The Heritage is one of the many classroom/laboratory facilities operated by the Secchia Institute for Culinary Education at Grand Rapids Community College. The restaurant is staffed by students in the culinary programs and is under the direct supervision of Chef and Dining Room Professors.

During lunch, your meal will be prepared and served by first year students. The meals represent International Cuisine with modern and classical touches. In the evening, The Heritage reopens to feature a relaxed atmosphere, more Continental Cuisine, and our second year students will serve and prepare your meal.

The Secchia Institute for Culinary Education restaurants and kitchens are classroom settings. We take pride in them. Our students prepare our meals daily with the finest seasonally available ingredients including freshly baked artisan bread.

Private party facilities
The Heritage is able to accept a limited amount of banquet style parties during regular class time periods while we are in operation for lunch only. These meals usually are 3 to 4 courses including chef's choice first course of soup, salad, or appetizer, guest's selection of entree for second course off our menu, and assorted desserts brought to the table for guests to share. We do request one check for these large parties and pricing is $20-$25 per person including beverage, tax, and service charge.

Wanted valentines evening but already booked. Two nights later was just as good.
Kids do an outstanding job in food preparation and service.
Also the brewery is outstanding for beer and horderves (sp?) glad to see the brewery is also popular. The curriculum must be pretty vigorous because these kids are doing an amazing job!!!

Beautiful presentation making everything visually appealing. I tried foods that I had never
eaten before and was pleasantly surprised with the flavors and blends of seasonings. I wish I could repeat the meats and sauces at home.

the food was great, but the hostess sat us in a terrible spot so we asked to be moved. The server forgot to serve us one of the courses of our meal and never even acknowledge that they she fogot an entire course of our meal.

This is part of the Culinary Arts program at Grand Rapids Community College. Servers and cooks are students. It is the best value in town. Great service, excellent food, affordable prices.

Amazing night! Staff was awesome and the food was to die for.

The only thing I would mention is the noise coming from the bar.

Take it from two people who have eaten at five star restaurants around the globe and even here numerous times. Our meal today was one one of the best ever. The black bean soup, chicken tortilla soup and the coconut shrimp bisque were all exceptional. The fish and beef main courses were perfectly cooked and balanced in both flavor and color. The chocolate gateau heavenly. Service excellent with a smile. Thank you.

I excepted much from The Heritage after reading review after review about how wonderful it is. The food was mediocre and definitely not worth the price. The noodles for dinner tasted weird and the flavors did not go well. My girlfriend did not enjoy the experience and would have rather had gotten something cheaper and tastier than seemingly good food and environment. The soufflé was way too cheesy and the flavors were not balanced out correctly. My girlfriend did not finish any of her dishes. What a disappointment! Also, the waiter gave us our tab before serving our dessert. I would not recommend. There are so many more options than what we got.
