Very good service. Food was good. The highlight was the flank steak. Very good. This brunch is a good value.
It was just okay.
Our waitress was wonderful. The food gets better every time. They’ve been doing a lot of changes with the hotel, restaurant and the menu. My only complaint is that the portions were smaller than they used to be.
Service was great. One dish (duck) was exceptional. The halibut was okay, nothing special. There was a huge, loud party when we were there so that kind of ruined it for our romantic night out. They were distracting and very drunk. They've redone the interior and it's tasteful. Okay for a hotel I guess but I wouldn't make a special effort to return.
We had Sunday brunch on April 29, 2018. While most of the food (eggs Benedict, sausage, bacon, smoked salmon, etc.) tasted decently comparable to other nice brunch places, the desserts (donuts, chocolate cakes, bread pudding) were above average. The service was also above average in smiles and attentiveness and the brunch layout is also quite nice. We would probably return in the future.
First outing with our newborn!
Food was good; service was excellent. My only complaint is that the menu is vey limited. Their liquor choices, even on the dessert menu, far outnumber the food choices.
Fork and Bottle has a great atmosphere, and there were a ton of great brunch options to choose from.
The new decor is nice. The menu is small. I ordered steak tips medium rare. They came well done and were chewy. The ginger carrot soup would have been okay but it was not very hot. They were out of apple cake so I took the chocolate mouse cake. That was a mistake (for me) because it was way too rich. The server was very nice. My friends ordered the swordfish (liked it very much) and the filet mignon (sauce was spicy but quality was good). At $65 per person it was not a good value.
Love the brunch buffet! ❤️
Brunch with girlfriends in this newly redesigned space was delicious.
Easy to make reservation. Great service and attentiveness from waitress. Good menu and adequate buffet. My guests were very pleased with the experience.
Same great wait staff and service. I like the new menus and new renovations. Still one of my favorite places to dine
Service great...food about average...temperatures not really hot in chafers and creamed chipped beef was more of a liquid but there was plenty of options ..there were on the menu items also included in the price and they served small portions so u didn’t fill up on one choice and they ask u if small portion is ok...price is good for a brunch , I would go again
Fantastic food - never expected a “hotel restaurant” to be this good. And our waitress, Megann, was absolutely top-notch.
This is such a warm and friendly place to enjoy a meal. The atmosphere, waitstaff, and food is excellent! Jackie Fong is our favorite. She cannot do enough for you to make your visit pleasant. The lunch buffet is excellent with a soup, choices of cold salads and fruit, hoagie pieces or wraps and at least 2 hot entrees with 3 or 4 hot sides. Dessert is also included in the lunch express with their famous bread pudding and homemade cookies.
The food and service was very good. It was a fine dining experience in a hotel.
Very good meal. I had the lamb; wife had the salmon. Lamb was absolutely perfect and delicious. Salmon was good but perhaps could have had more seasoning (still, it was very good). Used a Groupon which took a bite out of the price.
What used to be a 100% perfect Sunday Brunch venue is suddenly questionable. The noise level is up considerably, and what's the deal with the new tables and chairs. Either the tables are too high or the chairs too low. Not all that comfortable. Fortunately the food, service value and location work well for us, but for seniors (who have the money and are growing in number), this may not be a great choice anymore. And the new name - Fork & Bottle?! What uncreative 20-member committee chose that?
Brunch was very good. Omelette station. Sliced ham and turkey breast. Plenty of sweets and pastries. Breakfast items. Pasta. Seafood. Coffee and juice included. Hotel was sold to Hilton so it will be interesting to see how things change
Very nice. New renovations make the space brighter. Great selection. Eggs and buffet items could be warmer.
Celebrating a birthday
We enjoy sunday brunch their after Church, food is good, help very pleasant nice sunday way to send mid day.
