The Hart and the Hunter

Went for the biscuits. They are good, but not what I was expecting. I did like the pimento cheese spread and the cinnamon butter. I feel both were well seasoned and provided a different experiences with the biscuit, however the jam was somewhat under spiced.
The bacon was thick, perhaps too thick. My eggs were slightly under seasoned. Coffee or juice both very tasty, the oj obviously fresh squeezed.
Very friendly staff.
Good breakfast. Must have the mushroom toast! Hart and the hunter is at the the Pali hotel lobby. We went on a Friday morning and it was not busy, good vibe and good service.
We have never sent all of our food back. The place was mostly dead, the service was awful, and we had to leave and make another reservation at a very expensive restaurant so that we could eat and celebrate a birthday. I would never recommend or go back there. Just absolutely awful.
I thoroughly enjoyed the Dine L.A. lunch here! Avocado toast was fantastic, smoked trout and eggs phenomonal! I've already recommended it to friends, and look forward to returning here! :)
Great food and service. Farm to table and quite a treat. My only con from visit were the many flies that interrupted outdoor dining. The restaurant was using a natural remedy to deter flies but it didn't help and the flies were annoying. Therefore, I suggest indoor dining unless you sit in the courtyard dining.
The service was slow for it not to be crowded. I had to cancel my bottomless mimosa because they weren't coming to refill it. The food was delicious though.
Food is great! I had a particular guest who needed a seat change due to the AC and they were very accommodating.
Burnt biscuits..... Hope quality isn't starting to decline, with Kris Tominaga no longer overseeing....
Came for lunch and there was no lunch menu. Only breakfast food on a Saturday.
Hi candaceD, Sorry to hear you didn't find our weekend brunch menu appealing. We are going to be adding a few more lunch-like items to our menus in the near future so we hope you come back and give us another shot. We also officially kicked off our Summer Cookout every Saturday 4pm-8pm on the patio if you want to come by for some classic bbq fare! thanks, Autumn Accarrino Director of Hospitality + Culture
Extremely accommodating staff and really eclectic vibe. Prime location as well!
The ambiance is okay but the quality of the food isn’t that special & the value of the food is too way expensive... it’s a no no! At least we’ve tried for the first time 👌
Second time we were there. Creative menu for brunch time. We took our grandson who graduated 8th grade. He enjoyed and it was a special occasion.
What a gem on Melrose ! I was pleasantly surprised because it was my first time here . I was meeting a good friend and hoping my choice for brunch at Hart and the Hunter was a hit . And ......, Drum roll 🥁🥁🥁 it was so much more . We both enjoyed the food and appreciated the ambiance !
The biscuits, the shrimp and grits, the fried chicken are all winners. We love to go with our dog and sit out on the patio. It's perfect for a pre-Melrose Trading Post brunch with your friends, canine or human.
Servers were nice but very slow. Food was ok not fantastic.
Delicious food in a cute and classic space with friendly service. Note that the indoor dining room can get a bit loud, particularly if you're in a large group, and that you get the brunch menu (no lunch option) on weekends.
Incredibly warm and attentive service without being overbearing. Loved the atmosphere, food, and felt appreciated. :)
Would absolutely recommend. I was actually looking for a place to take my mom for Mother's Day and was so happy I ran into this place. The brunch was amazing and every ingredient seemed home made. If you haven't been please check it out.
We were seated at the end of the patio near a door and the noisy street. Not very appealing. All of the other tables in the area had nice benches with pillows and our round 4 top for only 2 of us was not the experience I was hoping for. It's a very cute restaurant and we felt jipped. When I asked to be moved I was told nothing else was available, however there were many tables open. It was mother's day and not very busy. Luckily our server was nice and the food was pretty good. $18 for bottomless mimosas would typically be okay, but it was mostly just juice so not worth it. I probably won't go back.
Pretty darn good!
Great brunch place. Good selection of food that tastes great. Bottomless mimosas. Outdoor patio was large and private with a comfortable ambiance.
Love this place go to for bottomless mimosas
This place is the most reasonably priced brunch in LA with the best southern cooking. The chicken is phenomenal and the seasoning is really really really amazing. Would recommend this place to anyone.
The food was amazing! A little on the pricy side but not that bad especially for how good the food was. The interior decor was also very nice and fit the theme I was going for for my birthday brunch. I would definitely go again.
The biscuits are THE best. The service was great and it’s super cute inside
The biscuits are fantastic and the drink menu is interesting.
The lettuce in the salad was not well washed and had a grainy taste through out. My friend's selection was over spiced and was unable to eat it.
I love this place so much. The food is great, awesome to share different food with your party.
Great food and great ambiance! I recommend the biscuits and the hot chicken sandwich! You will not be disappointed
Smaller than we thought, but we went on a weekday at 10 and had the place almost to ourselves. Food was amazing, I’ll be dreaming about the biscuits for a while!
Great atmosphere. Great food. Impeccable service. A+
Our reservation was made by phone for Saturday at 9:45 PM and when we arrived we were told the kitchen was closing at 10:00 PM.
If someone had told us earlier that was the case, we would have opted to go somewhere else.
This is a great dining spot especially in the summer.
We were rushed, the food was not up to par with what we hoped for and we couldn't order desert.
Overall not a great dining experience
First time going to the trendy hotspot. We were walk-ins with out a reservation, so the wait was 30 mintues. I sat down, opened up OpenTable and made a reservation for 15 minutes earlier. Thank you.
We sat outside, the noise was pretty busy with large parties. Nice ambient music, service was great, but the bench seating was uncomfortable, and the seat / size ratio was off, maybe because of the slight slope? Food was refreshingly new in this city of bland. The chef has created a small but varied menu, with tasteful delights. I'll be back!
The chicken sandwich is amazing!
While visiting LA searched for highly rated, restaurants. The Hart and The Hunter was one of the first to come up. The atmosphere is casual, cozy and inviting. The servers were lovely, attentive and knowledgeable. A bit of a delay on two of our entrees which they apologized profusely for - giving us extra butter biscuits and a round of desserts at no charge as an additional apology.
The food is GREAT. Brussels Sprouts should not be missed and the Kale salad is fabulous. The butter biscuits are made to order and come out piping hot, delicate and flaky. They had just received their liquor license so the drink menu was focused on wine, beer and very interesting wine-based cocktails. Highly recommend!
Stylish and lovely WeHo spot, keeping in mind for out of town visitors whose menu preferences differ (healthy or not so much).
Eggs Benedict and other breakfast items weregood. The standout was the service. Pleasant and attentive. Chicken cracklings are NOT chicken bites. They are seasoned, fried chicken skins. Not recommended, esp at the price, even though I enjoy fried chicken.
The burger is amazing, very good quality. And the Brussels sprouts salad is really good as well
Great restaurant. Didn’t realize it was a hotel restaurant but that didn’t really matter. It was super chill and the waitstaff were great.
Menu selection was small because it was a brunch menu, I think, so the creamed corn grilled cheese sandwich wasn't available which was a bummer but we ordered the eggs Benedict and their Johnny Cake and it was delicious!!!!
