The Henry Ratings and Reviews
I have had amazing experiences at this restaurant about a year ago. I wanted to celebrate a graduation lunch there and it was awful. Service was awful. Food was bad, cold, over cooked. It took almost 45 min to get coffees for dessert that I almost missed my graduation. We asked for water about 5 times. I ordered a very expensive bottle of champagne and out waitress didn’t pour it. We were in th middle of eating and they decide to start rearrange these massive umbrellas that are screeching so loudly we can’t even have a conversation. We tried giving our credit card to a bus boy so we could get out of there and they couldn’t find the credit card for 15 min. It was embarrassing and I truly regret celebrating my accomplishment there. I will never recommend this place.
My wife and I took some very close friends who had not previously been to the Henry. It was actually our 4th trip. We wanted a place where we knew the food would be good and they would enjoy. We enjoyed the evening and the serviced we received was very good.

I came to the restaurant because I had heard good things about it and wanted to try my favorite dish: the Short Ribs.
The Short Ribs were excellent, but my main complaint has to do with value. For $26 I received a piece of meat on top of some mashed potatoes. For that price, I would have liked to have some vegetables or a salad.
We eat at Then Henry regularly and love sitting out on the patio. It was very disappointing that the waitress wasn't able to figure out after two times that I needed sweetner, and she didn't come back to see if everything was good...and didn't refill our glasses with water and ice tea. Hope that they get it worked out as we love going to The Henry.
The food at The Henry is very good with some healthy options which I like. The service is also very good. My one complaint is the noise which I would describe as noisy and not energetic. They have terrible acoustics. I can hear conversations at other tables more clearly than I can hear the people with whom I am dining. Otherwise, this is a very good place to eat.
I've only been here once for lunch in the past. Thanksgiving weekend Sunday, before sending the kids back to school, I made Open Table 10:15 Brunch reservations. Very trendy Restoration Hardware atmosphere with multiple areas of dining, take out, casual high tops, bar area, outdoor patio dining and inside. Our server Iman introduced herself and was excellent.
Of course we ordered brunch cocktails: Grapefruit Mimosa and Bloody Marys. Entrees were: The California Bowl, (Eggs) Huevos Rancheros, French Toast w/a side of Bacon and Bagel & Lox.
All the dishes were very good. The California Bowl a bit small for the price. Eggs Rancheros was excellent. French Toast was voted hands down the best dish ordered. The weakest was the Lox and Bagel, weak in presentation and when opened up only 2 tiny pieces of lox on each half not worth the price. We address this with Iman and it was quickly fixed (thank you Iman!)
All in all Atmosphere: Love, Service: excellent, Food: good though I would try other dishes before ordering the Lox & Bagel again... Go for the FRENCH TOAST!
We arrived early to our Saturday night dinner reservation, so we opted to have drinks until our table was ready. We sat for about 20 minutes before being greeted by a server in the patio/fireplace area. No apology for the long wait...just a greeting. Still no drinks arrived until we were inside and seated. At least, 35 minutes. (?) Once moved inside to our dinner table, service improved tremendously, but the quality of the food/flavor was just not there. I had the Branzino which was okay, but my husband’s bolognese fell flaaaaat. Both were highly recommended dishes from our server. The truffle fries were yummy. The ambiance was lovely, but if you’re a true foodie, I wouldn’t recommend going here. Definitely recommended for drinks and probably even apps. But as visitors to AZ, we only had so many opportunities to try local restaurants. This just missed the mark for us!
Outdoor patio was a great atmosphere with the fire place and quieter than inside. Cocktails were excellent. One of the best Old Fashions I have had. The short rib dish was delicious and I would order again. I would also recommend the smoked salmon appetizer.
Such a pleasant place. The wait staff was very accommodating. My only critique is easy to solve. This time of year is ideal for outdoor seating - upgrade your furniture (chairs) the plastic wicker is uncomfortable. The waitress was very sweet and traded my chair out for another.
The Henry was a nice location with a positive feel. We arrived on a Tuesday night and the house was pretty full. We did have reservations and were seated comfortably with a party of 6. The food was delicious and our waitress was familiar with all the different gluten free foods available and those that can be modified for those who are sensitive.
Miss the popovers. ParkerHouse rolls are just pappy-white bread with no redeeming food value, whereas popovers have to be hand-crafted; we were disappointed with this “substitute”. Also, the waiter seemed offended when we requested that we pour our own wine from the bottle into our glasses (we wanted to pace ourselves & keep the white wine chilled).
One of our favorite places! We live very close and The Henry is one of our “go to” options. The service is excellent and the food is consistently good. Love the seasonal ingredients—they had just switched out asparagus for Brussels Sprouts and butternut squash in my breakfast entree. Great atmosphere and lovely outdoor seating. Always bring out out of town friends to The Henry. Check the Bloody Mary cart! Highly recommend!
