Everything was excellent, from the food to wait staff!
Trip Advisor got it right. Top notch, across the board. Seating was roomy, spectacular views , and every entre at our table was fabulous.
We ordered from the Restaurant Week menu and thoroughly enjoyed our meal. We chose the appetizer, salad and entree courses, and skipped dessert. The scallop and buffalo oyster appetizers were particularly good. The scallops were grilled and had a delicious sauce for dipping on the end of the plate. The fried oysters were served on a slightly spicy buffalo sauce with curled cucumbers on top. The house salad was very large, and the Caesar salad, with shaved Parmesan cheese, had a nice dressing. The short rib entree was very tender and tasty, and included two generous-size pieces, with two fried onion rings on top. The duck leg cassoulet, served with white beans, was quite tasty.
The view is stunning and the food is excellent. The calamari was off the hook and duck was cooked perfectly and The alpine cheese potatoes were delicious. Mary M was the best server ever.. super friendly and knowledgeable and super engaged with her customers. Thank you for a great meal and memory... we will be back for sure!
Loved the view & the food. Our server was very attentive. Special night out with my husband.
Great dinner. Had crab cakes and the mahi daily special. Both were well prepared. Excellent cocktails as well from the bar.
Food and service were both great.....prices competitive
The food was delicious and the atmosphere is always fantastic
Great meal. On the high, price side, in my opinion.
We went on Easter Sunday and I must say that the servers were phenomenal. The place was crowded, it had just opened barely a week before, it was very crowded and I think (for the servers) very difficult to maneouver among so many tables. They are to be congratulated!
Energetic Crowd! We were in Ocean City, MD for our 30th anniversary weekend & since our other evening was casual, we wanted a more upscale restaurant for the 2nd evening. We had a 7:30 reservation & the place was packed. We were seated & it was a nice touch there was a printed Happy Anniversary card on the table. We ate the price fixed menu where you chose 3 out of 4 offerings (appetizer, salad, entree or dessert). I chose the beef tenderloin empanadas w/ blue cheese. (Good, but kept thinking this is made with someone's leftover steak, oey). Hubby had caesar salad, very good. We both had the 10 oz glass of wine. Big glass of wine! Good house pinot noir. I had the crab cake & my husband had swordfish. Both very good. Ended with creme brulee, which again, was delightful. Place was VERY noisy, in fact people behind us were screaming laughing & pounding on the table. Not quite the place for a quiet anniversary dinner, but it was Sat night. We also had to ask the staff, because out of the 5 tables surrounding us, we were 1st to order, but last one served dinner. Again, not a big deal.We realize it is the end of the season. A very nice place, beautiful inside, cathedral ceilings, nice view (if it wasn't dark out). Nice menu & staff were friendly, even walking us outside to wish us Happy Anniversary.
Phenomenal dining experience!! From beginning to end this is a fantastic restaurant that we will visit again and again! Stunning views of the bay and sunset! Superb food and service!! We look forward to next season!
A much improved visit from our visit last year. Beautiful sunset. Tim was a great server - cordial and good pacing. Delicious salads and appetizers with veal and crab cake entrees. Loved the $40 wine opportunities to celebrate 40 years. Looking forward to next season!
Bike ride event
Great food and service. Loved the Pieogi Entree
Dinner was great and the service was outstanding. Dessert was even better!
I have never really had a great meal in ocean city Maryland this changed that. Beautiful restaurant, great service wonderful food. We caught it on restaurant week so it was not only delicious but reasonable. Love the $40 wine list. All in All a great dinner . We will definitely be back.
The food was excellent. Our server John R. was pleasant and provided excellent service. The view was spectacular and the ambience perfect. Go before sunset so you can watch the sunset from the dining room. Great experience.
We’ve eaten here every time we get away to Ocean City. The food was terrific. My husband had the cheeseburger soup, which he loved. My filet, ordered medium, was way too rare, but was quickly fixed, and they took my glass of wine off the check. Very nice of them. Service was impeccable. Noise level is very high. Don’t expect quiet conversation.
Service was quick with wait staff supporting each other in delivery and clean up. We had the ahi tuna, fillet and salmon. All raved about their dishes both in presentation and preparation.