Excellent value for Sunday Brunch in the western suburbs at a hotel. Very comfy and spacious with lots of great tasting choices...for $21...three of us sat for three hours celebrating Super Bowl Sunday....this is more than just breakfast...since you can add meat from the carving board and salads...after you try the omelet bar, or the pancakes and waffles..doughnuts...and don't forget they have a whole extra array of desserts! So much more relaxing than those small, overly busy mostly breakfast places that dot our area..
The location is an old favorite, but the newly renovated restaurant is a gem. The décor is much more updated. Thankfully they've retained the same level of service and quality I've grown to expect. And they still have the lunchtime buffet, which is wonderful. Great choices and variety - and good food, not just buffet "quick style" entrees. Will definitely go there again.
Wonderful server, Devon. Delicious food, especially seafood chowder and snapper entree - although raw oyster/orange marmalade special not a pleasing combination and 2 strip steaks somewhat gristly. A New restaurant getting up to speed
Good service, meal was very good, able to have a nice conversation .
My husband and I were there to celebrate his birthday. This time we both chose the lunch buffet which is always excellent. He tried a new gin that the Fork and Bottle is now carrying from a local distillery in Elverson, Pa......also excellent. Our server Jackie Fong is the best!!! We always request Jackie every time we dine there. She is an asset to the Desmond. She is extremely efficient, pleasant and makes you feel like family.
Great food and service
Fork and Bottle Restaurant is PHENOMENAL!!! The food is simply amazing but the service is even better. Our server Mimi is reason alone to return over and over again! She is personable, knowledgeable, and perfect as a server! She convinced my husband to try something different. He chose the duck and was pleasantly surprised. He absolutely loved it! I had the salmon , which was cooked to perfection! I will be returning soon!!!
Sunday Brunch at the Desmond is enjoyable. There is a variety of selections and a custom omlette station. While not particularly outstanding the food was good and ambiance in the Hunt Room is relaxing. The staff was very courteous
We were surprised the Hunt Room had been 100% renovated since we last visited.
Much brighter. But that was the only change and understandably so. The Sunday Brunch is always delightful and a great value.
Felt like an upscale diner. Service was good, food was value for money but overall impression of what was advertised as ‘fine dining’ greatly disappointed.
The noise level was a little high due to holiday/birthday parties, but the food and service were wonderful as usual!
the Hunt Room WAS a place that had class and taste in its decor. beautiful brass lamps on tables, rich paneling on the walls, and it denoted a sense of class and refined taste.
the new owners of this hotel, have taken it upon themselves to cheapen, and turn this dining room into another "cookie cutter" hilton hotel dining facility. now it is noisy, tacky looking, i was shocked at the paneling that was painted over, and the removal of the elegant brass chandeliers from the dining room to be replaced by tacky lighting. i also noticed that they no long put pepper mills on the table, whoever decided to destroy this once elegant dining establishment to be replaced by the tacky "cookie cutter" plastic look should be fired. i have been coming her since 2006 and i doubt that i will return
Have been here several times for a Christmas brunch, however this time the service was not up to par, and the food was cold within minutes as we were sitting near the window. It was cold, definitely needed a sweater. Did not feel as comfortable as usual, and did not enjoy the experience as in the past. May look for another venue next year.
Three ladies lunching - the restaurant was quite quiet. Service was good but not outstanding considering not many people were dining. Food was quite good and well prepared. I thought prices were high for several food items. One of my friends had tea but it took a while before we could see our service person to get milk for the tea. Sugar was in packets rather than a small bowl which would have been nicer. Nice Christmas music was playing and the decorations were nice - esp. in the lobby.
The cost has gone up, but the food has become less diet friendly. Too heavy for a lunch menu. The noise level made it almost impossible to have a conversation . The infamous bread pudding was dry and almost inedible without the sauce. Very disappointing, bring back the old Hunt Room. Suggest an offering of quiches and less exotic soups.
This is now a different restaurant. But it was very, very good. Excellent food and service.
