The Hive at 21c Ratings and Reviews
We enjoyed our dinner very much. Good Burbon list, great cocktails. Appetizers varied. Liked what we had. Our waitress was very good and also friendly. The bar got more active as the evening progressed. Seems like a good place for drinks even if not dining. Will go back next time we're in town.
This restaurant came highly recommend and it lived up to its rave reviews. The food was incredible and our waiter couldn’t have been more accommodating and helpful and kind. We will tell anyone going to Bentonville that it’s a must!

My two friends and I stopped in for brunch before our visit to the Crystal Bridges Museum. Everything on the menu looked delicious, so we asked the table next to us for recommendations. They have dined at Hive many times and said they have never ordered anything that they wouldn't recommend. We decided on the chicken & biscuit, the Hive Benedict, the sweet potato lakte with a side of bacon/sausage and War Eagle Grits. They were all delicious. We also enjoyed cocktails: the Rise and Shine, the Side Car and the Kentucky Daisy. Great food, great atmosphere, great service... what more could you ask for?
This was my first experience with a 21c property and what a wonderful discovery! There are 7 locations in the US currently; we visited the one in Bentonville AR after visiting The Crystal Bridges American Art Museum. The concept is to create an experience to include a hotel, an art gallery and a chef driven restaurant all in one connected space. The food was local and creative; the service was friendly and attentive and the gallery was delightful with interesting works- kudos to the curator! And is open 24/7!!! With no admission fee!! I highly recommend this experience. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit.
The Hive provided an outstanding date night for my husband and I. We were visiting from out of town to see Crystal Bridges and wanted to finish the visit with a nice dinner. We picked the right place with The Hive. From start to finish everything we ordered was wonderful. The quail appetizer was wonderful, I like quail and order it ofter, this presentation was excellent. My husband had a steak and he really liked it and I had a fish dish which was perfectly prepared. The chocolate mousse dessert was very nice. Would eat at the Hive often if we lived in the area. The atmosphere was pleasant and service was great. Go and enjoy.
I was quite disappointed with our dinner at The Hive. Our server was attentive, but I feel she should have been more knowledgeable with respect to the wines or had someone else help us. The pork crisps were a very tasty appetizer. My swordfish was overcooked which made it very dry. She told us that it was flown in daily (I'm not convinced that's true). The ribeye steak was tasty but nothing special. It was a Monday night so that may have contributed to the lacklustre experience. My biggest complaint is that the wine glasses had water spots all over them. I believe a restaurant that is striving to impress, needs to have this very basic restaurant standard dealt with.
The service was attentive, but this was our second trip to the Hive and it did not impress the way that it did the first time - another special occasion. The steak loomed large but was propped up by succulent potatoes. The prime rib had a fair amount of waste - gristle and fat - and I still dont know what the creamed vegetable was...my guess Kale to be trendy. The ambiance was good, noise somewhat elevated. I've paid less and had a better meal, Ile also paid more and not had as good a meal.
When planning my trip to NWA I was urged to have dinner at The Hive. It was truly a highlight of the week. My scallops were cooked to perfection and my friends pork was tender and juicy. Thrilled to have experienced the restaurant. Our waitress was friendly and informative as well as the hotel lobby staff who helped us interpret the art. Love the green penguins.
I'm sorry to say our experience was not very good. The host was rude and not helpful despite having a reservation. They ran out of the food and we had to change our order. Our server was very nice and apologized profusely. We drove 3 hours and The Hive was a destination restaurant. We were very disappointed. $168 to be served our second choice didn't seem right. Other restaurants in Bentonville were much more rewarding.
We arrived at The Hive around 7:15, at the time of our reservation. After we were seated, our server, "A." gave us a glowing overview of the farm to table menu and told us there were 5
special Sunday Suppers left and that we should order quickly if we wanted one....then she disappeared for about 15 minutes. By the time she got back the dinners were gone. We ordered the pimento cheese appetizer (so-so) after it arrived, we waited, and waited around 8:30 we started to talk about leaving (we had not seen our server for quite some time) when the manager appeared with small cups of soup "compliments of the chef" We expressed our concern that our meal had not arrived, he told us that they had a large group they were serving --pointed out that was not our problem and they should be able to serve everyone in a decent time. He apologized and we see a conversation with the server and manager. The manager came back to our table and told us that the server had told him that we had requested that she wait to put our order in. Absolutely not true. In the end, we got our food at 9:00. We were able to watch the server talk to another server as she gestures and points at our table. The manager did comp our meal, which was appropriate for the service and attitude we received from our server.
Fun and Energetic place! Waiter was very knowledgeable of the food and drinks. We had the pimento cheese with bacon jelly to share and it was delicious. Entrees included Pork chop, Ribeye and Swordfish. All were very good and cooked well. Dinner was accompanied with cornbread which was one of few disappointments. The bread was very firm and tasted of baking soda plus barely room temperature. It would have been wonderful warm and softer with the sorghum butter. Dessert was freshly made pecan pie a la mode. Delicious! We will be back!
We had a lovely early dinner with fun professional service by Karina. The quail and sweet potato biscuit app was terrific - intriguing flavors of the honey-cayenne glaze. Perfect thing to munch on with our drinks. Then ricotta cavatelli with wild mushrooms for me and a fabulous rib-eye steak for David. This is our second trip to Bentonville and staying at the 21c and eating at The Hive are big inducements to return.
Jefferson, our server, was outstanding!! He was knowledgeable, informative, and tolerant of my professed knowledge of wines. Especially those of the Willamette valley of Oregon.
He helped me, and my wife, through the typical dinner selections and never missed a beat.
One of the best in my experience( which covers the USA, Asia, and Europe).
The food was quite good. Not up to the expectations I had developed considering the
We really enjoyed the Sunday evening menu. We were in Bentonville to celebrate our anniversary and The Hive was a perfect place to celebrate. We had the very good BMF chicken Sunday dinner. Very fresh and expertly prepared. The dessert with dinner was great. A perfect end to our weekend get a way.
Dinner on Saturday night...Our server (I do not know her name) forgot about us... she did not tell us there was a special....we ate rib eye steak., not knowing we could have enjoyed grouper...The meat was well seasoned and cooked at perfect mid-rare...unfortunately, the quality of the product was sub standard...heavy grissel in the meat forced us to leave half of it on the plate... server failed to bus the table before the dessert arrived... no one asked us if the meal was good even though most of the food was still on the plate...by the way, the potatoes were delicious...toward the end of our meal our server completely disappeared from the dining room... other servers filled in and saved the day...then as we were ready to leave our server reappeared with cotton candy....all in all, not the experience we expected for dinner....then came the good news....the next morning, Sunday, we visited again for brunch....the experience was night and day....Josiah was our server for brunch.... he was extraordinary....food was very good...tasty and served with style...