This is an excellent restaurant in all respects. The food and service are top notch. We have a meal at the Hobbit every time we visit Ocean City and have never been disappointed. The wait staff seem to enjoy their work which is a real plus and you get the feeling that they realize that in their line of work the Hobbit is the place to work in Ocean City. We were seated beside the window and had a fantastic view of the sunset.
One of the most amazing dining experiences we've ever had! Breathtaking views and exceptional food and service!! Top notch!
First class all the way. From the hostess to the waiter to the delicious food to the gorgeous view; The Hobbit staff made sure our anniversary was perfect. Will go back for sure.
Nice fine dining restaurant in oc Maryland. Great drinks nice view of bay at sunset.Food was absoulutely good.My very first time going to hobbit and not my last when in town, nice ambience.
This was our first time to the Hobbit, but it won't be the last. All 4 of us had fabulous meals. The view of the bay was great with nice wetlands and a Blue Herron out for everyone to watch. The only disappointment was that Hurricane Maria was off shore and making it a cloudy day, so no fabulous sunset to be seen. The service was also excellent. We will return.
The Hobbit offers a creative and interesting menu with a wide variety of choices. Everything was prepared expertly and served with gracious professionalism. An excellent choice for a special meal at the beach!
Wonderful restaurant - outstanding food (especially the crabcakes!) and service! Beautiful views of the water too!
I loved it. Had a great experience. Food was delicious and staff was very nice. I would go again when in the area.
Family dinner of 8 to celebrate my parent's 50th Anniversary. We had made a reservation for 7:45P. A party of 4 came in at the same time and was told it would be a one hour wait.
Had prior communication with the manager about the occasion. They put a card on the table that said "Happy Anniversary" and said we would have a window seat so we could enjoy the view. Should have thought about the fact it was night time - we couldn't see anything so I can't attest to what it looks out on to. There are a lot of windows (the outside walls are all large windows).
Another part of the prior communication was about some special dietary needs. They were very gracious in accommodating what we needed.
The food was very, very good. The server never spent much time at our table, but was friendly and efficient.
My one issue that made it less than 5 stars? The noise! It was so, so hard to have a conversation - it was like being in a loud bar but without the music. We were literally shouting at each other across the table all night.
The food was very good. Our friends from Wisconsin thoroughly enjoyed it. Our gent friend actually ordered 3 orders of lollipop lamb chops! The downside is it's quite noisy and we had to shout a few times to be heard by each other. Also it would help if the wait staff would smile a bit more
I loved this restaurant. The food was outrageously delicious, service was superb and the ambience was terrific. I will definitely be back!
Although dining alone, did not feel neglected and had great service. The food was outstanding with the filet mignon being one of the best that I have ever tasted. They have a great wine selection and the view of the bay was beautiful.
The Hobbit is an upscale restaurant with a beautiful view of the sunset over the bay. It was quite busy on a Wednesday night. Portions were generous, and our food was delicious! The staff was professional and welcoming. The prices make this a special occasion night out for us, but I would recommend it for couples or groups who are looking for a pleasant evening and a fine dining experience.
Have lived in Ocean City Md over 10 years but never dined at The Hobbitt. The view was panorama and the food amazing. Both our dishes were bountiful , served hot and delicious. The dessert and coffee were equally upscale and topped off the meal. Well worth the visit and as the room slowly filled with adults you could carry on your conversation just fine. Thanks for a very nice eveneing.
Great experience at dinner the other night. Our server was amazing! And the food was perfect! Will come again when I am in the area!
Always a great meal and good service! My whole table had the filet (which is sooo unusual!) and was worth it!!! The filet melted in our mouth--flavor unbelievable!!!! fingerling potatoes were crisp on the outside and soft and selfish on the inside. EXCELLENT!!!!!
The best food in OC served in the most beautiful setting. Friendly staff always greeting you and wishing you a good night.
Wonderful view, great food, and perfect for our romantic birthday date night.
Always enjoy a nice meal at the Hobbit. I love the choice of seafood, steak or even pirogies. Nice atmosphere with profession wait staff. I'll be coming back many times.
The Hobbit is the best restaurant in Ocean City, MD. The service is superb, the new facility has a pleasant, modern decor. The food was delicious- we recommend the steak and salmon (photos attached). The view of the bay at sunset is magnificent. The Hobbit hsa been tops since we foirst started visiting OC 25 years ago, and it remains on top after an hiatus of 15 years.
