Dessert was a gloppy mess in a cup. Looked like my 5 year old made it. We will not be returning - too expensive, tasteless food with uninspired presentation in a shabby atmosphere. Sorry.
An absolutely dismal experience. Unbelievable.
After forgetting us in the bar for over an hour, we finally get a table.
I wait patiently, but the roses I ordered, AND called to double check and was informed "no problem", never arrived. If it was a mistake, fine, but their attitude was "who did you speak to? We don't do that"....very frustrating given I would have made other arrangements for flowers if I had been told they can't when I called....
What else? Never brought us bread. Manager never came by to make sure all was well. No offer of coffee after the meal.
Ok...it was Valentine's day....so should I be more understanding? At $170 total bill....too bad this nice ambiance plays isn't being run by someone that cares!!
need to coordinate between waiters/waitresses and servers-- we were left without silverware twice, a promise of bread, no pouring of champagne on ice (a bit drippy for dress clothes), no s&p on table. Had to get our own silverware once. Very polite & helpful after that, but only offer of an additional glass of champagne to compensate (nothing taken off bill, and we didn't need more to drink).
