Our reservation was for 6:45 and we didn’t receive our food (which I had to go ask for) until 8:15pm. I ordered a steak medium, it was cooked over well done and one of the worst steaks I’ve paid for to date. The waiter also had no personal space boundaries and touched my hat twice and my wife’s arm more than once. This restaurant was just awful and we will never return.
This restaurant has gone downhill. It used to be my favorite in Franklin but the food quality is not good. This is my 3rd bad experience in a row. I will not be returning.
Fantastic food, wonderful service, marvelous evening
The food was good, the service was ok but the price was extremely high. I was very shocked when I saw what the price was for the catch of the day.
The restaurant was beautiful, seating was nice. The food was terrible, portions were extremely small which wouldn't have been a big deal had it been good food, most everything was cold on our plate, the steak was not cooked correctly, they were out of several things. We don't mind paying $24 for duck confit but when it comes out with maybe 4 bites of duck and it was Luke warm at best they were out of Brussels sprouts , and paying $38 for a steak that wasn’t cooked as ordered it was very disappointing!! Also ordered the Deviled eggs at $10 for 5 half eggs you could do better!!
To put it simply, it was fine. We had the deviled eggs, fried green tomatoes, meatloaf and pork shank. The best thing was the FGT. The deviled eggs were served 5 different ways...but they all were too similar. We also got salads to start....Strawberry salad for me and only because it had goat cheese. It was supposed to be mixed baby greens but it wasn't anymore then wilted arugula with a smidgen of goat cheese shreds. Needless to say, I pushed the lettuce around to get to the strawberries and candied walnuts. The meatloaf was....fine. way too many potatoes and not enough collard greens.
Service was very slow to get food even though it was not crowded. We did enjoy the food on a we got it. I will probably give it another try.
The one positive aspect of this visit was the drink, the Honey Bear! I absolutely loved it. The experience went downhill after I was brought cold grits with my french toast. They looked very hard upon first sight, but I opted to give it a try. I had to spit it out immediately when it was clear they were cold and clearly not even cooked. I have never been served cold grits, ever. It then became very difficult to get that taste out of my mouth. The french toast was ordinary, and the service from the hostess and the server was very cold and distant. I have no desire to ever return and would not recommend this place for brunch.
The Honeysuckle is a really nice surprise amongst it's surroundings. Their aged Wagyu steaks are simply delicious, as was everything else we tried. If you want a break from the surroundings and have really delicious dinner in a relaxing atmosphere, then eat here. When we return to Nashville, the Honeysuckle will be on our agenda from now on!
Everything was very delicious- cocktails and dinner!
Too many choices. All looked good
Service, food, drinks, ambience - all excellent. This is a well run establishment with a dedicated and attentive service staff. Great spot for lunch, happy hour, and dinner!
Went to celebrate a birthday and was surprised by the server noticed on the reservation it was my birthday! It was a nice surprise!
Had never been before so went there for my wife's birthday with another couple. Ambiance was exceptional and our server was very attentive to our table's needs (I can't remember her name, but she had an accent. She was initially at the door to greet us. Definitely top notch). The food was good. Charcuterie tray, biscuits, and duck frites were awesome! The only complaint I can give is that the food could have been seasoned a little more ( esp. on the pork shank, fried green tomatoes, fried chicken, burger). And I think they missed putting the bacon jam on my burger. And that's the only reason I'm not giving them 5 stars. Definitely go if you get a chance.
It was a great experience all around. From the food, decor, choice in drinks to dessert. Top notch.
We were celebrating a family members birthday. Our first time at The Honeysuckle. Chose it based on a recommendation from my son. We were very pleased with our choice. The fried green tomatoes for an appetizer were very good. The pork shank was good as was the steak frites. We will definitely go again.
The only thing we noticed was the highway noise because we sat outside. Otherwise, perfect, great food, pleasant server, sunset, and the company.
Fantastic service and dinner. We had the charcuterie board for an appetizer amd we both had the steak frites. Everything was excellent. Service was great!
Service was a bit spotty. Meatloaf is a favorite but they were out.
From beginning to end our evening here was perfect. The staff were warm and welcoming, our server was extremely attentive, and our food choices were excellent. Can’t wait to come back.
Excellent birthday dinner. Very knowledgeable & courteous staff. We shall dine here again.
