The House of William & Merry
Tuesday through Saturday we serve lunch and dinner. On Sunday, we serve brunch followed by a prix fix supper in the evening.
Very nice small intimate establishment. Will be back again
Great service, food menu for lunch was more like brunch. There are soup and salad options but nothing that set it apart.
Really enjoyed the Sunday evening price fix menu. Wonderful choices and great value.
Amazing food and drinks! Excellent service!
Outstanding! Every detail was perfect! I’m truly the most finicky eater, and I will definitely return.
Awesome food. Went to dinner with 3 other people and their meals were great. Would definitely go back again.
Small portions for an outrageous price. Steak was horrible. Fat and gristle. Definitely would not recommend this place.
We loved everything except there was a family nearby with a kid that screamed several times. Once they left, it was 5 star and the ambiance improved.
House of William & Merry never disappoints! Food is always impeccable quality and chef is so creative. It is my husband and my favorite place to dine.
Nothing in the area compares!
Delicious, as always! Inventive dishes that taste awesome with every bite.
Best restaurant in New Castle County. Been multiple times and doesn’t disappoint. Staff is courteous and knowledgable.
Hard to find something on the menu that even sounded appetizing. Not the American cuisine style that I enjoy.
Great food, great service, really nice atmosphere. Highly recommended
Don’t usually leave feedback unless it’s really worth reporting. Have been a loyal customer for over 7 years. Tonight’s experience was less than desirable. Waited 20 minutes to be seated w/a reservation. 45 minutes for our drinks. Food was cold, undercooked and waiter was so stressed. Not sure what happened but our guests were less than impressed and we were embarrassed. Hoping this was a fluke and that next time will be better!
Amazing food. Loved the size of the menu...not too confusing. Waitress was very knowledgeable about the dishes. Unique dishes that were well put together. Wish the octopus appetizer was a little larger...was so good!
The food and service was excellent. We had 5:30 reservations, so we were almost alone for the first hour. By 6:30 they had a 'full house'. Then the noise level was so loud that we had to lean in just to have a conversation. Great place for a date, but not a 'quiet' date.
Great service, great meal and menu, great people
THWM always delivers great food - the way they adapt to the seasons is awesome ! The value of their wine list is worth mentioning, great value for all the wines they offer - all in all a great place !
Perfection! Everything created with the love of ingredients, creativity of the season and perfection in service! Made my week. As always, Love The Bryant’s
First time here. I will have enjoy some bread with my soup, the food was too salty, and will have enjoy my bread toasted for my sandwich. The noise was very loud was difficult to talk.
We went on a Sunday for dinner and they only offer a prix fixe menu on Sunday evenings. That was not a problem because every course I had was exceptional from start to finish. Our waiter was very attentive and friendly and we were served each course without delay. We had a wonderful time with our friends due to such exquisite service and food. As we were leaving, the owner made a point to say goodbye to us, and considering how busy she must have been, that was really kind of her to do. I highly recommend this restaurant. You will not be disappointed.
This was our second time dining at The House of William and Merry and both experiences have been great! The menu changes often and the flavor combinations in each dish are wonderfully balanced and always a fresh take even when the dish itself is a classic. We feel well taken care of and attended to as well. On top of all that, the prices are surprisingly affordable for food I would definitely describe as gourmet! The cocktails and other bar selections are great too.
We ate for the first time at this restaurant 2 days ago. Because of the timing (6 PM) we were not terribly hungry and just ordered from the appetizer menu. We had 3 items, all were seafood, and the Caesar salad. I felt the food was well presented but not very tasty, none were something I would order again. The Caesar was whole leaves coated in a lot of Parmesan cheese, scant dressing, and an anchovy on top. Later that night I did not feel well either and I do not know if it was me or something I ate. I do not plan to go back but in all honesty I can not blame the meal, it could have been me.
Always a great meal and friendly professional service. Love this gem
Celebrating our wedding anniversary. Service was outstanding. Food was excellent as usual.
Awesome place! Food and service was top notch. Decor or ambiance could use improving. We sat upstairs. Had a great time all around!
A great find! A small homey (as the name suggests), cozy restaurant with great, creative food and drink. The Cast Iron Octopus starter was excellent as was the Baked Wild Nordic Cod. Parking at the restaurant is sparce but this is a large lot just down the street.
Amazing dinner and staff were very helpful with food sensitivities.
Love the brunch, the menu has a lot of variety
Overall good restaurant but for the price it should be excellent. I had the octopus appetizer. The octopus was cooked perfectly. The sauce was good but the flavors lacked depth. Seasoning was ordinary. I also had the seafood special. All of the seafood in the dish was cooked perfectly but again the sauce lacked brightness. Some fresh citrus juice would have greatly improved the dish. The creme brulee would have benefited from some fresh fruit. Service tends to be slow. I ordered a 2nd glass of wine and it came when I had finished my meal.
Hands down the best Sunday brunch available in the Hockessin area and surrounding region. The food is creative and exceptional and the entire team is simply fantastic!
This restaurant is a must try. Me husband and I just loved it!!!
This was once my favorite restaurant in Delaware, but the quality seems to have gone down over the years. It was OK, but nothing particularly noteworthy.
This restaurant is a rare gem in the Wilmington area. The food is always amazing and eclectic. We have never been disappointed with a meal there.
Fantastic experience, wonderful food and service
Everything was perfect. Will definitely go back
I’d recommend but with caveat that it is very noisy making easy conversation impossible. Go on off hours for possibility of lower decibels.
As always, our Sunday Supper was outstanding. The food and the service were top notch, and the price fixed menu provided ample choices to sample the kitchen's considerable relents. Service was quite unobtrusive while remaining very attentive to our needs.
farm fresh chef is great
