The Hart and the Hunter
Menu selection was small because it was a brunch menu, I think, so the creamed corn grilled cheese sandwich wasn't available which was a bummer but we ordered the eggs Benedict and their Johnny Cake and it was delicious!!!!
It was a cute restaurant, but very noisy for a small space with not many people in the room. The food was pretty good, their avocado toast was awesome, so much avocado and nice flavors. The Johnny Cake came out quicker than expected which was good, but I didn't really like the pancake thing under the chicken, didn't like the flavors of that or the maple syrup. The portions were ok, I was still hungry though after my meal so not great value or portion. They didn't seat us til our whole party was there, and service was pretty slow at times. But overall I enjoyed it, good food and nice ambience.
I was so pleased with my experience! The food was delicious (I will be coming back for the vegan biscuits). The staff took great care of us. You can really tell when the whole team is working to together. Hart and Hunter provides the experience only available at the restaurant of a boutique hotel. I highly recommend this restaurant. It was intimate, fun and welcoming. A very special thank you to Lisa, Aiden and their staff who went above and beyond for our night. Thank you!
Yummy food at a reasonable price in a dimly lit, cozy ambience. Really enjoyed our dinner for a date night there. The servers were friendly and efficient. The biscuits, shrimp, dirty rice, crispy Brussels sprouts...
The Hart and the Hunter consistently exceeds expectations. Every dish they plate is the best version of whatever they’ve decided to cook up. No matter what you choose, always add a side of bacon.
I loved it. Server was nice and fast.
Great brunch with Professor McHugh and our business and entertainment grads here in LA. Terrific brunch spot and very accommodating of a large group. Food was very good. Great biscuits. Highly recommend.
My new favorite breakfast place. I HAVE to always get the biscuits and the bacon.
I had the biscuits and hot chicken. Everything was delicious and better than what I found on my last trip to Charleston. The service was attentive but not overbearing. I will definitely be back.
Overall the food was lackluster. The biscuits are amazing and everything else is not worth it.
Great spot, good food, good service. Had a birthday brunch and snagged an outdoor seat so the noise level was perfect for a mellow afternoon. Would definitely recommend the Benedict and sugar pie was a tasty finish to a lovely meal.
Speaking as a Southern native, the buttermilk biscuits here are hands down the very best biscuits in Los Angeles.
Cold brew is expensive and apparently refills aren’t free. Beware!
Food was incredible!
Good food and had a perfect evening.
The food is Brit brunch comfort food - hearty but not particularly memorable. The turmeric latte and fresh biscuits were lovely.
We were a party of 7. All of us enjoyed our food, service and ambience.
We went on New Year’s Day at 1pm for brunch. 4 of us ordered bottomless mimosas. After our second glass we were told they ran out of champagne. We felt they shouldn’t have offered us bottomless.
However, the manager did pay for the drinks we had and offered a nice (not bottomless) bottle of champagne. We would all definitely go back and give them another shot at brunch. The food was delish!
Noisy. Awful, cold food. Avoid.
Unknown to me it was a fixed price dinner for New Years. I asked if there were other options and was told no. Yet two other tables around me were receiving items that weren’t part of the fixed price meal. I ordered the vegan meal and my date had the regular meal. We were both extremely disappointed. Me more so as the vegan meal was pathetic. Having been to this restaurant on a normal day I’ve enjoyed the food here but the fixed price meal was awful and I’m debating never going here again as a result.
food for the brunch was absolutely delicious ! Mushroom toast and almond coconut French toast were amazing
How am I just discovering this gem?! I sometimes grab coffee from here when I'm across the street getting a haircut but I finally had dinner here for the first time and I AM SO MAD AT MYSELF for taking this long to have SUCH DELICIOUS food. Johnny Cakes?!! EAT THEM NOW!
Waited twenty min to be sat. Waited another 15 min for anyone to come to my table, let alone get water. When a server finally came, I was told there were no eggs — at brunch. And factually, Whole Foods was still open just a few blocks away. I really want to like this place. I hope this situation was an anomaly.
The butter biscuits are worth their weight in gold. Of course, I wish they were cheaper, but they practically melt in your mouth, so I'll order them regardless. Amazing. Kayla was a great server. Sitting outside was nice, since it was a beautiful day, and we had the table furthest away from Melrose, so it wasn't terribly noisy. I can't wait to go back for more butter biscuits.
Unusual & delicious menu, wonderful ambience!
Love this Place.... I Celebrated my Birthday here it was outside in the Courtyard which was nice quiet and intimate..... The Pressed Juices were amazing as was the food as well... I will definitely be returning.
Thie day we went everything was over the top spicy. Other days the food has been amazing.
Awesome place!! Me and my girlfriends ate amazing food and drank delicious mimosas!
Delicious food and the cutest atmosphere.
It’s been amazing both times I have gone! I will be back.
Food wasn’t that great.. 2 dishes were sent back to the kitchen... the reservation was at 12pm we weren’t sear until almost 12:30
I was disappointed. I heard good things from others but was disappointed with the food. The only thing that was good was the biscuits. That’s it!!!
My friends and I were very excited to go to brunch at The Heart and the Hunter, unfortunately we left feeling extremely unsatisfied. We were seated at a lovely outside table but waited about 10-15 minutes to be greeted. The only reason someone eventually came by was because we had to stop the hostess and let her know no one had come over yet. Service is everything when you go to a new place. Finally I ordered a Bloody Mary that took 20 mins to come out and tasted terrible. On top of that the food was sub par. The only thing that stood out with this restaurant were the biscuits. I truly wish we had a better experience.
Great service, bottomless mimosas and yummy decadent brunch!
We had a great time. The service was very attentive and friendly. We had a comfortable table outside that felt very relaxed and welcoming. I would recommend the avocado toast and the biscuits. Very good!
It was perfect, as always! Although I should have gotten the Shrimp and Grits but wanted to try something new! Nevertheless, absolutely no complaints!
Delicious plates.Very original. Priced just right. 3 ladies enjoyed a bottle of wine and several plates that we shared. Loved it and looking forward to going back.
We had a wonderful meal and prompt service!
Went to brunch! Excellent experience- sat on the patio. Wonderful service too- just wish the coffee was a bit stronger, but maybe that’s personal preference !
Fantastic ambiance, but it comes with too much of a cost. It's so loud that patrons feels they have to yell at each other in a small space. This was when all the tables were full, so I'm sure it's quieter at less peak hours. Our waiter was inattentive, the appetizer came out with the entrees, cocktails ordered at the beginning came out towards the end of the meal, and we had to track down a different waiter to receive the check.
If we end up in the neighborhood, we're going to H&H. Service is always attentive. We are slowly but surely making our way through the entire menu. Everything is terrific, but do yourself a favor: Order extra biscuits. They are amazing, and the worst that will happen is that you take a few home with you.
