Fabulous food, fabulous staff and fabulous ambience and view!!!
It was my fiancé birthday. They made us feel very speedil. Food delicious and ice cream bar dessert was the best dessert we ever had.
Limited menu, good food.
Swordfish was very nice.
Love this restaurant, ambiance, view of the bay, food and service were all outstanding. We went with friends to celebrate my husbands birthday...he ordered the crab cakes and said they were the best he ever had! That's saying a lot as we live in Maryland and he eats crab cakes everywhere we go. We shared two appetizers, calamari and the garlic spread both were excellent. The salmon was cooked to perfection and topped with a cucumber salad, looked and tasted wonderful. Everyone raved about the deserts. Great time.
The Hobbit is always a wonderful experience. From their friendly and professional wait staff to the delicious food (best crab cakes in OC), our family loves everything about The Hobbit. Great family owned restaurant.
This is our third time to the Hobbit and every occasion has been outstanding. Excellent food and thoughtful and attentive service reign supreme here.
Our experience was wonderful. The food was delicious, the view was spectacular and we will definitely be back.
Boyfriend took me on a date here. First time even hearing about the place. I am absolutely in love with it and we will be back. Beautiful atmosphere, great service and the food(we got the swordfish dinner) phenomenal!
Excellent in every category. We will be back soon. Definitely will be telling all our friends to check it out
Beautiful views. High end sleek. Interesting menu. Food very good. A bit short staffed? Sometimes wait long for waitress.
We had a wonderful evening at the Hobbit. The food, service and view made for a very enjoyable evening.
The crab soup was delicious...more of a bisque than a soup..I’d go back for that alone....Great service and excellent food..
Treated less because we got early birds. Raw green beans. Salad good.
Have been coming here for years when on vacation. The atmosphere is awesome with expansive views of the bay along with beautiful sunsets. The food is exemplary. I particularly like the salads. I usually have the strawberry salad, but decided to try the peach salad instead. It also was excellent with fresh peaches and smoked cheese slices. The crab was excellent, as was the filet mignon. We shared a slice of chocolate mousse rum cake that was to die for. Service was impeccable. This is my favorite restaurant in Ocean City.
Dinner was absolutely fantastic! I highly recommend this restaurant if you are in the area.
The view was breathtaking.... staff very attentive... food amazing.... Will be back
We have always enjoyed our dinners at the Hobbit. The view of the bay is awesome especially when you can watch the sunset.
She Crab Soup was exceptional. Crab cakes lacked flavor and only had two potato dishes to choose from for a side. The veal dish with mushrooms was overpowered by the watery gravy and made the appearance unappealing. I believe for this dish less would be better. Service was good, but not outstanding.
The food was out of this world...the best food I have ever eaten. The service and atmosphere was great.
Another great meal with a friend at the Hobbit, using the Early Bird Menu. I had the flounder stuffed with crab imperial, and my friend had the chicken Marsala. Both of us enjoyed our meals very much.
Always a great dining experience. Food, service, setting and attention to detail second to none
Lovely view, ok food, ok service. Go if you want a great view, if your a foodie, go to another restaurant.
The best restaurant in the Town for fine dining.
Nothing else even close
Want great sunset views from a gorgeous dining room? It's here with a wonderful staff and owner always available the make sure all is well, happy bar scene. Oh yeah......the food is second to none.
Excellent crab cakes w/o any filler; pricy but. All portions substantial and that supports the pricing. Service was excellent and then it wasn’t. Huge gap between leaving dessert menus and return. By then we decided we were done. All dinner dishes were very fine.
This was our third visit to the Hobbit, and we've loved it every time.
Excellent food, decent wine list, lots of specialty drinks.
Highly recommend the Mary's Delight desert.
Great bay view thru large windows.
Service was top notch, as always. Would mention servers name if I could remember it.
One of our favorites in Ocean City. Garvey is a wonderful host and makes everyone feel welcome. The view is stunning and the restaurant beautifully designed.
All the servers are great, but Tim is our favorite. We vicariously live through his off season adventures.
Food was excellent.... Swordfish was the special & it was truly that.
Really enjoyed the desserts. Nice way to finish the meal off!
Our second time to “The Hobbit” and both outings were superb! Everyone talks about the gorgeous sunset view, but the food is the real star. I had the short ribs last time and this time my sister-in-law raved about them. This time, I had the Veal Pistachio and although I’m not one for veal, this was one of the best meals I’ve ever had! Absolutely delicious. Our husbands had the airline chicken, which was good, but not exactly outside the box. Our server was a young lady, (Saturday night) and I wish I could remember her name because she was outstanding. She recommended some dishes and was spot on! Try the house dessert: “Mary’s Delight” you won’t be disappointed. Oh, and there’s very little “Hobbit” theme here, the ambiance is way more elegant than the name would suggest.
Food was great and management even came to the table to apologize for our wait even though there was a minimal wait.
We enjoyed an excellent dining experience from arrival to departure. The host greeted us warmly and seated us in Irina’s section. She was an outstanding server who provided just the right level of service all evening. Our appetizers and entrees were delicious. We enjoyed peaches, strawberry and mozzarella appetizer. The fresh swordfish over corn, asparagus and crabmeat was fantastic. The duck was perfectly prepared. We look forward to our next visit.
Beautiful view, amazing food & wonderful service. Can’t say enough. Will be back!
Food was excellent, only complaint was food came out very fast and little space between courses. We were there as it started to wind down dinner rush, so not sure if this was normal service or not.
Great food, service, and atmosphere. However a very limited wine list keeps this place from being truly great.
I should’ve sent my shrimp and risotto dish back instead of suffering through it. I’ve had the dish several times and it is my absolute favorite. This time it was swimming in some type of orange oil and lacked any of the flavor a garlic-infused dish should have. If my husband’s crab dish hadn’t been so good I would’ve sent back my dish and asked for the check. But, as a special evening I suffered thru the meal rather than ruin the occasion. Questionable whether I’ll risk returning and this was always our favorite restaurant for the past 18 years. Very sad.
Our server, Kevin, could not have been better. He was courteous and professional and personable. My wife and I are doing the lo-carb thing so he relayed that to the kitchen and our entrees we're slow to come out but well worth the wait. Will definitely be back on our annual summer vacation.
Our server, Anna, created an incredible dining experience for two older ladies out for a good meal and catching up. She took us through the menu and drink choices, made sure we were always satisfied with our food and drinks, and gave us space when we indicated we just wanted to chat for a while. She got us seats at the bar afterwards so that we could watch the sun set over the bay, and she was a delight throughout our meal. The flounder stuffed with imperial crab and the crab cake were both excellent, the sides were hot and tasty, but Anna was the difference between a good meal and a terrific evening. Thank you.
Took awhile for the drinks and the food. But the place was packed. So to be expected. Drinks were way overpriced but the food was very good.
Great atmosphere...good time
Pour service. Windows table not available despite free