Did not have a vegan menu as they say, only vegetarian/vegan options like any other restaurant. For the price point the food was not prepared well nor presented well. The restaurant was loud and more like a commercial chain restaurant seating with raised booths and a bar. We arrived about 15 minutes early before our reservation and were told that it would be closer to our reservation time before they could seat us, despite several If not at least half the seating was empty, maybe a shortage of staff. We sat at the bar to have a drink, the bar tender brought us a food menu and a drink menu but when we told her that we were waiting for our reservation and just ordering a drink she said “that’s ok” and walked away. She never returned to get our drink order. Our server was nice and gave us great service, however I felt like she was trying to over sell us on food, she pointed out two menu options for suggestions “ her favorites “ and they were two most expensive things on the menu. I didn’t believe they were her favorite and felt more like she was a used car sells man trying to talk me into something I didn’t want. However, she smiled, she was polite, friendly, and attentive.
Overall - somewhat good service, ambiance of the restaurant and food quality/presentation did not match the price point for this style restaurant. If your looking for more of an after work cocktail with some “ok” food options to snack on with friends than this may be your style of place. But it doesn’t rise to the level of needing a reservation for a date night.
Nice atmosphere. Brunch food average. Biscuits hard. Didn't taste fresh. Cobbler was small skillet of pureed blueberries with very little cobbler. Overpriced. Server very nice.
Other than not having the French toast available, food and atmosphere was nice!
I love the atmosphere of this restaurant and the table service was wonderful, but the kitchen was a fail.
The good: I had a 19 oz dry aged steak and it was wonderful.
The bad: Everything else.
The appetizers were late and the Oysters Vanderbilt tasted like it had a pound of dirty cream cheese dumped on the top of each oyster. The sides came very late and when the sides were finally delivered the order of asparagus consisted of 5 skinny spears.
My wife's meal was removed from the bill by the staff which was a good sign of the restaurant owning their issues. Overall this restaurant is still expensive for what you get. Hopefully they will be able to get their kitchen up to speed but we will likely not go back any time soon.
Graduation and promotion celebration
This is the 4th time we have eaten at Honeysuckle. We have to say the food wasn't as appetizing as before and the service was very slow and disorganized.
Salads were good. Halibut was okay - nothing outstanding.
Pork belly Mac and Cheese - not impressed. Looks like they set a piece of bacon on top. Duck - disappointed - previously good portion and flavor - not this time.
Dessert - avoid the cobbler. It was more like they dumped some canned blueberries on some bread crumbs. Other tables had the bread pudding which may have been a better choice.
We'd still recommend eating there - hopefully it will get better organized
Fantastic meal. We had the pork shank, duck, and shrimp and grits. Everyone loved their entrees. 5 stars.
We went for a birthday celebration. This was our first visit here. Overall the food was good (a little over sauced for my taste but cooked well and flavorful). The restaurant looked like it could use a bit of cleaning. There was quite a bit of dust accumulation on the decor next to our booth as well as on the hanging lights over our table. We didn't get to see much of the restaurant for ambience given we were seated in the bar which was dark and closed off from the decorated dining area with larger windows. It made the restaurant and experience feel like a strip mall spot and not the potentially nice dining establishment we were expecting. We may have had a different impression had our request to sit at a different table been honored and we could have experienced the decor, light room, and a more open table.
This was my second visit and I had to get the same thing again. The Volcano cut pork shank is to die for. The meat falls off the bone. Paired with crispy Brussels and the creamy grits is amazing.
This was perfect for business. We could discuss business, but it wasn’t so quiet that it was awkward! The food was delicious. Do yourself a favor and get the charcuterie board and the oysters!!
We love it so much we’re becoming regulars!
Great service and great food!
This was my first visit to Honeysuckle. The food, service and ambiance was good. I’ll definitely be making another trip.
We were very pleasantly surprised with our experience at Honeysuckle. Drinks at the bar were well-made. Service was pleasant and competent. The food was very good to excellent. The only issue with the food was that we felt guilty because the portions were so big for the money that it felt like we were doing something wrong! Incredible value. They could reduce portions by a third and I don't think anyone would notice, much less be disappointed. Will go again.
The cauliflower starter was tdf. The problem was that after a 10+ minute wait for our order to be taken, it was another 25 minutes before it arrived along with 2 of the three mains. One of the two, the blackened, extra spicy fish tacos, arrived neither blackened nor extra spicy (but tasty nonetheless). The third main (french toast) arrived some 10 minutes later with most of the crème anglaise apparently still in Angleterre until the manager came by to apologize most sincerely for the problems with service, provide additional crème, and comp the cauliflower and the okay french toast. (I raised the service to two stars because of the welcome intervention of the manager)
Two Thumbs Up! We are here with a group of friends and EVERYTHING was perfect. From check in to service and the food. Very nice atmosphere and a great place for any special occasion. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone and I will be booking again.
We had a great time! Chef came to say hi and Christina was very attentive
