The Hickory Lodge Ratings and Reviews
This was our 1st time at The Lodge and it won’t be our last! We made a reservation on Open Table and we were seated, immediately upon checking in! Our waitress, Danni was very pleasant. The food was delicious. My husband and I shared the fresh mozzarella bites (the dipping sauce was superb), he had the ribs (tasty but he said a little on the dry side) and I had the Twin Peaks Chicken (so yummy!) Great place for our date night.
Those Rockfish Bites are amazing and the burgers, while not large, have a very wonderful flavor. I wish they had a larger selection of steaks. The flat iron steak wasn’t the most tender but the flavor was delicious and it was cooked perfectly. I have many more trips to make so I can taste all the items on the menu. I’m certain I won’t be disappointed. 😊
Great service from our waitress . The food was very good.
Only complaint was they took us to the booth. We were asked if this was ok. When we asked for a table because we felt 5 was tight for the booth, we were told they had no tables and there were many reservations that night. Why ask then?
We noticed many tables around us and they were not used while we were there dining!
Still not filled when we left.
Next time I will request a table when making the reservation.
We had a large group for a birthday dinner. The restaurant honored our request to be near the fireplace which was perfect. The table setup made it a little difficult to visit but otherwise, the setup worked well. There was live music so it was a little louder than usual. The prime rib was not as good as usual but the service was great! All in all, a successful night!
So many great food items, was hard to decide which to try. Going to have to go back to try some more. The food was really0 great and Megan was the best. She was friendly, knowledgeable about the selections and offered good suggestions, very attentive, great service. We had the nachos, Rockfish Chesapeake, and a Ceasar salad with salmon.
Was looking for a place we hadn't eaten at before. Had heard from friends that the Hickory Lodge was pretty good (plus a couple of radio ads); so we decided to give it a try.
Place is rustic (ski lodge motif) and the overall atmosphere is laid-back. They have an outdoor eating area that was cranking up for some live music on a Sunday afternoon. We chose to eat inside and could hardly hear what was going on outside - making it a nice, moderately quiet meal.
Ordered an appetizer of "Rockfish Bites" that were flaky and lightly battered. I had the prime rib and my wife had salmon. Both were tastefully prepared and the portions were impressive for the prices they charged. We were too full to order dessert - which was too bad as they had a Bananas Foster Rice Pudding and a Heath Bar Cheesecake just screaming to be tried. (Good reason to come back again.)
Finished off dinner with a cup of coffee - served from individual French presses - it was excellent.
During the whole meal the wait staff was friendly and helpful.
An overall enjoyable dining experience. One that we'll come back to experience again and again.
We had a wonderful server who was attentive, but not intrusive. The kitchen perfectly cooked my burger to order. My only complaint was that the Gouda was not really melted on the top and the avocado was a bit skimpy. The fries are good and salty. My friends ordered wraps and enjoyed them. Had we been eating around dinner time, I would have definitely ordered their fabulous prime rib.
Hickory Lodge is one of our favorite places to go. We usually reserve it for a special occasions such as an anniversary, job promotion, or splurging a little more on date night. Everything we've ordered from the menu has been delicious, including beverages. It's able to fit large groups of people and they have a large outdoor bar/dinning area. I do recommend making reservations on the busier nights (weekend and dinner hours) because the wait time can be at least an hour or more. But they're very good at getting you seated asap. The husband and I love this place and we are never disappointed with the food or service.
Brought my Father here for his special day as he traveled two hours and I wanted to try out a place I've yet to eat at in Harford County. It was amazing! Both my father and mother ordered the Black and Bleu steaks with veggie skewers and garlic mashed potatoes. His steak was medium, hers well, and both were cooked to perfection. Myself, I'm a picky eater, so I ordered a cheese quesadilla and I loved it. All three of us cleared our plates which is rare! Our waitress, Kelsey, did a fantastic job with it being a busy Father's Day. Thanks all!
I've been here several times. Food is always delicious and the staff are great. The bar side of the restaurant is active and busy. Usually music and dancing later in the evening. If you're not into that, sit on the restaurant side and enjoy comfortable seating with good conversation. I do recommend reservations; those who don't reserve are always waiting for a table to open up.
The food is always good - Rockfish Bites are a favorite appetizer! Servers are friendly and efficient without being in your face. The atmosphere is terrific!
My only complaint is the liquor selection. They are finally keeping Johnny Walker Red on a consistent basis, though i would like them to add JW Black. Gin - please put Hendrick's on the shelf!
