About The Hollow
The Hollow utilizes ingredients from local farmers. We are a scratch made, chef driven restaurant.
We do not specialize in any one type of cuisine, we specialize in high quality, delicious cuisine at an affordable price.
We have a full bar with a menu and happy hour from 5pm-6pm, with half off craft cocktails.
Whether it's our fried oysters with sweet corn, lime, and Serrano chili jam, our lamb tagine, or our chicken and dumplings, we are sure to have something to please any palate. So, please, join us.

Although the food was flavorful, I was disappointed that my huevos rancheros with chorizo was sadly lacking in chorizo. While I did't expect large amounts of meat in my dish, I do expect more than teeny tiny morsels of chorizo. I had to really inspect the bean mixture to see the chorizo.
The service was terrible. We had to ask for our side of bacon. We had to ask for refills on our coffee. And we never got a refill of our water glasses. I ended up having to drink my husbands water. There just wasn't anyone to flag down to ask for more water. I've eaten here many times before and I'm hoping this lack of service was a one time deal.
FOOD WAS GOOD....WHEN IT CAME TO PAYING WAITRESS SAID MY AMERICAN EXPRESS CARD WAS TURNED DOWN...........THEN MY DISCOVER CARD WAS DENIED. SO I PAID IN CASH. i CALLED BACK THAT NIGHT TWICE FOR A RETURNED PHONE CALL TO LET YOU KNOW YOU HAVE A PROBLEM WITH CARD VERIFICATION SYSTEM. I IMMEDIATED CALLED AMERICAN EXPRESS AND DISCOVER SAID THAT CREDIT WAS GREAT AND THEY HAD NO REQUEST FROM YOUR RESTAURANT. IF I CANT GET A RETURNED PHONE CALL AND RESPONSE I WONT BE BACK NOR WILL I REFER CUSTOMERS TO YOU. IT WAS VERY EMBARRASSING AS IT WAS MY GIRLFRIENDS BIRTHDAY. SHE LIVES IN SUN CITY...........NOT GOT TO REFER YOU PLACE EITHER. POOR MANAGEMENT ................MIKE BROCK
We had an out of town guest and we're excited to visit the Hollow after it's do-over. Our waitress was very friendly, the "new" artisan cocktails we're very yummy, and, the salads were more than ample and very good. We were off to a great start. Then, our entrees arrived... our friend had the chicken under a brick - looked beautiful, was a very large portion, unfortunately, it wasn't cooked through. (Nothing worse than raw chicken). At this point things went down hill! Our waitress got busy with other tables and didn't come to check on us for some time, so we couldn't alert her to the chicken. When she did make it back to the table, she said she would have the chicken "fixed" soon. We didn't see her, or the chicken, for another 20 minutes. When questioned, she assured my husband that it should be right out. He asked to speak to the manager who saundered over already sporting an attitude. His response to the time factor was that, "the kitchen is very busy." If I hadn't offered to share my dinner with my friend, she wouldn't have eaten that evening. Very disappointing, especially on the part of the manager. We like to support our local restaurants, but not certain we can feel comfortable to return to The Hollow. (Yes, they did comp the chicken).
Chef Jacob keeps amazing me with his creations and great wine selection. If you like duck you won't be disappointed Chef Jacob's unique way to create his dish is the reason why we keep coming back. Menu is reasonably priced and the staff is always courteous and knowledgeable. Definitely one of our favorite restaurants in the WORLD!
First time visit before gong to the theater in G'town. Everything went well, had a nice, quieter, table in the back. Menu was not your normal dishes but everything we had was great. Noteworthy was the chicken which was seasoned differently but delicious, most certainly recommend it. Service was very attentive by Katlyn. Will go back and recommend to those wanting to go to the G'town square area for dining.
Went back to the Hollow after several months knowing they just revamped their menu. The menu on their web site is not 100% up to date but close. They do offer a greater number of choices on the menu. I had the beef B. and my wife the salmon. Both dishes were outstanding in quality and taste. Both dishes just melted in your mouth. A minor note is the menu said roasted potatoes and both dishes had mashed. Never did ask why!!! Beet salad was outstanding. Dessert-usually don't have but they had a Chocolate dessert which we shared and was rich and delicious.
