The Hill Seafood & Chop House Ratings and Reviews
overall visit was fairly good. They were out of the sea bass (which the server should tell you when handing out the menu ) so I had to decide on a second choice. My napkin was dirty when I unrolled my silverware so I asked for a replacement but never received until I asked a second time. The food was good and we enjoyed eating outside.
I don't normally bother writing restaurant reviews, but our meal was so good at The Hill that I have to let people know. My wife and I were in the area for work. She had heard this restaurant was excellent so we gave it a try. I've eaten a lot of steaks, but my NY strip was among the best I've ever had. My wife had barramundi which was also excellent. The service was attentive but not overly solicitous. This place is worth going to.
This is a fancier restaurant, so I would suggest going for a special occasion. We were there for our anniversary and they seated us at a very private table. The food was well seasoned and delicious. The portions were larger than one would expect for the fanciness of the place. Wine was excellent. There was romantic live music the night we were there.
The Hill always has great food. But our server Amanda was short and snippy with us. Kinda of put a damper on an otherwise fun night out with old friends for my birthday.
We moved to the bar area after dinner and the ladies took great care of us. Loved the cucumber basil 🌿 martini!
The restaurant was very busy Saturday night do to it being Valentine's Day weekend. it seemed as though the place was short staffed service was slow and rushed, they changed the menu options, we came there for Rib Eye's and there signature steak fries and were told they no longer sell Rib Rye's of any kind and had no signature steak fries, had we known this ahead of time I don't think we would have chosen the Hill, I must admit that the New York strip was a great second choice and so was the Surf n Turf, overall the food was good and service was OK, however this was clearly not up to the usual Hill standard we have become accustomed to, I don't know when we will return, I am even disappointed to say this. We usually make it to the Hill 4 to 5 times a year sad to say we discussed not coming back.
We were at the Hill for Valentine Day, 3 days early. When I made reservations I would have liked to be able to request a booth. We had a half booth. Waitress was great and food was excellent. However a group of 8 young couples was right next to us, and they were so loud I thought I was at a sports bar. I feel the wait staff should have ask them to hold it down. I believe they had been drinking before coming to the Hill. The foursome next to us also was very upset over the noise. Up to you to control these types of things. When you spend $200 on a meal for two, you would like the appropriate atmosphere.
From the valet parking, hostess, to the service, the experience is top-notch, and the food is excellent. We enjoyed the Dover Sole, Baratta, and filet from the children's menu. All were wonderful and delicious, in a warm, high-end ambient environment. Always wonderful service and an enjoyable dinner at The Hill!
Have not been here in several years due to relocation and felt the service and food were not as good as in the past. The Hill of Perch was not as well done, the presentation was not as impressive as in the past. The ribeye had excellent taste, but at 45 was on the pricey side. The service was good, but was not up to the level it had been in the past. The wait staff helper was in a rush to take away the plates before we were done. Had to ask for refills for beverages. Were there for a special occasion, but the level of service didn't feel that way.