Service began a bit so-so. Ordered drinks while looking over the menu and my wife received her drink about 5 minutes before mine arrived...a simple martini...must be able to locate the olives faster! We ordered a bottle of wine but would recommend they provide more choices on the red wine list specifically.
Overall we enjoyed it and will go back. Hopefully they will make some fine tuning adjustments then it will truly be an outstanding dining experience in Georgetown.
First time we have been back since the Hollow reopened with its new menu. We were really pleased with the Sunday brunch items. My better half had the French toast and was delicious. I had the pork belly eggs Benedict and I have to say that was about the best I have very eaten and the muffin was light and large. The coffee we ordered came out stone cold but was rectified quickly. They had singer songwriter during the Sunday brunch and was a nice add to the atmosphere. All in all we were very satisfied with the overall experience and the menu does seem much more approachable and reasonable cost compared to past times we went. If you haven’t been in a while I would highly recommend you give it a try.
Scoped out this tiny restaurant in Georgetown’s main square for our daughter’s rehearsal dinner. Could not have been more surprised - seriously upscale with great cocktails and amazing food - all at a very reasonable price. Everyone was super friendly and we had a great time.
the bar needs some TLC decor wise...it seems run down neglected...empty shelves..
My glass of wine was spoiled...bartender replaced and did not charge for replacement..nice customer service.
There was a lack of a lighter for the bartender to make the smoked cocktail...finally got one but she had to ask again to get it back from manager...
for an upscale place with upscale prices the ambiance is lacking and the staff is eager but not polished.
I suggest a happy hour menu and take some $$ of wine and beer for happy hour.
The white chairs look euro trashy...
would be worth it to have a real decorator or designer help with the decor.
the food is good and definitely the haute cuisine of Georgetown but the decor and resulting atmosphere is lacking. Would keep us from being regulars.
Mike, the host was terrific! The food -beef bourgognon, beet salad and brussel sprouts were excellent made from the freshest ingredients. Since we were there last they have renovated and updated this restaurant on Georgetown Square and we call it rustic elegance. Overall a great experience!
The food was amazing, we had the cheese and meat platter and bruschetta which was out of this world delicious. All 4 of us dining were happy with our meals and the cocktails are outstanding! I would definitely recommend to friends and take friends! I will be back!
Took my two best friends here for a Girls night out dinner. One is an adventurous diner and the other is not so I was a little hesitant about how the less adventurous would react. We were all blown away. We had the Salmon, Beef Bourguignon and Seared Steak. Absolutely Amazing. Make sure you Save room for dessert. Cheesecake, chocolate Tort, Apple Tart. You will not regret the calories! Service was as wonderful as the food. Cannot wait to return.
We decided to give the hollow another try since they reopened with a new concept and I’m so glad we did. They have $4 classic drinks at happy hour and they were so good. We tried the salmon and it may actually be the best thing either of us have ever eaten! It wasn’t cheap, but I didn’t mind paying $20 for the quality. We considered getting a second one for dessert, but went with the life by chocolate instead. It was good, but not sure if I would spend $8 again considering the small portion. They serve Je Suis coffe from right here in Georgetown, so we had to get some with our dessert. It did not disappoint! The service was great as well. The prices are still somewhat high but the new menu offers starters and some entrees that are more affordable. We will definitely be going back and I would recommend it to anyone!
we had not eaten at the Hollow in about a year we used to go every few months -frankly, they have gotten a bit to proud and way overpriced. What used to be a $35.00 prix fix menu is now a $35.00 and up entree- and some of the portions were way too small for the money - The scallops were $32.00 and the bowl contained soupy couscous and three scallops. The mushroom appetizer which was $14 or so, could barely be seen and was certainly not worth the expense. Conversely the Beef Wellington, was two large slices but over-priced at $55.00.
The food is tasty, but frankly not worth the expense and I don't think we will be back
We wanted to treat a friend for a milestone birthday. The Hollow was over the top. Great food with incredible seasoning, unusual and subtle flavors. The ambience was comfortable and upscale, yet welcoming. The staff is very knowledgeable and attentive. This is our go-to special event restaurant. Definite worth a drive even though we live here.
The best description I can write is when they get it right, they hit it out if the ballpark. When they don't, it is a "less than", flawed, and expensive meal. However, it is always a very interesting, creative, experience. My food tonight was meh (scallop), but I will go back because it is very different culinary experience, and worth the risk. They finally have the service right, and the atmosphere is cool.
